thanks Quin ! Somebody FINALLY brought this to the forefront. I sit here day after day, seeing outstanding grit for the grist mill, but the Party Of Stupid, refuses to start milling. They seem more fixated on destroying each other instead. The DoJ is perhaps the best/worst example of the thoroughly corrupted administration. I read of whatever their latest scandal is and the response to it. Holder indeed runs the place like a Chicago mobster. In a just world, he would have been terminated last year. Dropping the Black Panther voter intimidation case was unconscionable. It would have been a slam dunk case, as prima facie evidence with the video was available.
Frustrated in Texas....

You got to know when to Holder,
know when to fold 'er.
Know when to walk a gun,
Know when to run.
You never dismiss charges
when your sittin' at the table
There'll be time enough for pardons,
when the dealing's done.

That tells two things: [1] Santorium has the guts to say what he did and [2] Romney did not. End of story!!!!!!
Bob K.| 10.14.11 @ 10:52PM
Amen to that!
J.C.Eaton| 10.15.11 @ 12:03AM
Yes, but it would have been just as satisfying and a helluva lot braver if Santorum had backed then-congressman Toomey in his race against the human carbuncle, Arlen Spector, those many years ago. Just sayin'.
Audace | 10.15.11 @ 2:10AM
JC, you've posted that comment here before when a positive mention of Rick Santorum comes up. Got it. We've read it.
Is that the only error he's made? And the other 7 finalists are without blemish?
It is important to note that Rick Santorum is again taking on a topic that is presidential. A topic that is of national executive LEADERSHIP significance.
In our unofficial/official hierarchy the head of the Dept of Justice is right there behind Defense and State, no?
What the DoJ does and how its staff comports themselves is of great significance.
Presently the Dept. of Justice is a cesspool. There we have top, very well paid, lawyers run amok. Where is the national outcry following heavy media coverage on the DoJ Human/Equal Rights Divison lawyer who is now in the process of retiring? He -- yes, a he -- bilked the US taxpayers out of 10's of thousands of $ just last year on junkets to Miami, Florida to see his -- yes, you guessed it -- girlfriend. Imagine that! All of this travel and dining on his government credit card. There are easily 15-18 very dubious trips/expenditures where this individual cheated and fleeced.
And the man is retiring without blemish, without sanction, without punishment for STEALING time and money from YOU. He's retiring on full retirement benefits.
So where's this expose on the goings on at the D of J?
Recently Rick Santorum also tackled the issue of Egyptians again marauding against citizen Christian Egyptians as that key chapter of the Arab Spring further proves unworthy of any praise.
Those comments on Egypt and Middle East happenings were/are presidential - leadership.
Mr. Santorum and his candidacy deserve more attention and credit.
mcr| 10.15.11 @ 7:11PM
Yes I agree that Mr. Santorum deserves more attention and credit. He certainly does.
J.C.Eaton| 10.15.11 @ 11:10PM
Aud, did I post that criticism before. If I did, good. To me it bears repeating. Heres why: Santorum was,at the the time of his perfidy, by my lights a very bright shining star of the Right. I admired him deeply. But his cynical backing of a genuine turd was irresponsible, worse, it was disloyal and chicken. Those are characteristics that stick with me for a long, long time. In all events, you're welcome to pitch for him and his candidacy if you see fit.and best to you; but the star lost its' glimmer and it won't be coming back. BTW, I quite agree with your assessment of what passes for our current Justice Dept. but so does everyone else who got through the sixth grade on his own hook.

Are you from Pennsylvania? If so, who did you vote for in the election for the Senate after this Primary which you have so much trouble with? I'm from PA and I held my nose and voted for the Republican, who in this case was Specter.
What are you going to do if Santorum is the Republican nominee for president? Stay home and pout or hold your nose and vote for him?
J.C.Eaton| 10.16.11 @ 2:50PM
Bob, nah, I'm not from your fine state. What I am though is a guy from another state that sent money and offers of help to Pat Toomey while Santorum and Bush sat on their elite and cynical asses and backed your candidate. I don't need nor will I accept cheap after the fact pontificating from you or the other guy on the subjects of loyalty and priciple. I won't lose a nanosecond over the conundrum of a Santorum presidential candidacy and mores the pity, the guy had stones once.

The NRA has just stated that Fast and Furious is a governmental plot to destroy first amendment rights, and same is logical/reasonable and no doubt truthful. This Justice Dept [and especially its director] has to go, period!!!!!!!
