Today is Jacques Barzun’s 104th birthday. We all want to celebrate a great mind and a noble soul on this day. Well I recall going to lunches with him in New York. He was a great gentleman and an influence on this magazine. I have missed him of late but I am glad to have known him. He has kept the House of Intellect spruced up. Happy birthday, Jacques!
