Cardinals Win NLCS

The St. Louis Cardinals have won the 2011 NLCS with a 12-6 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 6.

It is the Cardinals' 18th NL pennant, the most in NL history. The Cardinals will attempt to win their 11th World Series title against the Texas Rangers. The Redbirds won their last World Series title in 2006.

Cardinals third baseman and St. Louis native David Freese was named NLCS MVP. Freese went 12-for-23 with 3 homeruns and 9 RBIs in the NLCS.

I would be disinclined to bet against the Cardinals. First, they came back from a ten and a half game deficit in the NL Wild Card in late August and overcame the Atlanta Braves on the last day of the regular season. Then they upended the heavily favored Philadelphia Phillies in the NLDS and have now overcome the powerhouse Brewers in the NLCS.

Interestingly, the Cardinals starting pitching was ineffective. Chris Carpenter was the only starter to pitch five innings during the NLCS. One could make the case the St. Louis bullpen should have shared the NLCS MVP with Freese.

The Cardinals now look forward to a happy flight back to St. Louis where the World Series will begin on Wednesday night.

Go Cards! Looking forward to the World Series.

Obviously, the Cards played by the rules and did nothing wrong.

I STILL hate the wild card system, and always have. Not just this year, but every year, and not just in baseball, but in EVERY spoty.

If you're not even the best team in your own division, you're NOT the best team in your sport, and shouldn't get a chance to play for the championship.

Baseball is completely unlike football in that there's no such thing as an upset. Bad baseball teams not only CAN take a short series from a good team, they DO it all the time. Too many wild card teams have ALREADY won the World Series, and that strikes me as preposterous.

Rangers in 6. Bank on it.

This should be a great series. The only if you can bank on is this:

If the Ranger's starting pitching staff can keep the team close through the sixth innings, they can steal a game or two in St. Lois and win the series.

St. Louis, not Lois.

St. Lois was my aunt.

The Rangers lineup can make a pitcher feel like your aunt Lois.

slewing ring can also bear the larger axial load, radial load and overturning, can replace several sets of ordinary bearing combination to use function. http://www.1stbearing.com
