Four-Way Race in Iowa

A new Bloomberg poll of likely Iowa Republican caucus voters has Cain, Paul, Romney, and Gingrich each only separate by one percentage point.

Cain, despite his recent struggles, is the leader at 20 percent. Perhaps most interesting, however, is that Ron Paul is now up to second place, narrowly beating out both Romney and the "surging" Gingrich. It's usually easy to ignore Paul's numbers. At 19 percent support, however, he's drawing a significant amount of voters beyond his usual committed base.

I said that Ron Paul needed to be at 18% in Iowa by the end of November. This is great news as Ron Paul also has the best organization in Iowa.

I just want to say that if you get your impression of Ron Paul from either the attacks on some of his more extreme positions OR from the alleged supporters who copy and paste the same things a million times, you're getting a very distorted idea of what a Ron Paul presidency would look like.

I urge people to look at what Ron Paul actually says, and think about how that would play out with Ron Paul as President and the Congress looking much like it looks today. Paul wouldn't get to implement every idea he's ever had. What he'd do is push Congress in the direction of smaller government and lower taxation and less regulation, etc. If that's not the direction you want Congress to be pushed then look for another candidate. If it is, give Paul a serious look.

I for one welcome our Paulbot overlords.

Someone needs to ask Paul about the proper response to an attack on pearl Harbor.

R2P2| 11.15.11 @ 11:38AM

What kind of response from Paul would you be expecting? We were attacked by the Japanese, and we declared war in a constitutional manner.

In your hypothetical, was Saddam behind the attack on Pearl Harbor?

Remember Mike Huckabee, the winner of the Iowa Primary, yet he conceded to John McCain. Iowans never got it right, they always choose the wrong candidate and make the Iowa Caucus a joke. Gov. Rick Perry will win the GOP nomination and defeat Obama in a landslide.

We will pray for Gov. Rick Perry, the last man standing, against Obama and the liberal machine. Please help elect Rick Perry. The march has begun now. We march for freedom, prosperity, and the Constitution. La Viva the free-enterprise.

My question is why a state, in this case Iowa, that will not deliver electoral votes for the GOP candidate is being given such a huge role in selecting that candidate? Isn't that a little self defeating? Why should CA or NY or NJ or IL or MA have a say in who the GOP nominee is to be when their electoral votes will go to Obama by default?
