Newt On Fire

Tonight in South Carolina, Newt Gingrich began hitting them out of the park. Answering questions from Juan Williams on poverty, jobs for poor kids, Obama as the food stamp president… this was the Newt Gingrich so many missed when he was smacking back at Romney by going after Bain Capital.

And, sure enough, he was getting standing ovations.

Days to go in South Carolina, and Newt tonight has reverted to the Reaganesque form so many have admired throughout his career.

Saturday will be very interesting. It ain’t over… ‘til it’s over.

He is preeminently the superior candidate.

Who here wouldn't want Obama on his heels under a relentless attack from Gingrich?

Newt is entertaining but unelectable. this chickenhawk would be the most un-electable guy around. His recored of corruption both personal and political is unmatched in modern times. I am glad the people here are going down with his ship. They all deserve each other.

It's over.

Romney/Gingrich. It's all over for the O. His legacy of corruption in office and of gerrymandering favors for his political supporters is about to end. Jack in WI, as a Democrat from Wisconsin, you haven't a leg to stand on when it comes to corruption. Pick almost any Democrat for the past 60 years, in almost any state. Newt's tarnished record shines brightly in comparison. Your party is about to lose power----not just the Presidency, but completely. The people are sick and tired of the corruption of the Democrat party.

Although I didn't see the entire debate, I believe the parts of saw were won by Newt Gingrich. He has knowledge and understanding of the issues, and the tenacity to get to the truth and hit opponents hard with it. Go Newt!

His unfavorability ratings are through the roof. He doesn't go over well in continental America. Romney is steady for the course.

Mittens can't hold water to Newt. Obama's Chicago machine will eat him alive. They've already started.

When you put 2 & 2 together ...finally some sense to this election is coming to light.
Today after watching last nights debate/ and reading the Jeffrey Lords preview of Ameritopia this morning a LIGHT of truth went on...What and WHY brought the crowd to give Newt a standing ovation ? A concept of working hard, and being rewarded to provide well for yourself ie Individual Liberty ! then Ameritopia DEPENDENCE vs accepting the founders GIFT...self reliance and FREEDOM !

Mr. Lord, I would love to take you and dozens of ASO readers on a welfare state tour of our nation.

From the obvious places like the wards in Chicago and the blight blocks of Detroit to relatively well-heeled neighborhoods (by comparison) on the east coast.

I have done business travel and am often true when on the road to my Scots-Irish heritage. Yes, I am an often unabashed total skinflint. Particularly when I am travelling solo. (If the wife is along, Scots skinflint practices are placed a bit on ice)

In so many of the budget hotels I pass or stay in or stay next to, I encounter those on welfare -- for months and years already now. They don' work and have no intention of working. Many cannot really recall when they last worked. The acohol and soft drugs they consume don't much aid memory recall.

I'd never met and talked Food Stamps (or even seen them) until talking with these people.

Can I place a number on it? No. But I'd say we are easily funding several million fully able bodied 20 - 50 year olds who contentedly and without conscience accept their $1,600 - $2,800 per month for doing nothing.

And there are state systems that don't ask them the hard questions. State governments fully at fault.

The most that many of them have to do in a week is phone a computer, automated phone bank and state to the electronic machine that they are still looking for work. After this 2 minute toll free phone call is done, they go right back to channel surfing, sleeping, or eating bags of junk food.

Go to a slightly off the beaten trail, somewhat rundown budget hotel with the weekly room specials of about $240 - 290 per week. (you can tell these places -- your wife would look at it with some trepidation)

You'll find them there by the dozens. For weeks and months on end. Staff at the better hotels try to put them out of sight, but they are there.
