Finally!!! Rick Santorum puts it point blank to Romney. If
your record in Massachusetts was so great why didn’t you run for
re-election? Why did you bail out? Santorum went to say that
while Romney bailed, he was running on conservative principles and
running in a state bluer than Massachusetts.
Frankly, Romney didn’t have a good answer. He life is more than
politics and that he didn’t want to run time and again. When
Santorum countered, “So you’re not going to run for re-election if
you’re President?” Romney had an Anderson Cooper moment and turned
to David Gregory for help.
Afterwards, Newt chided Romney for running for President while
he was Massachusetts Governor as he spent more than 200 days out of
the state during his tenure.
The seeds of doubt have been planted. The question is will they
germinate in time for the vote in South Carolina.

" Gingrich Super PAC to attack Romney for Bain Capital work?
The effort to derail Mitt Romney’s presidential quest heightened dramatically on Friday when a super PAC associated with Newt Gingrich outbid all comers for the rights to a scathing 30-minute attack video depicting Romney as a greedy, job-killing corporate raider “more ruthless than Wall Street.”
In a season filled with negative ads and rhetorical crossfire, the striking feature of the film, aside from its mini-documentary length, is its authorship. The film was made by Jason Killian Meath, a former associate of Romney’s top strategists, Stuart Stevens and Russ Schriefer. Meath had worked for the Romney campaign in 2008, creating much of the ad content for that failed effort. He left Stevens and Schriefer’s firm, SSG, in 2010. Meath declined to comment on his project, referring inquiries to the pro-Gingrich PAC Winning Our Future…
“A story of greed,” the narrator intones. “Playing the system for a quick buck. A group of corporate raiders, led by Mitt Romney. More ruthless than Wall Street. For tens of thousands of Americans, the suffering began when Mitt Romney came to town.”

ObamaAdviserAxelrod:VotersHaveTroubleTrusting Romney..Sunday, January 8...WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama's chief campaign adviser says conservative and moderate Republicans are having problems trusting GOP presidential front-runner Mitt Romney.Strategist David Axelrod said on ABC's "This Week" this morning that it's clear Romney is running into resistance from a majority of Republican voters, given that his support is under 25 percent in most national surveys and some early voting states.Axelrod also took aim at Romney's work at the Bain Capital private equity company. Romney has never substantiated his claim that he was a creator of more than 100,000 jobs while leading Bain. Critics cite jobs lost at Bain-acquired or Bain-supported firms that closed, cut back or shifted employment overseas.Axelrod criticized Romney as "a corporate raider" and said "bringing a Bain mentality" to running the economy undercuts Romney's candidacy.......']. The Romney team responded via spokesperson Andrea Saul.“Under President Obama, 25 million Americans are out of work, underemployed or have stopped looking for work. This war is dangerous to America because it’s based, not on gender equality, as Mr. Giuliani suggested, or any other kind of freedom, but simply because of what we do in the Islamic World because ‘we’re over there,’ basically, as Mr. Paul said in the debate.”
Scheuer also agreed with Dr. Paul’s statement in the debate that the war in Iraq was a diversion from capturing or killing Osama bin Laden and that bin Laden was “delighted” that the U.S. is occupying Iraq as it has become a training ground and recruiting tool for new jihadists joining the movement."

Romney may buy NH with money but he cannot win in SC and FL. Rick Perry will win in SC and FL, and get the GOP nod. Santorum voted for raising the debt celling for 5 times, and voted against "right to work state." He cannot win in NH, SC, or FL. He'll be out after FL primary. Gingrich has a lot of baggage, going nowhere. Forget about Huntsman.

The fact remains Santorum was buried by Casey. What make him think he can carry the country? How many jobs has Gingrich created compared to Romney? It is easy to see why Romney is the most realistic candidate to win. He was Mr. Composure last night just as he was this morning.
Dai Alanye | 1.8.12 @ 11:47AM
Santorum won four elections and lost one, while Romney has run four times and succeeded once. All these guys have lost an election here or there, except Huntsman the sycophant of Obama and Perry the one-time partisan of Gore. Even Reagan lost elections before going on to triumph in 1980.
And we all know Mitt Romney is no Ronald Reagan.
Mimi| 1.8.12 @ 1:33PM
He lost to Casey because...Casey led the prolife people in Pa. to believe he was as much pro-life as his father...a wonderful pro-life supporter, who was a Dem and badly treated by his Pro-Abortion Party. The fact remains, for all their sharp retort this morning, neither Gingrich or Santorum laid out solutions for the economy, and neither has ever been in a job-creating capacity. BOTH ARE Washington Beltway insiders compared to Romney, Perry, and Huntsman being the outsiders, and the latter two aren't faring very well.
Mimi| 1.8.12 @ 1:41PM

Pete| 1.8.12 @ 1:16PM
The GOP establishment has been telling us that Romney is the most electable candidate for about 6 months now. Its an assumption that Santorum and Newt need to challenge. Santorum looked more presidential than Romney last night and was quick on his feet. Romney seemed confused. Romney came in 3rd to the loser Mc Cain in 2008. Romney also bailed after 1 term as governor. In that term he charged the Massachusettes taxpayers for his presidential campaigning. This is a tactic our Senators do also. Get paid while not working. It gives them an unfair advantage.

RJ| 1.8.12 @ 4:24PM
I remember Bob Dornan from the late 1960s with his morning talk show. He was a good showman, but as an elected official, he lost a congressional district in Los Angeles county, moved to Orange County and ultimately lost his seat there as well. He was not an effective leader. I think he valued the stage too much for that. Sonny Bono, on the other hand, was more effective.

Romney is going to lose the election this coming in November. The conservatives and the Tea Party will stay at home on Election Day. Romney is not conservative. He is hurting the GOP. He should have join the Democratic Party and run against Obama in the primary election.
bill| 1.8.12 @ 10:40PM
m, I agree with you.
Also, Romney became the front runner because of a flawed GOP race and some flawed candidates like Huntsman, Santorum, Gingrich. Nobody likes Rick Perry because he's from TX, mistakenly presuming him be a Bush surrogate. He is a solid conservative and can defeat Obama handily. Romney may steal the GOP nod but will lose to Obama badly. Santorum, Gingrich, and Ron Paul will never get the GOP nod.
