Interesting.

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, in an interview tonight with Sean Hannity on Fox, said that she would like to see the GOP presidential race continue after South Carolina.

And… drumroll… were she a resident of South Carolina, she would vote for Newt Gingrich.

The saga continues.

Gingrich could annihilate Hussein in any debate...I honestly doubt that Romney has the cojones to even take a stand on any issue were he ever to have to face Obama on anything. Santorum might be a good Conservative, but he's just not ruthless enough to take down Obama. Perry, same notation. Paul...well, he wakes up in a different world every morning.

I'm not a huge fan of Gingrich, but we need intellectual firepower to completely humilate Obama and take him down. Gingrich has that firepower.

Dan| 1.18.12 @ 12:33AM

If Romney campaigns like he's afraid to call a spade a spade, who here thinks he will govern much differently?

Romney is altogether too cautious for the challenges of this time.

Romney is presently unsuited for the nomination and The White House.

fckewe| 1.18.12 @ 4:02AM

I agree, but I bet he'd like to call a spade a 'N****r'. LOL I am SURE that Perry and Gingrich already do, when they think only white people are listening! We already KNOW what Santorum thinks out loud, but his waffling on his own rhetoric is just laughable.

Dan| 1.18.12 @ 6:20AM

The phrase used was not meant to refer to obama being half white and half black.

Which was obvious.

Nor does Gingrich and Perry use the term you referred to privately. The only people using that term in America are black people themselves, and in that community, that term is not uncommon.

Truth to Power| 1.18.12 @ 11:05AM

Think shovel moron. Why are liberal always so dumb.

Kitty| 1.18.12 @ 6:24AM

McRomney's just another poltroon who wants to be accepted by the other kids inside the beltway, which means he'll do anything and say anything.

Jack in Wi.| 1.18.12 @ 7:27AM

I wonder how much that endorsement cost Sheldon Adelson? Sarah and her hubbie love loot and they have made a ton of it since Sarah' was hand picked to be the judas goat for McCain to get get the conservatves to the polls. This whole campaign by Newt is to make sure Romney makes no attempt to faint libertarian after he gets the nomination. Good luck with that. No pro war Republican can be elected. To win the nominee will have sound a lot more like Ron Paul then Nutts Gingrich.

Dai Alanye | 1.18.12 @ 1:31PM

The madness continues.

fckewe| 1.18.12 @ 4:00AM

THERE IS NOTHING intellectual about the Lizard! LMAO! Shouting louder and looking grumpier than you debate mates is NOT intellectual!

If ruthlessness is all that you look for in a President, then why NOT write in your favorite Gangbanger on the ballot?

Dai Alanye | 1.18.12 @ 1:33PM

Is Mr Ewe a troll or simply another of the headcases who post here? Enquiring minds don't much care, I suppose.

MikeG| 1.18.12 @ 8:25AM

This is not a debate contest or high school forensics to see who has the best speech. We need to beat Obama.

Alan Brooks| 1.18.12 @ 11:57AM

Palin got roped in by Newt,
what a shame.
perhaps Newt promised her a lakeside property on the Moon- after he someday builds an artificial lake there.
Someday.

Margie| 1.17.12 @ 11:52PM

Well, at this point in time it looks like it's coming down to to Newt and Romney.
Sarah's right. Newt is the better choice of those left who can win.

aware| 1.18.12 @ 5:43AM

Neither can win the general. Even if they do I'd bet 10 thousand that the Leviathan is bigger after they're done than when they started.

Alan Brooks| 1.18.12 @ 11:59AM

Aware knows the Deal.

Margie| 1.18.12 @ 1:30PM

Aware and Alan know no such thing. And since when do conservatives quit fighting??

NEVER!

John Drake| 1.18.12 @ 12:07AM

Did she say why she would vote for him? Is that really who she favors for the nomination?

Dan| 1.18.12 @ 12:34AM

She's being way too coy here.

But if she's serious about stopping Romney, and stopping anybody like Romney gaining the nomination, then not just must she open her mouth and so declare, she must take to the campaign trail bashing the moderates and rallying conservatives to the colours.

Kitty| 1.18.12 @ 6:57AM

Here’s the quote: “I I had to vote in South Carolina in order to keep this think going I’d vote for Newt.”

The operative phrase being "in order to keep this think going." She's not trying to stop Romney, per se; she just doesn't want the primary to be over this soon. She said on Hannity last night the longer this primary runs, the stronger the candidates become. You may think she's being coy, but she's still right.

Kitty| 1.18.12 @ 6:58AM

My bad. I screwed up the quote.
Here’s the quote: “If I had to vote in South Carolina in order to keep this thing going I’d vote for Newt.”

Mimi| 1.18.12 @ 8:02AM

Kitty...You are right ! She did NOT give Newt an outright endorsement....She merely did want the VETTING process to be over and also they are getting toward the Top of their game and still formulating the BEST Conservative message.
Her goal is to GET THE BEST Candidate....And as always she makes sense!!!

Mimi| 1.18.12 @ 8:04AM

did NOT want the vetting to be over...oops!

Jeffrey Lord| 1.18.12 @ 9:03AM

John Drake...

She told Hannity that if she were voting in the South Carolina primary she would vote for Newt. She also said she wants the race to continue.....so no over-all endorsement.

Dai Alanye | 1.18.12 @ 1:36PM

It's not yet an endorsement, thank goodness. Perhaps she'll go for Santorum later. After all, Rick is the thinking woman's choice.

Dan| 1.18.12 @ 12:31AM

There's more than enough time for the Romney campaign to urinate all over Gingrich, while Romney continues to deplore PACs.

They're already beginning to go after Gingrich again.

RSM over at the Other McCain is acting like he got stung by a wasp because Gingrich is moving forward once more, instead of Mr. badly-dated sweater vest.

Bill Hussein O'Stalin| 1.18.12 @ 5:38AM

The last time out she endorsed McCain. He lost and should have lost. As far as Sarah Palin she's making tons of cash pretending she's a politician. She's simply a part of the popular culture.

Dai Alanye | 1.18.12 @ 1:50PM

Palin had NO CHOICE but to endorse McCain, the man who picked her as VP. Had she failed to do so she would still be hearing condemnations of ingratitude, and her political standing badly damaged. This shouldn't be hard to understand for anyone familiar with human nature.

Sarah Palin is one of the sharpest political minds on the scene today, and we're lucky she's a true conservative.

Who cares about Palin. She is an empty skirt, an airhead, who sunk McCain's campaign.

Mike 3/505| 1.18.12 @ 8:21AM

Nah....McCain's staff sunk his campaign by not turning her loose. facts are stubborn things.

MikeG| 1.18.12 @ 9:48AM

Please explain what she would have said or done if turned loose. She could not even answer Koric's question about what newspapers she read. Even Rick Perry could have named some papers, and all she had to do was say NY Times, Washington Post, and that would have been the end of that questioning.
She is just trying to keep alive her name brand on Fox to make some money.

Dai Alanye | 1.18.12 @ 1:57PM

McCain's campaign was dying before he chose Palin. As it was it took a tremendous amount of blundering on his part to lose after Sarah gave him a tremendous boost. The two biggest errors: running back to Washington to help with TARP, and the mismanagement of Palin. Had she been sent to Fox and local radio, avoiding CBS and McCain's other fake friends in the media, Angry John could be President today.

MikeG| 1.19.12 @ 10:15AM

Palin helped with the conservatives, but hurt witht he independents and Hispanics.
You can't hide a candidate on a friendly show, if she can't handle a lightweight like Kouric she should not be running.

Margie| 1.18.12 @ 1:31PM

propaganda and distortions.

wodiej| 1.18.12 @ 7:45AM

Gov. Palin and her Husband are the ones who get it. All the talking heads just act like they do. Nothing but overpaid suits and blabbermouths.

Mimi| 1.18.12 @ 8:10AM

It will be up to the voters in South Carolina...We have a debate on Thursday ( CNN) Lets hope they can be impartial and avoid the "GOTCHA" stuff !!

Mike W| 1.18.12 @ 8:30AM

What happened to my Republican party? Fat disgusting hispandering Newt is still grasping for the nomination. Idiotic Rick Perry who has Turkey confused with Iran, is still in the race. The best we can do is a Mass. liberal.

Were the good Republicans afraid of the race issue? Afraid to be the white candidate to defeat the black candidate?

It's hopeless for this year.

Derek Leaberry| 1.18.12 @ 8:59AM

I bet that alters about 39 votes.

bill| 1.18.12 @ 9:23AM

Newt Gingrich is authentic, charismatic, and has leadership. If I were lived in SC, I would have voted for Gingrich. He is not perfect. But he is far better candidate than Romney or Santorum.
Gingrich is a "GA conservative."
Romney is a "big government MA moderate."
Santorum is a "big government PA moderate."
You pick!

Jack in Wi.| 1.18.12 @ 11:33AM

Bill here has finally dumped Perry.

bill| 1.18.12 @ 12:17PM

Not Yet.
Perry is polling only 5% in SC, and this is why I'm supporting Gingrich, who is trailing Romney but can "come from behind" and beat Romney in SC.
GOP Dream Team:

President: Gingrich
VP : Perry

OR

President: Perry
VP : Gingrich

I like both because they have southern heritage and conservative credentials, and Romney and Santorum are two NE "RINO."

MikeG| 1.18.12 @ 12:23PM

What planet are you on bill?

bill| 1.18.12 @ 12:13PM

Gingrich will win in SC and defeat Obama in the general election. No doubt!
Go South! Go America!

MikeG| 1.18.12 @ 1:19PM

What happened to your prediction that Rick Perrry would win South Carolina and the presidency? Given up on Perry that quickly.

Dai Alanye | 1.18.12 @ 1:59PM

After Perry quits and Gingrich is downed by some scandal, who will Bill switch to?
