Megyn Kelly at FNC just said that Michele Bachmann will finish last in tonight’s Iowa Caucus (Jon Huntsman can’t be said to have actually campaigned in Iowa.)

It is a remarkable reversal of fortune. In five months, Bachmann went from winning the Iowa Straw Poll to grasping at straws. Her decline began the moment Rick Perry jumped into the race and she never recovered. Bachmann’s staffing issues didn’t help her cause either.

Her campaign was something of a paradox. While she did damage against Perry, Cain, Gingrich and Paul in the debates she derived no benefit from her critiques.

I can’t see her carrying on from here. Should she drop out I predict she will endorse Romney and be in consideration to be his running mate if he wins the GOP nomination.

She should've gone to a voice coach before she ran for President (Margret Thatcher went to one too, so it's not unheard of), because her voice makes you want to rip your hair out. Which kind of makes it hard to listen to her fiscal and foreign policy messages, when you're screaming in pain, with blood running down your face, and a clump of hair in your hands. And another thing, she's a pretty Lady, there's no doubt about that, but she's got wild crazy eyes!! So I ended up watching her crazy eyes, while ripping my hair out, and screaming!! So I never understood a single thing she said about anything!! Oh yeah, and I'm completely bald now!!

"...because her voice makes you want to rip your hair out...."

.... and so the apparent winner's voice is any better? Have you listened to Ron Paul screech?

Sounds to me like a double standard.

Game's not over yet; except for Bachmann. Sigh.

It's just the first quoter, still three more to go. So, hang on!

Right now, it's Santorum, Romney, then Paul, with the Western Districts, which are strongly socially Conservative, yet to report. It's close as anything, though. But it looks like the Razor called the top 3, with Paul as Third! Tonight, the Merkavas Roll!

Huckabee won the IA Caucus and lost to McCain in 2008. Iowans failed to determine the GOP nominee in several occasions. It doesn't matter who win in IA, it all depends who wins SC and FL, McCain won both in 2008 and sealed the deal.
I hope Rick Perry will rebound and carry SC, FL, and get the GOP nod.
Michelle Bachmann needs to focus on SC and FL, her last hope.

This is a great test for how much she does Romney's bidding.

If she stays in the race, then it's clear as the noon sun that she's working for his advantage, so as to disperse attention during the debates, so as to further disperse all opposition against him, and so as to eat up precious media time remaining.

If she splits tonight, ------ that will betoken something too.

Palin called for her to drop out, and in as much as she's a 2 term Congresswoman, with nothing else to her resume, she should have dropped out weeks ago when it was clear she's going nowhere fast.

Iowans are to be applauded by the way for finally seeing through her.

Bob Grant| 1.3.12 @ 10:00PM

I suppose Palin has anointed herself THE political guru during the remainder of the primary season.

I gotta give her credit. She's making the most of her mediocre talents.

Dan| 1.3.12 @ 9:40PM

And Aaron, she'll never be considered by Romney for the ticket.

When you can go with a Susanne Martinez, -------- or the Florida Lieutenant Governor, why waste time with a woman who hasn't worn well.

No one is going to confuse Bachmann with GHWB in 1980.

Romney has both New Hampshire and S.C. sewn up, Clint. You really won't know what hit you. I'll take into account you don't know who you're talking to when you use the term "girlie-boy". Paul has a bad Liberace type whine, that is all I'm inferring. Romney has the smarts, the money, and the organization(plus he is far more ruthless than you know) to easily go all the way. And I'll enjoy watching your type moan along that rocky way.

somnolence| 1.3.12 @ 11:06PM

I particularly enjoy running my mouth against those who like to wear their religion on their sleeve, as does Perry. Remember, he kicked off his campaign with a televised event surrounding this. I'm not impressed, so I'll stick with the Mormon this time. Thought you especially, Clint, would like to hear that.
