One important caveat to my earlier post about the confusion of social conservative leaders. The fact that there was similar disarray among religious right leaders in 2008 — I wrote about it here after the Values Voters debate — didn’t prevent their base from making an impact. Pat Robertson might have endorsed pro-choice Rudy Giuliani for president, but socially conservative voters in Iowa and beyond didn’t.

Santorum's election would also give us a creepy first lady.

I have seen this story in a few different places now. Santorum's wife dating and living with one of PA's first abortion doctors for six years. During that time she had no problem with what he did. For a pro-lifer like me this would be like having a first lady that had a fling with someone like a Dr. Mengele?

I am more forgiving of Santorum's wife's past. I have seen many reformed abortionists in my long years of pro-life work. She did mother 7 children, including one handicapped.

The main problem I have with Santorum is that he wants to bomb and kill people in violation of both Just War Doctrine and International Law. You can't be a bloodthirsty war monger and still call yourself pro-life and a good Catholic. He is also one of the worst whores in Washington to every corrupt lobby, that will pay him some loot.

" CBS Poll: Independents Prefer Ron Paul Vs Obama

In a head to head match up with incumbent President Barack Obama, the indie voter chooses Ron Paul, a CBS News poll suggested on Monday.

A total of 47% of independent voters said they would choose Ron Paul compared to 45% of independent voters choosing Mitt Romney against Obama, and 41% of independents saying they would choose Rick Santorum. If a Paul-Obama showdown were ever to take place, 47% of independent voters would vote for Paul, 81% republicans and 10% Democrats for a total of 45% of the vote. Obama would get just 40% of the independent vote in that contest, with 85% of the Democrats choosing Obama and 9% of Republicans choosing the President on election day in November. Obama would win the general election by a narrow one point margin if the election was held today between the two."
