The SOPA/PIPA Fight

The Stop Online Piracy Act, currently stalled (for now) in the House, and its Senate companion, the Protect IP Act, attempt to address the legitimate problem of intellectual property infringement with the terrible solution of breaking the Internet. As such, numerous websites have gone dark today in protest. If you’re unfamiliar with the issue, this explanation from the Heritage Foundation of why the bills are problematic is a good place to start.

RedState is temporarily stopping publication of new content to keep information about the SOPA/PIPA fight front-and-center.

Just this morning, Senator Marco Rubio announced on Facebook that he’s withdrawing his support for PIPA; Erick Erickson is thrilled. Rep. Lee Terry withdrew his support for SOPA yesterday.

Just another attempt from another sector to control the internet.

And don't think the politicians don't love it.

Their records are on the internet and the crooks running the Congress would love nothing more than to shut it down.

I find the whole thing disturbing and Mr. Tabin's comments are sensible--as usual.
