You probably know by now that President Obama told Steve Kroft in an unaired portion of his 60 Minutes interview earlier this month that he had accomplished more in his first two years in office than any other President “”with the possible exceptions of Johnson, F.D.R., and Lincoln.”

John Hinderaker of Powerline (who drew everyone’s attention to this display of immodesty) does a nice job of comparing Obama’s first two years in office with that of Ronald Reagan.

Well, it’s good to know that President Obama believes that signing the Stimulus Bill into law is a greater accomplishment than George Washington presiding over the passage of the Bill of Rights.

It’s good to know that President Obama believes that caving into Russia on ballistic missile defense is a greater foreign policy achievement than the Louisiana Purchase under President Thomas Jefferson.

It’s good to know that President Obama believes that apologizing for America’s sins, real or imagined, did more good than President John F. Kennedy establishing the Peace Corps.

If Reagan were still around to hear Obama’s bragging I suspect he would say, “There he goes again.”

I suppose the President received a lot slaps on the back as he moved through our educational system. What else is he supposed to think?

Interesting, the most controversial comments from the interview didn't make it to actual segment.

Was it because 60 minutes was protecting Obama from himself because it makes him appear like the arrogant S.O.B that he is, or did they attempt to protect the interviewer because he/she did not diligently followup with a "...did you just say...?" question, out of fear of appearing too in the tank for Obama?

I have yet to hear any commentary regarding the current occupant of the Oval Office selecting LBJ as an accomplished president whose achievements possibly surpass his own. While he was effective at getting much of his legislative agenda passed, Johnson had a democratic Congress and Senate. The legacy of his "Great Society" and "War on Poverty"is increased poverty, the erosion of the family, and ever expanding national debt. Come to think of it, at least with this example, maybe BHO is on to something, but then, LBJ had 5 years to wreak his havoc.

In a more important communication, The Chinese Restaurant Association praises the Jews on Christmas. (Made up by David Mamet originally, but apparently real signs have been appearing.)

Or, as portrayed famously in "A Christmas Story" FA RA RA RA RA RA RA RA RA.

You win a Major Award for that comment.

I suggest the House pass a resolution to add Obama's bust (and ears) to Mount Rushmore. The Narcissist in Chief would have a breakdown deciding how to handle it, plus it would be one of the greatest examples of political irony ever conceived.

This gutless poser claims, as his one achievement, that he stood up to Osama --- and remotely had him assassinated.

But this gutless (and complicit) pawn of Empire never had the guts, on coming into office like FDR, to challenge the disguised global corporate/financial/militarist EMPIRE that was killing our country right under his nose --- mainly because the Empire 'owns him'.

In point of fact the two-party 'Vichy Empire' that placed this pawn in the office of faux-Emperor/president, the camouflaged corporate/financial/militarist Empire, is the singular and 'causal' cancerous tumor that causes all of the 'symptom problems' like; increasing foreign imperialist oil wars, Wall Street 'looting', vast economic inequality, domestic spying, lying, and police-state tyranny, environmental destruction, and all the other issues that Occupy Empire bravely protests.

Best luck and love to Occupy Empire.

Liberty, democracy, justice, and equality
Over
Violent/Vichy
Empire,

PS. Bipartisan 'Vichy Empire' fools all the people, all the time. But can't fool, Occupy Empire.
