There is much outrage in Pakistan over a NATO air strike yesterday which took the lives of 24 Pakistani soldiers. Pakistan claims the attacks were unprovoked and has closed off its western border to trucks delivering food and fuel supplies to U.S. and Coalition troops in Afghanistan. It is also demanding the U.S. leave an air base in Pakistan where drones are serviced within two weeks.

But when it comes to Pakistan things are never simple and straightforward. For its part, Afghanistan claims that Pakistan was firing upon Afghan and NATO forces near the Afghan-Pakistan border. Now there is no love lost between Afghanistan and Pakistan but the NATO countries in question can certainly confirm or deny what Afghanistan is asserting.

Both the U.S. & NATO will conduct separate investigations of the incident. But given Pakistan’s history of being less than forthcoming with us where it concerned Osama bin Laden and other matters I don’t think Hillary Clinton or NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen should be apologizing to Pakistan for anything unless their investigations can substantiate Pakistan’s claims.

It is time to bring the troops home before we are in a worrld war with Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, China , Russia and Egypt. That is on top of the wars we are involved in in Iraq, Afganistan, Yeman, Libya, Syria, Bahrain, Somalia, Uganda, etc. etc. The world will just have to defend itself we are broke.

Well, that's the Ron Paul position heard from-in the real world, we have to deal with the other nations on the globe, for good or ill. We can bring all the troops home-the bad guys are still out there, just like they were in the 20's and 30's, when the world was a far bigger place. Will Goldstein's ethnic loyalties be put up for debate next?

Dr. Ron Paul,
“Our military’s purpose is to defend our country, not to police the
Middle East.

“As the President prepares to send even more support to Egypt, we should
be reminded that it was our foreign aid that helped Mubarak retain power
to repress his people in the first place. Now we have to deal with the
consequences of those decisions, yet we keep repeating the same mistakes.

“I am not the only one who can see the absurdities of our foreign
policy. We give $3 billion to Israel and $12 billion to her enemies.
Most Americans know that makes no sense.

“We need to come to our senses, trade with our friends in the Middle
East (both Arab and Israeli), clean up our own economic mess so we set a
good example, and allow them to work out their own conflicts.”

The line about drones being serviced with in two weeks sounds like my mechanic.

So you know your being hit accidentally by 'Friendlies' but your mad and decide to try and shoot them down on PURPOSE? How about throwing up some colored smoke and waving your arms? I am pretty sure when Americans or British are accidentally hit, they don't try to kill their 'Friends'.
