With 2011 drawing to a close, people are writing up year end
lists. I am no exception to this and have just finished up a year
end list of my own concerning the worst of President Obama in 2011
which I hope will be up on the main site either tomorrow or
Thursday.
In this vein, CBS News has come out with a year end list of its
top
fifteen political gaffes of 2011. Of the fifteen gaffes CBS
chose to highlight, eleven of them were committed by Republicans.
President Obama only makes the list once for “accidentally”
signing the Westminster Abbey guestbook with the year 2008. Former
New York Congressman Anthony Weiner makes
the list for obvious reasons as did Vice-President Biden for
claiming
that murder and rape would increase if President Obama’s jobs
bill wasn’t passed. French President Nicolas Sarkozy also made the
list for being overheard calling
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a liar at the G-20 Summit
in Cannes. Yet Sarkozy said this to Obama and yet Obama isn’t
faulted for his part in the conversation in which he said, “You’re
fed up, I have to deal with him everyday.”
Now, of course, there are Republicans that deserve to be on the
list (i.e. Rick Perry’s brain
freeze and Michele Bachmann claiming the
shot heard round the world was fired in Concord, New Hampshire
rather than in Concord, Massachusetts.)
But I think President Obama stating during the APEC Summit that
he met with world leaders “here in Asia”
when he was standing in Hawaii is a pretty significant omission. If
any of the GOP candidates for President had made that statement it
would have made the list, if not the very top of it.

Paul and Obama are getting free rides---Paul because the MSM would love to see him take on Obama---he would be ground to a pulp. His baggage from the Newsletters he made tons of money from while not editing them (or editing them with the skill of a chimpaNAZI), will get him destroyed. The boy can claim 20% of 1/2 of the electorate, and he's the ionly republican candidate who can make Republicans vote for Obama instead.
Fortunately, the weather outlook is good for January 3rd, and we are 7 days out.

" The survey finds Paul’s small government attitudes and straight-talking approach are his clearest strengths. More than half of all Republicans and GOP-leaning independents say his views on limited government are a major reason to support him; fewer than one in five hold such views against him."

Too bad he will be 78 next year. His son would be far better.

Ham Sandwich would be much better.

I guess Biden's latest about the Taliban not really being our enemy didn't make the cut, but Romney's "$10,000 bet" is one of his two entries.

Admittedly, "Brain Freeze" Biden's "Open Mouth-Insert Foot" comments ought to top anyone's "best of" lists. And while it wouldn't qualify for the 2011 rankings, B.F.'s invitation to a man sitting in a wheel chair and asked to ... "stand up" far surpasses any slip-ups ol' Dan Quayle might have made. But the Obama bu-t boys at CBS, et al wouldn't DARE list those in their annual stack of stuff. Too icky for "their" guy.
I kind of long for the day when the NBC's and the rest of the alphabet networks find the integrity to renamed their (alleged) news coverage what it actually is: Spin, opinion and filtered commentary.
What was it the bandito in Bogy's Treasure of the Sierra Madre yelled at him? Oh, yeah. "Real nooz? We don't got to geeve ju' no stinkin' real nooz."
For now, though, I'll just keep watching for that pink pig to come flyin' over my house. I think it's name is Scott or Diane. Oh, Brian? Yeah, that's the one!

CBS News itself is gaffes-to-go.

Not only does CBS reveal its bias by inserting the word "accidentally" re the Westminster signing (by definition, all "gaffes" involve some element of "accident"), but they completely ignore Obama continuing with his toast to the Queen as the band starts to play the British national anthem.
And in a better time CBS might also have noted Obama delivering a Thanksgiving address without mentioning God.
