Today marks President Obama’s one thousandth day in office.
On January 21, 2009, the night following his inauguration, I
read a poem at The Cantab in Cambridge, Massachusetts titled
“October 16, 2011 (A Thousand Days of Obama).” I have since been
banned from reading at The Cantab. Now that we have reached that
one thousandth day, I thought I would share it with you:
He wants you to know there’s nothing to fear
Things are going to be done in a new way
The new boss will bring about hope and change
It’s coming soon; it just won’t be coming today
High hopes are cautioned that change
Won’t arrive on our shores overnight
A thousand nights have passed
Will it ever be in harbor’s sight?
In the meantime our allies and friends
Have raised their hands without lifting a finger
All of these weekly online fireside chats
Our state of economic stagnation lingers
You can see houses full of broken windows
Uncollected garbage lines the streets
Amongst the refuse is an old pamphlet
Lying useless like subsidized wheat
The back of his open hand
Slowly clenches into a fist
If you want his compassion
Then sign up for the waiting list
With his patriotism a mile wide but an inch deep
The Commander-in-Chief salutes at arm’s length
It’s plain that history has taught him nothing
About achieving peace through strength
Where will our nation be
Thirty days after thirty-nine
A land where you can’t tell
What’s yours and what’s mine
This was supposed to be our moment
It has not come and we don’t know when
Once more he will be full of promises
Perhaps it will be time for change again

Well, let's see.
Will we have another thousand days of the Destroyer-in-Chief?
The Republican Establishments wants Romney.
The Paul-bots want Ron Paul.
The purists won't vote at all, or will write in their fave on the ballot.
It seems to me that even the so-called conservatives are about to re-elect him.

A thousand days of Obama is like ten thousand days of Hitler.
Ooops!

Channeling my inner Johnathan Swift, here is my modest proposal: to those supporting Romney because they are desperate for ANYONE who can beat Obama, I suggest they get behind a Draft Hillary movement for the Republican nomination. She would easily beat Obama, and best of all, she's not a RINO! We would know in advance she is a committed socialist, unlike Romney who is merely an unprincipled opportunist. Hillary, Romney, who cares? At least we will have someone who can beat Obama, and isn't that the ONLY thing conservatives want?

"Apocalyptic Crank Lady"
You Bloviated
On The Serial Traitor To Conservatism
Until He Got His Ass Kicked,
Israel Firster
Apocalyptic Crank Lady
You'd Vote For A Refrigerator,
If It Would Go To War For Your Israel Agenda,
Apocalyptic Crank Lady
God Knows You're A Liar
He Has Your Number
World Class Hypocrite
Anti-Catholic Bigot Pig
Apocalyptic Crank Lady

Bad idea to release those terrorists for Shalit, as they may vote for Paul, given porousness of our borders.

Margie didn't mention Israel, Clint: you did.

Clint is scum incarnate.
OOOH, I said a bad word!

I've had all the Hope And Change I can stand (or afford). 1,000 days of hell are now past, only 13 more months to go.
I am now Hoping only for a Change in the person who occupies the presidency. And working for the election of more members of Congress who are conservatives.
Margie| 10.17.11 @ 1:07AM
Thank you, Pete. Me too.

Well, you would think things aint so bad if you listened to the likes of Ted Baxter O'Reilly.
Hey, we are supposedly doing great on the war on terror because we took out a couple of high leading terrorist.
Forget , that we are losing Afghanistan, Pakistan is out of our control, the world laughs at us, we have a had several close calls here domestically, a few nuts have gone off at army bases, our borders are still not secure, and the idiot is pulling out of Iraq and announcing when to the enemy. But don't question Ted O'Reilly about it or you will be called a crazed ideologue..like he is not and does not have his own world view and set of beliefs.
Ted thinks he is still reelectable despite he is knee deep in 4 major scandals and is under congressional investigations that include his department of justice.
Forget he has no economic plan, all his spending has done nothing to fix the economy, his stimulus a failure, and his job approval numbers keep falling. Ted says he is still re-electable and a swell guy to invite to your party this Friday.
Ted reports that he is manipulatiing the 'folks' and misleading them. Ted still thinks he is re-electable.
Ted describes his election campaign rhetoric and says it can not be backed up. Ted thinks he is re-electable.
Ted complains that his oponent, Mr. Cain is not electable because like Obama he has no foreign policy experience. Ted thinks Obama is reelectable. Ted did not think this was a problem in 2007.
I think we need to stop listening to Ted cause Ted aint really looking out for the folks.

I forgot to mention his Egyptian debacle. Oh, how is is going in Lybia? I also loved that Iranian encounter as well when they cried out for help.

What was the last nation's leader he bowed to and groveled under?

Now, we're in Uganda? Why?
I wish to point out that my general policy is to work for the destruction of enemies that threaten America, such as the Iranians (when they are paying Mexican Drug Cartels to assassinate Ambassadors in Washington, DC, that's a problem), by methods that maximize their bloodshed and minimize ours. Carpet bombing of Teheran, for example, comes to mind. I don't want to defeat America's enemies; I want them blotted out. If they survive afterward to rehabilitate, that's nice but not necessary.
This guy in Uganda has nothing to do with us. It makes no sense.

Personally I am in favor of nuclear response to terrorist attacks. Attack us, lose your country (just use the inherant EMP capability of a nuke if nothing else)
