Here’s yet another reason why I don’t care for the UN.

Today, the UN General Assembly held a moment of silence for Kim Jong-Il.

Then again when the leaders of Cuba, Nicaragua, Venezuela and Zimbabwe see fit to pay tribute to Kim can we really be surprised if the UN follows suit?

Now apparently this moment of silence was requested by the North Korean delegation. Granted many nations boycotted including the United States boycotted the tribute. But it isn’t helpful when UN Deputy Secretary General Asha Rose-Migiro when signs a condolence book at North Korea’s UN mission nor is it helpful when former President Jimmy Carter extends his condolences to a tyrant. All it does is confer legitimacy upon Kim Jong-Il and gives a boost to Kim Jong-Un.

Blasphemy!!
But then, what else is new with the U.N.???

Al Adab| 12.23.11 @ 12:06PM

Margie,
Did you see the blasphemous locker room scene concerning Tebow and Christ? Horrid indeed.

Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Margie| 12.23.11 @ 4:33PM

No, Al, thankfully I haven't, and don't want to see it. Sounds like something that was on t.v., which we don't have.. and I've been so busy I haven't even gone to Drudge yet today!!

Merry Christmas, Al, to you & yours.
I'm thankful to Jesus that He keeps us in Him.

I just received a cartoon depicting the Christmas manger scene in a storefront window, while a family walks by. The family small child is procliaming, LOOK DADDY, THEY'RE TEBOWING!!!!!!!!!

The UN is a haven for mass murderers and dictators. That they have a minute of silence for one of their own says it all. Why the US considers membership as paramount in such a body is incomprehensible. I can readily understand the failure of the League of Nations in the Senate. Being there to talk is not worth the membership. Sad how the UN started to stop wars around the planet as a result of the lessons learned (and since forgotten) during WWII.

The UN is a cesspool and it's time to drain the swamp. Corruption to the hilt and financed (to a large degree) by you and me.

A proper tribute would have been a moment of nuclear vaporization of Pyongyang. That's a tribute I could support!

Carter is a rancid scumbag, like his good friend of foreign policy, Ron "Treason's Friend" Paul.

Let's not do that. There appears to be many rivers containing many trout. The fly fishing would be spectacular, I'm thinking.

How about we invade and enjoy the natural resources.

...before the Chinese do.

Stand up and boo the rotten, nut-bag, sonuvabitch!!!!!

Hold a moment of silence for the poor people of that prison camp of a country.

Al Adab| 12.23.11 @ 11:10AM

In the world of moral equivalence this of course makes sense. just wait for the lying in state when Castro departs. In the fantasy world of the UN, all leaders are the same which is why they tolerate Achmadbinedad.

The question is why we bother to host the HQ and finance the anti-western, anti-american diatribes from the general assembly.

Margie| 12.23.11 @ 4:36PM

I say we disband the U.N. and then bulldoze the building into the East River.

What actual good is it, anyway??

Oldefarte| 12.23.11 @ 4:59PM

No doubt our government's current administration also had their hand-over-heart during this moment of slience tribute!!!!

Richard Baker| 12.23.11 @ 10:55PM

The building on Turtle Bay should be vacated and the Assembly start holding its meetings in Pyongyang.

Don Zunker| 12.25.11 @ 1:45PM

Question: Did the UN hold a minute of silence when that clown that ran Libya, the one who spells his name 20 differents ways, was killed by his own people.

Question: Did the UN hold a minute of silence when Sadat, was killed by his own troops?

Question: Did the UN hold a minute of silence for all of those killed in Japan?

IF they do the same for all, it's hard to critcize...

However, some this planet's best are far more worthy than all the clowns, who make news, because they have a title attached to their name.

And doubt anybody was heard saying, "rot in hell."
