The Wall Street Journal has
penned a nice thank you to long-time pro-growth, low tax
advocate Grover Norquist. Saying, in part, this:
Not to enhance this Beltway fable, but thank you, Mr. Norquist.
By reminding Republicans of their antitax promises, he has helped
to expose the real reason for the super committee’s failure: the
two parties disagree profoundly on a vision of government.
Well done. I first became acquainted with Grover, like so many
others, in various Reagan battles.
Since that time Grover has made a point of carrying the
Reagan low-tax, pro-growth agenda in the Washington trenches every
single day. If you think Zuccotti Park is ugly, you have no idea
what he has to endure day in and day out. Now he catches heat from
the usual quarters furious that his message has carried the day in
various Senate and House corners. To which I can only say, without
Grover Norquist, his laser-like focus, and complete willingness to
walk into the heat of the kitchen — this battle against the
socialization of America would be incredibly more
difficult.
So here’s to Grover.
And a real reason to offer thanks at Thanksgiving for
someone’s hard work that is paying off in multiples of
ways.

Grover is a Trojan Horse progressive or Liberal-tarian. WND's take on these inflitrators is much more insightful than Lord's...

Right on 9thID, Grover Norquist is just a vehicle for the Islamists to muscle in on the Republican
Party. Kinda like making nice with a cobra.

Rupert Murdoch sure has damaged the credibility of the WSJ, hasn't he?
So what good is Norquist's anti-tax jihad if it destroys the purchasing power of the American consumer?
The GOP/Tea Party is really going out of it's way to discredit themselves. I wouldn't entrust any of these swindlers to operate my business. And if I wouldn't hire them, I'm certainly not going to vote for them.
tonypal| 11.22.11 @ 4:14PM
Based on your comments Willie, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't hire you to run my business. You sound about as qualified to run something as Obama, a man who is still the least qualified person whenever he walks into a room.
Please explain exactly how being against tax hikes "destroys the purchasing power of the American consumer?" In other words, by reducing the size and scope of government and putting more money into consumers hands, we lessen the strength of the dollar? Do I have that straight?
It seems to me that we reduce or destroy consumer purchasing power when we run up $15 trillion in debt, then then print money to pay it down. It's called monetizing. I know this is all confusing to you Willie, perhaps because I haven't blamed George Bush yet.

Tonypal: I am curious upon what empirical basis you can claim that giving more money to the wealthy -- which is exactly what every cut in taxes does -- will reinvigorate the economy. The economy is driven by demand; when consumers are able to spend more the economy picks up. Pretty simple economics.
After 30 years of using the US as a test tube to test the theory, however, Laffer's trickle down view of the world has been proven spectacularly misguided.
When a government spends money, it ends up immediately in the economy ('cause, well, where else can it go?). We can quibble regarding where the money is spent, but there is no doubt that government spending put money in the pockets of consumers. Which they, in turn, can spend on goods and services that they need.
When the middle and lower classes get more money, it ends up immediately in the economy ('cause they spend it on goods and services they need).
When the wealthy get more money, it gets put in banks and "invested." Why? Because they don't need to spend it.
So lowering taxes on the middle and lower classes may result in growth, but lowering taxes on the already wealthy will not. Which may be why so many of the wealthy in this country recognize that their taxes need to go up.

Alas, if we are to have rule of law, then if you lower taxes on the middle class, then taxes will be lowered on the so-called rich as well. Either we are all equal before the law, or none of us are.
Of course, if you want to run off the people that have been able to make money, and who also create the wealth that leads to jobs and prosperity, then following the Demonrat way is a very good way to accomplish that task.
If the rich man is not safe from the predators in government, then, in the end, neither are you. At the moment the rich man is just a chimera being used by the Obummer to go after you and me.
gustavo| 11.22.11 @ 4:37PM
I will feel much more comfortable with Grover when he repudiates his Muslim connections.
Cromulent| 11.22.11 @ 4:59PM
Let's just ignore Grover's water carrying for Islam.
SCOTTY| 11.22.11 @ 7:00PM
Screw the poor, screw the less fortunate...let them "eat cake"! mentality! Dumb and dumber...sign a pledge to not raise taxes...dumb! And signing that pledge...dumber! A congressional committee should address Grover..."have you "NO SHAME"...but he loves the adulation from those that approve of the "uppity" remarks by the shock jock!
Quartermaster| 11.22.11 @ 7:14PM
You should calm yourself before you have a stroke. No here meets your description. There are plenty of people in the Obummer admin that hate the poor, however, and they sure love the Wall Street crowd.
Just ask Corzine for some money for the poor. I think you will find the only charity he cares for, like most Dems, is himself.
Quartermaster| 11.22.11 @ 7:15PM
Norquist is hiding behind what few good deeds he has. The man is an Islamoshill and not to be trusted.
Rivenburg| 12.2.11 @ 10:53AM
IT would seem Frank Gaffneys story stuck on Grover. Is there yet more data on Grovers MUZI friends? I tend to trust Gaffney, it's too bad if true about Grover.
Wade Temple| 12.22.11 @ 11:37AM
Norquist Any thinking American wants to see the U.S. Government bring costs into align with income. Turn on your brain and shut your mouth. Reality is a combination of income increase and reduction of costs to get us on our way to Government solvancy. Nobody really listens to one who rattles on with nonsense chatter as aposed to well thought out answers to very serious problems. The American people really think and can filter out the bull out of substance.
