Vice President Joe Biden at a Philadelphia event yesterday, responded to Republicans’ criticisms that the president’s job bill would only be a ‘temporary’ response to the recession. Via Hot Air:
“I wish these guys who thought it was temporary, I wish they had some notion of what it was like to be on the other side of a gun, or [to have] a 200-pound man standing over you, telling you to submit,” Biden told a crowd at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia on Tuesday, adding, “Folks, it matter, it matters.”

“The other thing I’ve hear from my friends who oppose this - this whole jobs bill - [is] that this is just temporary,” Biden said.
“Well let me tell you, it’s not temporary when that 911 call comes in and a woman’s being raped, if a cop shows up in time to prevent the rape. It’s not temporary to that woman,” said Biden. “It’s not temporary to the guy whose store is being held up and there’s a gun pointed at his head, if a cop shows up and he’s not killed. That’s not temporary to that store owner. Give me a break! Temporary. “
Two responses. First, this is supposed to be a “jobs bill.” What do robbery and rape have to do with jobs?
Second, if municipalities can’t afford to pay cops, local officials are at fault. Congressional Republicans, who represent taxpayers from all over the country, bear none of the blame. It’s that simple.

Biden is telling the truth. The brown shirts are already in the streets (see NY City) practising for next summer when they disrupt the conventions and perhaps the elections themselves. OWS is a dress rehersal for urban violence and Biden is sending us a not too veiled threat.

Yeah, anyone else wondering where Bidens mind is. He seems to be fixated on rape and crime, why is that? This is the second time in less than a week he used that type of reference.

Am I crazy or has this Administration just admitted that their law enforcement efforts are so bad that "murder rates are up, robberies are up, rapes are up" ?
Let me be the first to call for the resignations of Eric Holder and Robert Mueller. When any administration is this brazen about their inability to do anything, they deserve to be taken down.

Joe's son Beau is the Attorney General (AG) of delaware. When he first ran for the office in 2006, he campaigned on the proposition that the AG is responsible for increases in violent crime (his opponent had worked his way up to the #2 slot in the AG's office, though the one holding office at the time of the campaign and an increase in the homicide rate was a democrat who worked on Sen. Biden's 1990 re-election bid and has since been appointed as Corrections Commissioner in the democrat Markell administration). Since being elected, Beau has presided over record homicide years in Wilmington in 2008 and again in 2010. Perhaps what VPOTUS meant to do was give his son someone else to blame for the increase in crime under his watch, i.e. Congressional Republicans for not passing the jobs bill (hey, I just saw Allen West, Marco Rubio and Michelle Bachman light up a corner with a TEC9 and a fillibuster).
