With Mitt Romney so far ahead in the polls, the conventional wisdom is that the race for second place is really what matters in New Hampshire. But if conservatives aren’t careful, that’s how the entire race for the Republican presidential nomination will shape up.
From the beginning, the thinking has been that this will be a race between Romney and a conservative anti-Romney. So with rare, ineffectual exceptions — Tim Pawlenty’s abortive attack on “Obamneycare,” Rick Perry’s ham-fisted effort to bring up the illegal immigrants who did work at Romney’s house — the conservative candidates have attacked each other than Romney. The entire contest has focused on becoming the anti-Romney more than beating Romney himself.
So you have Perry campaigning in South Carolina, hoping that Romney will defeat Rick Santorum in a landslide so that he can claim to be the viable alternative again. You have Newt Gingrich seeming to bow out of a rumored non-agression pact with Santorum and engaging in an argument over who is more responsible for 1994. You have Ron Paul going negative against Gingrich and Santorum, with Gingrich and Santorum responding in kind.
That’s how you end up with a candidate who can’t seem to reliably get much more than 25 percent of the vote outside of New Hampshire looking like an unstoppable juggernaut. The fight to be the anti-Romney has driven down the numbers of each conservative aspirant, with Santorum likely to be the next target. Can Republicans break this cycle?

Ron Paul is doing everything right to get his message out clearly despite the MSM attempts to put him in a fruit basket (unsuccessfully) with the rest of the non-Romney GOP candidates. This consistent strategy will eventually put him in the office of POTUS. In the meantime Ron Paul supporters need to enjoy watching this parade of clowns trying to stay on a bycicle built for two.

I am no socialist. I have 2 pictures of myself with George and Barbra Bush. I probably gave 100,000 bucks to the Republican Party over the years. I voted Republican for President in the last 12 elections. Never again will I vote for filth like the Bush's, Dole, Romney, Santorum, and McCain. I should have voted the Constitution ticket starting in, at least 1992.

Ron Paul appears to be a decent man who is seeking the office of president, not for power, but because he believes he can be a force for good. That said, I don't think he has a chance for the nomination and unfortunately, because of the very strange Trotskyite tactics used against him, we have probably lost most of his supporters to the Libertarian party. It's starting to look like four more years of Obama and some of that good 'ol Tanzanian socialism.

As far as I'm concerned, any of the Republicans running right now(except Ron Paul because he's worse than weak where it counts to keep our country safe IMHO)~ are doing God's work in that they are actually running to become President of the United States of America.
God talks about this World and how it's in the power of the Evil one, the Devil. He also tells us that it is passing away, and it's just a matter of time before Christ returns and then the government shall be, "Upon His Shoulder." (Is. 9:6).
Until then we do the best we can with what we've got, and at this point in time, that's the Republicans who are running for that office.
I pray that we will be intelligent enough to vote for the Republican nominee, no matter who it turns out to be, in order to oust the unrepentant Socialist from OUR~ THE PEOPLE'S HOUSE~ and take it back, so that we can start the healing!!

Rush was talking about the belief in a STRONG government the other day. He said a strong gov. is good, as long as it's doing what it's supposed to do.
Something to that effect he said.
I agree. I want the gov. to be doing what it's supposed to be doing. and that's IT.
So, I'm not for BIG Gov., but for a strong gov. and especially one that has a President who believes in a STRONG military defense.
I'll vote for a Republican simply because they believe that far so more than any Democrat does.
And it's not just a strong military either, but to me, without that belief, a man isn't fit to be President.
Ron Paul doesn't believe that as far as I can see. He wants to defund the military.

Look, Rush couldn't be more wrong and at odds with the founders. A strong government IS big government. It is foolish to believe you can compartmentalize government and somehow only have it strong in some places and not others.
Jefferson said:"A government big enough to give you everything you need, is a government big enough to take away everything that you have...."
Rush either doesn't believe this or he is trying to play Clinton games with words like big and strong.

Rush does not understand the pathology of the State proven by thousands of years of history. Partisanship blinds you to the perils of the State, which is ultimately the tool of totalitarians. You think you can have a "strong military" without the consequences domestically? The Leviathan grows across the board, all of it at once. More soldiers means more "civilian" agencies too. This is what makes it a "complex", as in military/industrial complex. Just see history. As it has been so it will be.
Since the '60s we've been promised both guns and butter. The result: 16 Trillion in debt and growing by more than a trillion a year with no end in sight, no matter which of the crooks wins.
When "the voice of conservatism" starts advocating in behalf of the State while claiming to be a "small government conservative" it should prove what a confused mass of contradictions "conservatism" has petered down to. Seems you can be both big and small government and still be "conservative" these days.
I don't want big, or strong, or even no government. I just want what the founders claimed to give us, LIMITED government. This is impossible to have with government involved in all the personal problems of the world, including individuals and nations.
We are facing something almost unimaginable if drastic steps are not taken very soon. I see no possibility those steps will be taken by the pathetic Republicans any more than by insane Democrats.

From my perspective the following: If Romney is the nominee he must either be pressured to go RIGHT or one of two bad things will happen: He will lose because many Conservative voters will view him and Obama-light or if he wins he will not make enough changes to pull us back from the brink. Romney is a lose-lose situation. I would go further and say this: The Republican Party will be destroyed if Romney is the nominee and loses.
I personally would prefer a third Party movement To challenge the Socialists in both Parties. A Romney loss which be the second Establishment Presidential defeat McCain being the first in the past two elections and that one brought us Obama

No the issue is that Romney should receive let us say vetting that Cain and others have received. Romney is very weak and his own support of Romney Care is a gigantic problem. GALVESTON, Texas – An Army reservist who spoke up for Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul while in uniform – and landed in trouble for it – is just one of the soldiers getting behind the Texas congressman’s campaign.
Plenty of other troops simply send Paul some campaign cash.
Paul arrived Friday in New Hampshire riding the momentum of a top-three finish in Iowa, a fundraising haul of $13 million in the last quarter and bragging rights of having more donors who list military affiliations than his Republican rivals combined.
Paul received at least $95,567 from military donors between January and September of last year, the most recent data available, according to the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics. That’s nearly seven times what Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum, who edged out Paul in Iowa, collected from military donors combined.
Retired Army Sgt. Thomas Rutherford, whose campaign contribution of $201 hit the threshold for public disclosure under federal election law, believes soldiers started taking a closer look at Paul’s opposition to U.S. intervention after experiencing it firsthand.

This article is so bad I'm surprised Jeffy Lord didn't write it. The supposedly small amount equals small support? Paul received 71% of all donations given by military personnel so adding the other 29% still wouldn't be much bigger, meaning, using this writer's "logic" the military doesn't support anybody! Hardly true, huh?
After I finished laughing at that came this:"...there is a concerted effort by Ron Paul supporters in the military to make sure that their donations are listed as coming from military personnel..." Since there is no corroborating evidence presented, no polls, no cited sources, we are supposed to take his word for that. Everybody else in the military wants to be secret when they donate to candidates, except Paul's guys? On the other hand, I'd want it to be secret if I gave any of my money to any of these sociopath millionaires running for sock puppet in chief.
Then he tries to say the donations to the others was "done through their spouses" and was "in their(spouses) names". The hits keep coming from this genius. The Paul supporters are prohibited from doing the same, I suppose? Is that some kind of law?

Romney will buy NH with money and voter fraud, but he will have hard time selling his RomneyCare to the Evangelic voters in SC, and will lose to Rick perry big time. Losing SC will halt Romney-train, and Perry will rebound and win FL, despite of negative ad by the Romney campaign airing in the large FL media market, Perry will win because of his southern heritage and conservative credentials. Santorum will be in the 2nd place in NH, but cannot win SC because his fiscal policy is outdated, and will be in the 3rd place in FL, because he lacks money and organization. Gingrich will evaporate by this time. Ron Paul will never get the nominee, who cares.
