Well.

So Ron Paul is picking up steam in Iowa. May even be a frontrunner.

And here he is (beginning at 4:06 in the video) saying of Bradley Manning, the U.S. soldier who leaked thousands of pages of classified U.S. government documents to Wikileaks, that Manning is a “true patriot” and a “political hero.”

I kid you not.

Here’s the link to the video. Wait ‘til Newt, Mitt, Rick, Rick, Michele, and Jon hear about this.

While Clint loses an argument with himself, he has unwittingly provided me with the best evidence to date that Ron Paul is unfit to be President. My next article demolishing Ron Paul will be based on this video that uses Paul's own words against him, to devastating effect: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igQlbesF0zA

Jack in Wi.| 12.21.11 @ 12:22AM

Jeff Lord is another Zionist who can't stand the fact that American people are finally done with Israel and the money and blood it costs us. Remember the Liberty and how it's men were treated by our own government. Remmeber Jonathon Pollard and all the American agents killed when the mossad sold them out to the soviets. Remember the 5 dancing Israeli's on 9/11 on the Jersey shore high fiving and celebrating as the World Trade Center collapsed. If Pollard is a hero to Zionists, Manning is a hero to all patriotic Americans who love the truth.

Jack in Wi.| 12.21.11 @ 8:52AM

General douglas MacArtur said when he was fired for defying the orders of Truman." I swore an oath to the Constitution not to the tempory head of state. " Soldiers have a duty to their country, the Constitution and the moral law. Manning had a responsibilty to get out the truth about the criminals who run this country.

W| 12.21.11 @ 3:50PM

Jack, You have to be kidding. You are comparing Manning to McArthur???
McArthur wanted to attack the Chinese not give our secrets to the Chinese.

Nicki | 12.22.11 @ 11:42AM

ARE YOU SERIOUS?????

Manning didn't do this out of a responsibility to get any kind of truth out, nor did he do it because he felt our government was behaving criminally! Did you READ the logs of Manning's conversations with Adrian Lamo?

http://www.wired.com/threatlev.....-lamo-logs

Manning didn't do this out of any sense of obligation! He downloaded everything he could find and gave it en masse to Assange. He wanted to appear important, nothing more. And the information he revealed didn't serve to paint our leaders as "criminals."

What he did do was reveal names of sensitive sources.

What he did do was endanger the families of assets in Afghanistan.

What he did do was reveal a list of sensitive sites that our allies consider critical to national security.

And what he did do is make public private communications between State Department employees.

Additionally, what he did do was violate his contract with the Army to keep sensitive information secret.

He's not a hero. He's a criminal, and a disgusting, whining piece of crap who decided to get back at Uncle Sam for not treating him like his mommy and daddy would.

And Ron Paul supports this bastard?

You Ron Paul zealots simply don't get it!

I used to be a Ron Paul supporter, but after this, he's dead to me!

David W| 12.21.11 @ 9:03AM

Please provide proof of "5 dancing Israeli's" (not sure how you would know they were Israelis). I saw the clips of hundreds of Palestinians dancing in the street - hundreds versus 5 (there's the pesky moral equivalency of the marching morons). Manning is a traitor - he (or she, whichever) gave away classified documents. You will have to eventually face it - Mr. Paul, if he somehow gains the GOP nomination, will do two terrible things - guarantee Obama a second term and will destroy the GOP (okay, maybe the second isn't so bad if it can get rid of the RINOs).

Jack in Wi.| 12.21.11 @ 9:15AM

Fox News had a 4 day report on the Five Dancing Israeli's who were memers of the Mossad. It was reported by Carl Cameron on the Brit hume news show, shortly afer 9/11. There were many other stories written at the time. I saw all the reports on Fox and there was far more then that on them. It was truely horrifying. It was the most defestating attack on Israel that I ever saw in the American media.I have always wondered why Rupert Murdoch let it be put on the air. My only guess is that he was blackmailing the Israeli's. Because in a few weeks he went all Israel all the time. Google Five Dancing Israeli's. You will get hundreds of thousands of hits.

Troofers Are Doofers| 12.21.11 @ 11:29AM

Googling turns up a lot of loony truther sites. I don't believe Fox would have covered this, at least not in a positive way. Prove it.

Stop lying. The Liberty was an accident, like when we shoot at/bomb our own troops; no Israelis were dancing when 9/11 happened (maybe you confused them with the Arabs in Gaza?), & the only "Mossad" who sold out America were Soviet spies who told Pollard they were Mossad. Pollard is still guilty, but DO stop lying, you pathetically transparent Jew-hater.

This story comes as no surprise to me, but few remember that Ron Paul voted during last year's lame duck session to force homosexuality upon our combat troops against their will, their commanders, chaplains, veteran's groups, and every Christian I know of. Social Liberal and military hater Ron Paul once again voted with his Liber-al cousins and against our troops. Ron Paul is not only a genocide enabler, he is also a Bradley Manning enabler, and I hope to see him indicted for treason someday soon, along with Obama...

MickVet| 12.20.11 @ 10:40PM

Martin | 12.20.11 @ 8:57PM

However the electorate didn't hold Obama responsible for Wright and Ayres, so why should we confine ourselves to milquetoast candidates who don't offend the PC crowd?

Tom| 12.20.11 @ 9:20PM

No, liberals did not, but conservatives did. If it is legitimate for us to do so to Obama, then it most certainly--and NECESSARY--to do so to someone seeking the Republican nomination.

The Bruce| 12.21.11 @ 1:07AM

Um, the majority of the "electorate" watches the MSM, along with Survivor and Dancing with the Stars.

The majority of the "electorate" couldn't name the VP if their lives depended on it. Nor the Speaker, or Senate Majority Leader.

This is precisely why the Constitution puts the election of the President in the hands of the Electoral College, and not the collective "mob" of the popular vote (although the Electoral College generally votes in the direction of the "mob").

The reason for this is fraud. And, on a number of occasions, the Electoral College has overridden the popular vote.

The Bruce| 12.21.11 @ 1:10AM

I forgot to mention that the reason for this is Republicanism vs. Democracy (the rule of law vs. the rule of the mob).

I could only hope that people like Alan Brooks would look those terms up.

Valour thieves abound amongst the ranks of regressives & Paulites. Big deal. Paul was an Air Force OBGYN who entered & left as a captain (O-3 in the Air Force). Some dedication to the service, ain't it? Even people in the medical/dental corps of each service decide to stay in longer than that. My father was a Navy dentist, deployed on the Saratoga during Vietnam, stayed in for 20 years, got his own command at NAS Millington & retired as a captain (O-6 in the Navy/Marine corps).

Excuse me while I don't get all hyped up for a permanent Air Force captain.

Wow - It's one thing to espouse the Taft tradition of "isolationism" or non-interventionism.

This is on a different scale.

Clint| 12.20.11 @ 9:50PM

" Nonintervention or non-interventionism is a foreign policy which holds that political rulers should avoid alliances with other nations, but still retain diplomacy, and avoid all wars not related to direct self-defense. This is based on the grounds that a state should not interfere in the internal politics of another state, based upon the principles of state sovereignty and self-determination. A similar phrase is "strategic independence". Historical examples of supporters of non-interventionism are US Presidents George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, who both favored nonintervention in European Wars while maintaining free trade. Other proponents include United States Senator Robert Taft and United States Congressman Ron Paul.

Nonintervention is distinct from isolationism, the latter featuring economic nationalism (protectionism) and restrictive immigration. Proponents of non-interventionism distinguish their policies from isolationism through their advocacy of more open national relations, to include diplomacy and free trade."

Ron Paul's "foreign policy" is handing out a bunch of reset buttons (made in China no doubt) putting heads in sand (or other dark places).

What I agree with on his fiscal and monetary policies are trumped by his insanely naive global outlook which makes him completely unelectable.

So the question is: why are continually talking about this guy when we could talk about other unelectable candidates such as John Huntsman or Rick Santorum?

Funny how the State doesn't like their little secrets getting out there for all the little people to see. In general, I support the release of the documents although they should be sifted through for real security concerns and not just dumped willy nilly. That said, Manning is an oath breaker and shouldn't be called a hero although the end result, the release of the wikileak documents, is largely a good thing.

MickVet| 12.20.11 @ 11:19PM

Its a dilemma for sure...

On one hand it does compromise our troops on the ground, on the other hand most the time our troops shouldn't be there getting killed in the first place...Iraq (WMD's), Vietnam (Gulf of Tonkin), ect..

I guess I'll side with avoiding conflicts that kill our brothers, fathers, mothers, sisters and children, and do not truly promote our national defense

"But there remains an American Empire, still growing — though expanding through the acquisition of client states, rather than through settlement of American populations abroad … In short, although we never talk about our empire, a tremendous American Empire has come into existence — if, like the Roman Empire, in a kind of fit of absence of mind. No powerful counterpoise to the American hegemony seems to remain, what with the enfeebling of the U.S.S.R."

"True, we did not suffer a long war in the deserts of Kuwait and Iraq. But we must expect to suffer during a very long period of widespread hostility toward the United States -- even, or perhaps especially, from the people of certain states that America bribed or bullied into combining against Iraq.

In Egypt, in Syria, in Pakistan, in Algeria, in Morocco, in all of the world of Islam, the masses now regard the United States as their arrogant adversary; while the Soviet Union, by virtue of its endeavors to mediate the quarrel in its later stages, may pose again as the friend of Moslem lands. Nor is this all: for now, in every continent, the United States is resented increasingly as the last and most formidable of imperial systems."

Matthew Quigley| 12.21.11 @ 9:37AM

Bradley Manning is no hero. ANY service member who disseminates classified documents is at bare minimum a felon, and if those documents happen to include materials germane to an operation and result in troops dying because of that dissemination, that service member is default guilty of espionage. Espionage has always been handled with the utmost harshness during time of war. Maj. John Andre was hanged by the Continental Army when he was caught with the plans for the defense of West Point during the Revolution. Andre asked to be shot as a soldier because in his mind he was carrying out a military mission. George Washington had Andre hanged as a spy, which is what Andre was, because Andre's actions (and Benedict Arnold's) had led to deaths of Continental Army soldiers.

Bradley Manning was a far worse case than John Andre, since Andre was British and Manning was a soldier in the US Army. Manning's actions KILLED American soldiers and Marines. THAT is NOT the action of a hero, but rather the act of a TRAITOR. To call someone as low as Manning a hero is plumbing the depths of irresponsibility and is akin to calling Jane Fonda a hero for denouncing the United States from a perch in Hanoi, or saying that Tokyo Rose was just exercising her First Amendment right to support a government which was at war with the United States. Treason is intolerable...period. Espionage against your own country is intolerable...period. Supporting and lionizing a traitor is intolerable...period. That's the point which seems to have been deviated from in this thread.

C Bowen | 12.21.11 @ 9:48AM

Doug Feith, Richard Perle, Dick Cheney, Michael Ledeen, David Wurmser, James Woolsey, Laurie Mylroie, Ken Timmerman, Jed Babbin (on the Pentagon payroll), convicted felon Larry Franklin, Eliot Abrahms, Paul Wolfowitz, Bill Kristol, Stephen Hayes, Don Rumsfeld, Micahel Maloof (just getting started) conspired to leak illegally gathered cherry picked intelligence to link Saddam to 9/11.

Give them all the same treatment as Manning, and I'll believe the posturing coming from the Jeff Lord chickenhawks.

Todd S| 12.21.11 @ 11:01AM

You Paulbots disgust me, even worse than the MSNBC watching Obama lovers. Only Ron Paul can make Obama look good in comparison when it comes to foreign policy, lionizing a scumbag like Manning and ALWAYS blaming America, it is sick stuff.

HumanPerson| 12.21.11 @ 12:23PM

And you making excuses for lawbreaking is so endearing!

Todd S| 12.21.11 @ 12:36PM

Wait, didn't that little turd Manning break the law and put many lives in danger because of his traitorous acts? Keep screaming all you want about the "neocons", you people are a joke.

C Bowen | 12.21.11 @ 12:50PM

If he did, the Military justice system will make their case.

In the meantime, we know the, to use your term, neocons lied the country into a $4 trillion dollar debt financed invasion of a secular, now Islamic state, that killed thousands of Americans, hundered thousand Iraqi civillians, and maimed hundreds of thousands more.

Why don't you care about that?

Todd S| 12.21.11 @ 1:20PM

I guess you wish Saddam was still alive and using every means at his disposal to support terrorism and felt Hans Blix had everything under control. Neocons is not my term but Paul supporters and the hard left obsess about it and have alot in common with the Islamist when it comes to Jew hatred. Your $4 trillion is a made up number, the amount is around $1 trillion since 2003. Btw, national defense spending is constitutional. Are you aware that defense spending made up 50% of the budget in 1960 and is well under 20% now? Rather absurd to blame our deficit on military spending whether you agree with the Iraq war or not.

C Bowen | 12.21.11 @ 1:29PM

I wish my fellow countrymen were still alive and the trillions still in the treasury. Your $1 trillion figure does not include the cost to repair equipment, provide long term medical care, and the embassy.

You on the otherhand, suggest that it is okay to illegally lie your own country into war.

Sick--all because you thought Saddam was mean or believed lies from the Iranian agent Chalabi which the neocons, your term, recycled.

Todd S| 12.21.11 @ 1:26PM

Also to note that Ron Paul is celebrating Manning for what he is accused of doing, a true hero according to him. Ron Paul's views on foreign policy are the ravings of a subversive lunatic.

C Bowen | 12.21.11 @ 1:32PM

Manning hasn't been charged of murder, nor lying his country into war.

Do you think Don Rumsfeld is a hero?

For using illegal methods to lie his country into war?

Todd S| 12.21.11 @ 1:48PM

Please tell exactly what Rumsfield has been charged with? The answer is nothing despite your lunatic ravings. Manning is clearly a traitor which is a capital offense, he deserves to be shot. I guess that would make him a martyr to people like you though it won't happen because military courts have been politicized.

C Bowen | 12.21.11 @ 2:06PM

Rumsfeld is protected, doesn't mean he isn't guilty of treason--setting up a policy shop illegally to produce propaganda masquerading as intelligence--that is against the law.

Do you not yet get the whole Ruling Class vs Country Class thing that is popular on this web site?

Rumsfeld et al could very well face criminal charges in the future for his conduct, which is why his lackeys are so scared (even more scared then they were of Saddam.)

Todd S| 12.21.11 @ 5:18PM

What is your evidence of this? I believe many people saw the same intelligence as he did and there is no evidence he personally was involved in faking any intelligence. Funny you would make excuses for someone that is clearly a traitor but will make false charges against those because you don't agree politically. You are no better than the whacked out left foaming at the mouth about Halliburton. I don't think Rumsfeld has anything to worry about because there is no evidence of any such thing except in your demented mind.

C Bowen | 12.21.11 @ 6:07PM

Are you joking? Rumsfeld set up an office in the Pentagon, the Office of Special Plans, staffed by Maloof, Feith and Franklin--Franklin later convicted of espionage--with the purpose of connecting Iraq to 9/11.

While they had no legal right to collect intelligence, they did so, and leaked a document to the Weekly Standard which the sitting Vice President sited in a news conference--this is illegal.

It's a crime--treason, when one considers they were lying their own country into war. They practically bragged about it--even an insider like Bob Woodward captured it.

Plenty of things for Rumsfeld to be concerned about--and I should mention, Rumsfeld leaked classified documents in his new book--why isn't he in solitary with Manning?

As an aside, do you read any books? I haven't even brought up more spurious charges and allegations, but it doesn't appear you are even loosely familiar with the early part of the past decade.

tonypal| 12.21.11 @ 12:31PM

Evidence please.

C Bowen | 12.21.11 @ 1:13PM

They Knew They Were Right: The Rise of the Neocons (Heilbrunn) is a good start--should be able to find that on google books at no charge.

If you want evidence, if you at all care about treason, do some follow up research after.

tonypal| 12.21.11 @ 4:06PM

You're the one who made the charge, so you ought to supply the evidence. Why should I or anyone else have to take the time to make your case for you? Unless of course you're lying.

C Bowen | 12.21.11 @ 4:10PM

If you don't care, then nothing I can supply in a comment section will change your mind--do you get the concept?

How little do you care about your own country...

Todd S| 12.21.11 @ 5:40PM

I looked into this author and he is a parrot of Ron Paul, Iran is no threat according to him though Israel and a number of other Middle Eastern countries (Saudi Arabia especially) would strongly disagree. He seems to believe that the leaders of Iran are very reasonable people though all evidence shows otherwise. Everything they say and do indicates that they are serious in wanting to destroy Israel and that is why they are desperate to acquire nuclear weapons. Anyone that thinks it is perfectly fine to let Iran develop nuclear weapons is a deluded fool.

C Bowen | 12.21.11 @ 6:09PM

Iran just mastered 8-bit technology.

Anyone who believes Iran is capable of building a bomb let alone a system to deliver it, is a dupe, or a sheeple.

Didn't we hear this crap about Iraq from Clinton and Kerry and Albright always going on about Iraq's WMDs? And it was a lie.

Todd S| 12.21.11 @ 8:26PM

This is not 1960 moron, crapholes like Pakistan and North Korea have nuclear bombs and Iran would very much like to join that list and will shortly unless Israel stops in like they did in Iraq in the 1980's. Everyone else is lying apparently besides your hero Ron Paul since he is the source of all light and truth. Like he says, the mad mullahs of Iran who believe it is their duty to bring about the apocalypse have just as much as right as us to have nuclear weapons. It is our fault after all, not the fact they are crazed Islamo-Nazis.

C Bowen | 12.22.11 @ 5:21AM

Everyone else? No just a small percentage of soccermoms and the like are scared of Iran.

C Bowen | 12.21.11 @ 6:11PM

The back issues of The American Conservative, 2002-2008, are also an excellent source for research on the lies told about scary Iraq.

Anommynous| 12.21.11 @ 10:08AM

WOW. So would a President Ron Paul pardon Bradley Manning?

9thID| 12.21.11 @ 10:25AM

Neo-Liberal Capt'n Ron voted to force homosexuality upon the troops last lame duck session. Paul would not only pardon him, he would make him Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff...

martin j smith| 12.21.11 @ 10:40AM

To anyone who ask where is the media coverage I say: We have no media coverage. If by Media you mean news versus propaganda. We have one big propaganda machine against us. That is the truth.

martin j smith| 12.21.11 @ 11:40AM

Ron Paul (= Obama ) I predict will run third party.
He is a toad and a turd.

Ed| 12.21.11 @ 11:48AM

Have any of the paultards addressed his actual hero worship of the traitorous Manning?

Matthew Quigley| 12.21.11 @ 11:56AM

No, they sure haven't. They can't dare address the actual issue because it would lay bare Paul's indefinsible positions on national security.

Ed| 12.21.11 @ 12:04PM

What's most interesting about the protection of Paul's insanity by the mainstream media is how transparent it is. Paul appears to the demented and insane wing of the Republican Party that sits in their basements stewing in the jew hatred. He wouldn't stand a chance in an actual election when the spotlight is thrown on his traitorous pronouncements but, for now, he serves Obama's purpose.

David| 12.21.11 @ 1:13PM

It's somewhat indicative of the sorry state of debating skills when you read adolescent level hijacking of the author's name to make asinine and childish remarks rather than debating him with facts and logic. I haven't determined whether it's a step above or a step below snarky ad hominem attacks launched when the intellectual quiver is empty while attempting to defend one's belief -- both are rather poor substitutes for mature thought.

And no, I very seldom agree with neocons like Jeffrey Lord, but at at least I try to answer with some intelligence rather than childish outbursts.

Ward Bond| 12.21.11 @ 1:16PM

A little light on Ron Paul. I don't like what I see.

Indy| 12.21.11 @ 3:45PM

Just came across an old RP video, what else is out there? His foreign policy is a show stopper for me, I agree there is much the media has not reported on, shine the light indeed. Has this debating style shown up in more recent elections than 1988?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v.....e=youtu.be

Kevin Crag| 12.21.11 @ 1:37PM

The mention of Ron Paul brings all the neo-Nazi roaches out of the woodwork. They are sick people who need a bogeyman to blame for their own inadequacies.

Kevin Crag| 12.21.11 @ 1:47PM

I wonder how many of the Paultards voting in Iowa are anti-war Democrats intent on elevating the loon to prominence while the leftstream media look the other way?

Matthew Quigley| 12.21.11 @ 3:38PM

Quite a few, since many caucuses and primaries are open.

Indy| 12.21.11 @ 3:50PM

Obama won Iowa + 10%, yes there will be cross overs. Remember Senator Tom Harkin, hard left progressive represents this state. Did you see this from big government, OSW / anonymous plans to participate

"The hacking collective known as Anonymous has allegedly targeted the Iowa caucus’s voting machines"

http://biggovernment.com/cjohn.....-caucuses/

Ivan| 12.21.11 @ 4:51PM

Yes, they are going to prevent a rock solid conservative Mitt Romney, who would argue convincingly and credibly for the abolition of Obamneycare, as well as for conservative social values. Obama is scared of Romney, and maybe even more from our glorious Freddie-Nancy Newt. Those crazy Paultarts...

Occam's Tool| 12.21.11 @ 3:56PM

If Paul doesn't win in Iowa he's toast. And, pardon me, but PPP is a lousy polling group. Rasmussen is far more accurate...and they've got Romney up by 5.

If I were Romney, I'd be playing the Paul video on Manning 24/7 on the web, and ALL the time on TV.

I.B. Freeman| 12.21.11 @ 9:10PM

Can anyone point me to the section of the video where Paul mentions Manning??? It is almost a year old. Is this a hatchet job?

Richard D Volkman| 12.22.11 @ 12:14PM

Gingrich is right about the Courts
Talking head attorneys complain there is no precedent for calling a Judge to testify.
There would be no judicial precedent because the action is a Congressional action, not a court case.
The Constitution creates the Supreme Court, and permits Congress to create inferior federal courts.
The federal courts serve at the pleasure of Congress.
Congress can abolish any Federal Court and can create any Federal court.
Judges can be called to testify before Congress. Only the foolish would put up a fight.
Gingrich is right in his understanding about this provision of the Constitution and Court system.

Red Phillips | 12.22.11 @ 1:14PM

Now the neocons are calling for war with Syria. This would be comical if people's lives weren't at stake. First Syria. Then Iran. Or heck, why not Syria and Iran at the same time? Will this foolishness ever end? This is precisely why we need Ron Paul and his foreign policy.

http://www.weeklystandard.com/.....tml?page=1

rick| 1.4.12 @ 12:16PM

Ron Paul's repeated mis-characterization of America's foreign policy adventures is very curious to me. Why his oft-repeated references to "occupying countries" . To which countries does he refer? Can a Paul suporter name any of these countries? By "occupy" i know that Mr. Paul means forcible entry and but where has this happened beyond necessity. I'd like Romney or Santorum to publicly ask this and i mean PUBLICLY---to heck with asking Paul himself in a debate, he'll just try to work around it. In short, get it in front of the electorate. Personally, i find Mr. Paul's description of his own country's foreign policy (and i don't meant honest disagreement) and behavior of the troops deplorable and deeply disturbing.
