Maybe in some much needed "escapism" for all and sundry, a nice story about a Veterans' Day premier tomorrow: A big college hoops match on the USS Carl Vinson in San Diego.

Here is a link to the short story on this in today's Chicago Tribune. ESPN will broadcast.

The president will be one of the 7,000 watching live. One can always hope that these interactions with the youthful exuberance of young lives in the military might -- somehow? -- wisen the man up some.

I'll admit. I became a little less interested in this event once I learned that he would be there. It shames me to know him as our Commander in Chief. Nonethess, some real kudos is due to those who promoted this idea and have brought it to fruition. It is a quite sweet marketing bonanza.

Please, if you would, plug for tomorrow -- Veterans' Day. Thank you. (The Chinese and Russians still cannot do this; we retain a modicum of superiority in something)
