Hello, Romney lovers:
It is not over yet!
Romney stole IA, bought NH, and will be defeated in SC.
SC is the land of liberty and free-enterprise. No country for "big government liberal RINO" like Romney or Santorum.
We must STOP Romney because:
-pro-abortion
-pro gay marriage
-pro gun control
-RomneyCare
-Supports climate change
And this why Santorum should be defeated in SC:
-opposed "Right to Work" state law, favoring big labor unions over worker' choice
-voted for raising debt celling 8 time
-NCLB
-voted against free trade
We must support Rick Perry. He has southern heritage and conservative credentials to win in SC. Gingrich will be my second choice.
Jack in Wi.| 1.10.12 @ 9:38PM
The only one who has the organization and national support to beat Romney is Ron Paul. I have been saying it for months. It is down to Ron and Mitt. All the rest were just flotsam and jetsum. The elites want Bush 3. The rest of us want the true champion of the Constitution Ron Paul.
Lester| 1.10.12 @ 9:56PM
I agree with 90% of Paul, but the notion that we can down scale our military is insane.
bill| 1.10.12 @ 10:12PM
I like Ron Paul's monetary policy, but I don't know how Ron Paul will sell his foreign policy before SC conservative voters. Money and organization do not buy votes, it's the candidates' policy and credentials.
Jack in Wi.| 1.11.12 @ 1:18AM
His foreign policy is the one of the founders. Ron gets far more support from the active military then anyone combined. They are sick and tired of being cannon fodder for the foreign intrests. This country has bankrupted itself in wars for 100 years. The Soviet Union did the same. You can't pay for a sound defense, if you are bankrupt.
Dai Alanye | 1.11.12 @ 11:08AM
"...the one of the founders."
Sure, because every time I see Ron Paul I think of George Washington.
Wait, though -- perhaps it's Benedict Arnold I'm thinking of. I always get those two mixed up.
Clint| 1.10.12 @ 10:30PM

Ronald Reagan On Defense Waste:
" During my 1980 campaign, I called federal waste and fraud a national scandal. We knew we could never rebuild America's strength without first controlling the exploding cost of defense programs, and we're doing it. When we took office in 1981, costs had been escalating at an annual rate of 14 percent. Then we began our reforms. And in the last two years, cost increases have fallen to less than 1 percent. We've made huge savings. Each F-18 fighter costs nearly $4 million less today than in 1981. One of our air-to-air missiles costs barely half as much.
Getting control of the defense bureaucracy is no small task. Each year the Defense Department signs hundreds of thousands of contracts. So yes, a horror story will sometimes turn up despite our best efforts. That's why we appointed the first Inspector General in the history of the Defense Department. And virtually every case of fraud or abuse has been uncovered by our Defense Department, our Inspector General. Secretary Weinberger should be praised, not pilloried, for cleaning the skeletons out of the closet. As for those few who have cheated taxpayers or have swindled our Armed Forces with faulty equipment, they are thieves stealing from the arsenal of democracy, and they will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."

Lester| 1.10.12 @ 10:34PM
I agree we need to cut waste so the money we spend makes us stronger, but that is NOT what Paul is saying.
Clint| 1.10.12 @ 11:08PM
" Military Expenditures
The United States, with a budget of $698 billion, spends more on defense than the next seventeen nations combined. The United States military spending is almost six times that of the next biggest spender, China ($119 billion) and more than eleven times that of Russia ($59 billion).
The Department of Defense budget in fiscal year 2010 accounted for 19% of the United States federal budget and 28% of estimated tax revenues. The U.S. accounts for 40% of the world’s yearly defense outlays."

Dai Alanye | 1.11.12 @ 11:13AM
Reagan destroyed the Soviet Union by building the American military, not by tearing it down. The USSR, a socialist economy, couldn't keep up.
At present our military takes a far smaller percentage of the GDP than previously, yet both Obama and Paul are blaming it for the nation's ills. Somebody needs to learn not only his history but his math.
bill| 1.10.12 @ 9:35PM
Fact: SC determines the GOP nominee since 1980.
1980: Reagan
1988: Bush (senior)
2000: W
2008: McCain
2012: Rick Perry
Romney will be slaughtered and Santorum will be kicked out in the SC Primary. No country for "big government RINO."
Bob Oblaw| 1.10.12 @ 9:48PM
Mittens... the media would LOVE to crown you as the GOP Standard Bearer a mere two primaries in. You're swallowing the bait and thinking it is so, as well. No one expected anything less than a victory in NH, practically your own back yard. Hardly proof of national intent for you to be the GOP candidate.
Bad news for ya, Mitty-poo. South Carolina will throw a cold wet blanket on your self-administered coronation and show you to be what you really are: Obama-lite, banker-bought and approved, and a RINO.
Lester| 1.10.12 @ 9:50PM
I was a Perry supporter, but I agree with Snerdly - we need a candidate that can ARTICULATE conservatism. Not a Romney guy, but his speech tonight was great.
Paul Zummo| 1.10.12 @ 10:25PM
Yeah, we need the guy who mouths conservative pieties, not the guy who actually has a conservative record.
We're going to lose this election because of idiot logic like this. There's a reason Snerdley is behind the glass.
Lester| 1.10.12 @ 10:32PM
We need both.
Lester| 1.10.12 @ 10:41PM
You did not hear the exchange between Bo and Rush or are a terrible listener. Rush opens the mic for Bo when modesty prevents Rush from telling the truth which pumps Rush's ego. Rush puts on Bo when he is making Rush's point.
It was a superb moment in broadcast history.
They are right we need a "communicator."
Margaret| 1.11.12 @ 3:51AM
The speach was written for Mitt by his handlers and delivered using teleprompter. Just like Obama!!!!!!
Lester| 1.10.12 @ 9:55PM
Plus, Perry's attack on capitalism smacked of stupidity and desperation. Too bad.
Not a Romney guy. But Perry is just not ready. Good guy but not ready. We do not need foot-in-mouth nominee.
bill| 1.10.12 @ 10:15PM
Perry never attacked capitalism. He was stating some facts before the constituents in SC. He created over 1 million private sector jobs in TX, the 13th largest economy in the world with over 25 million people. He's articulate but got caught on those "gutcha questions" in the debate.
Lester| 1.10.12 @ 10:24PM
Nonsense. Did you see the interview he just did on Hannity? How could you he be this clueless. He sounded like Debbie WS (D-FL).
By definition a GOVERNOR cannot CREATE PRIVATE SECTOR jobs.
He has no friggen idea what Bain Capital did or how capitalism works.
Ignorance.
Ken (Old Texican| 1.11.12 @ 8:14AM
Having been CEO of two very large fortune sized companies that were hugundous money makers, I watched time after time the corporate raiders try to swoop in, manipulate our stock for volatility purposes, and make their money off of shorting and short term bounces.
Rick Perry has seen a number of these raiders here in Texas. He prefers the term "vultures". I prefer "raiders" because vultures in the wild come only after dead carcasses. "Raiders" attack robust growing companies as well.
somnolence| 1.10.12 @ 10:00PM
Reagan NEVER polled THAT badly(like Perry is) ANYWHERE, including South Carolina.
bill| 1.10.12 @ 10:16PM
SC Primary will be in Jan 21, we still have 11 days left. Perry will stun America and win in SC.
Pete| 1.11.12 @ 12:23AM
I am waiting for Romney to say that he knows he will need to fire 1 million federal employees. Until he does, I do not want to here about his being a capitalist.
Becka| 1.28.12 @ 9:30AM
No thanks. I don't want Romney as my candidate. I speak for many of the tea party conservatives out here. I don't want Romney as my candidate. I resent having this milk toast moderate shoved in my face by the rest of you on the GOP side and by the media who seem fairly certain he can lose to Obama. Perhaps we need to try things our way for a change. Let's get a mean, fighting, in-your-face candidate in there, and let's watch Obama melt in the first debate.
