Finally!!! Rick Santorum puts it point blank to Romney. If your record in Massachusetts was so great why didn’t you run for re-election? Why did you bail out? Santorum went to say that while Romney bailed, he was running on conservative principles and running in a state bluer than Massachusetts.
Frankly, Romney didn’t have a good answer. He life is more than politics and that he didn’t want to run time and again. When Santorum countered, “So you’re not going to run for re-election if you’re President?” Romney had an Anderson Cooper moment and turned to David Gregory for help.
Afterwards, Newt chided Romney for running for President while he was Massachusetts Governor as he spent more than 200 days out of the state during his tenure.
The seeds of doubt have been planted. The question is will they germinate in time for the vote in South Carolina.

The effort to derail Mitt Romney’s presidential quest heightened dramatically on Friday when a super PAC associated with Newt Gingrich outbid all comers for the rights to a scathing 30-minute attack video depicting Romney as a greedy, job-killing corporate raider “more ruthless than Wall Street.”
In a season filled with negative ads and rhetorical crossfire, the striking feature of the film, aside from its mini-documentary length, is its authorship. The film was made by Jason Killian Meath, a former associate of Romney’s top strategists, Stuart Stevens and Russ Schriefer. Old Timer: Ron Paul's plan is balanced and would be phased in. Even Rush Limbaugh has praised parts of it. If we don't attack the debt and liquidate the debt this country will never get out of the hole. Japan has a similar program to what we are doing. It has failed for 20 years. The Japanese at least can fund their own deficits and some of ours as well. We just sink deeper and deeper into debt to foreigners.

The GOP establishment has been telling us that Romney is the most electable candidate for about 6 months now. Its an assumption that Santorum and Newt need to challenge. Santorum looked more presidential than Romney last night and was quick on his feet. Romney seemed confused. Romney came in 3rd to the loser Mc Cain in 2008. Romney also bailed after 1 term as governor. In that term he charged the Massachusettes taxpayers for his presidential campaigning. This is a tactic our Senators do also. Get paid while not working. It gives them an unfair advantage.

I remember Bob Dornan from the late 1960s with his morning talk show. He was a good showman, but as an elected official, he lost a congressional district in Los Angeles county, moved to Orange County and ultimately lost his seat there as well. He was not an effective leader. I think he valued the stage too much for that. Sonny Bono, on the other hand, was more effective.

Also, Romney became the front runner because of a flawed GOP race and some flawed candidates like Huntsman, Santorum, Gingrich. Nobody likes Rick Perry because he's from TX, mistakenly presuming him be a Bush surrogate. He is a solid conservative and can defeat Obama handily. Romney may steal the GOP nod but will lose to Obama badly. Santorum, Gingrich, and Ron Paul will never get the GOP nod.
