" Released on Tuesday, September 27, the latest Harris Poll surveyed 2,462 adults and was conducted between September 12 and 19. According to the poll, if Texas Congressman Ron Paul wins the Republican presidential nomination he would beat Obama by 51 percent to 49 percent in the general election."

The Tea Party Rebellion Is Here.

LiveFreeOrDie| 10.7.11 @ 1:45PM

My dog beats Obama in the general election. Fill-in-the-blank beats Obama in the general election.

Clint| 10.7.11 @ 1:59PM

" Despite finishing strong in several national-level polls, Texas Governor Rick Perry would struggle against Obama in the general election. After a lackluster performance at the Fox News-Google debate and a second place finish in the Florida straw poll, the results of the Harris Poll were the third disappointment for Perry’s campaign in less than a week. According to the poll, if Perry wins the GOP nomination he would be beaten by the President. Obama would grab 51 percent and Perry would take 49 percent in the general election. Obama would also win with 54 percent or more of the vote against the rest of the GOP field."

LiveFreeOrDie| 10.7.11 @ 3:39PM

Got a link for that quote? It's not that I don't believe you I just want to check it out, thanks.

Bob| 10.7.11 @ 12:48PM

No it's not. 3M-Mormon Moron from Mass. is your nominee. It will be great to see when old pro-abortion/gay rights Mitt gets the nomination and see the Tea Bags disintegrate.

NotPropagandized| 10.7.11 @ 1:27PM

Why do you have to remind us over our short memories as to why we dismissed Newt at the outset? Perry fumbled and now Cain discloses his Romney sympathies. So we're looking now for a new non-Romney. Newt is leftover and has lulled us into forgetting his baggage, especially in our quiet desperation to find the Romney alternative. Jindal and Giuliani seem far-fetched and JebBush would be a dream come true. We should have gotten Jeb instead of W in 2000. He'd NEVER do it. So, can we risk Newt? Would he be as bad as McCain? A lot of highly intelligent people are barely sane and he's one of them. Too easy for him to get off the reservation into rabbit trails and wierd comments, etc.

Lord, we beg your mercy. Forgive us. Deliver us!

LiveFreeOrDie| 10.7.11 @ 1:46PM

The "establishment" R's just don't get it. No Newt!

martin j smith| 10.7.11 @ 1:57PM

Its up to each candidate to show what they are made of and demonstrate leadership NOW --showing that they can take on the Socialists DIRECTLY, And, one thing that they MUST DO is to say; IT IS YOU SOCIALISTS that are ginning up the mob and violence. We will call you out and hold you to account!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Those who try to reach across the aisle--should be rejected.

Oldefarte| 10.7.11 @ 2:11PM

Absolutely! I like all of the Republican candidates, and each have admirable qualities. I just reflect back to the current president and then contemplate how great it will be when one of these Republicans becomes our next occupant of 1600 [if we can last that long, which may be doubtful]. No one is perfect, but all are so in comparison to El Chosen One. November of 2012 simply cannot get here fast enough for some of us who are utterly miserable with the current state of affairs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oldefarte| 10.7.11 @ 2:18PM

PS: Some of the Wall St protesters are attempting to compare their activities to the tea partiers, which is ludicrous [since they each represent opposite ends of society]. The protesters are pure scum/trash and indigent governmental welfare recipients; whereas tea partiers are movers/shakers and producers of wealth in this country. The protesters are immoral filth-excrement, whereas the tea partiers are representatives of morality and goodness. For these protesters to make this comparison is criminal and insanity!!!!!!

Margie| 10.7.11 @ 5:53PM

Amen to both of your posts, Oldefarte.
Excellent olde points!
And why are they throwing Herman Cain out?
What's that saying about throwing the baby out with the bath water?
Sheesh.

William R| 10.7.11 @ 2:24PM

Hiller and Lord pimping for Rick Santorum. Disgusting. Santorum is dumber than Bush.

Casey Abell| 10.7.11 @ 2:30PM

Yeah, Santorum. Sure.

Quin off his meds is an awesome sight.

Quin| 10.7.11 @ 3:10PM

But why not Santorum? As far as I can tell, the single biggest argument against him is that he lost big in 2006, when at least he had the guts to run for re-election rather than abandoning the field like Romney did. But if past electoral success is the be-all and end-all, why does one loss, after four straight upset wins, disqualify Santorum (especially considering the circumstances of 2006 and the fact that he STILL ran ahead of the rest of the Pennsylvania GOP ticket), while Cain surges to the top of the polls despite having gotten beaten even worse in his one previous electoral effort -- a 52-26 shellacking in a multi-person party primary in Georgia?

Casey Abell| 10.7.11 @ 3:48PM

Quin, Santorum has been laboring forever and he's still down there with the rounding asterisk.

Where is this guy supposed to win? Show me some polling data that gives him the remotest chance in any of the early primary states (or any state anywhere) and I'll take another look at this fantasy.

Casey Abell| 10.7.11 @ 3:54PM

I just glanced at the RCP averages in IA, NH and SC. Santorum racks up 4.3%, 1.3% and 2.7% in the states.

Rock on.

NotPropagandized| 10.7.11 @ 5:33PM

"he's still down there with the rounding asterisk."

Now that's funny! Nice comic relief...

William R| 10.7.11 @ 7:35PM

Santorum voted for 95+ percent of the Bush agenda. Still thinks invading Iraq was a good idea. Wants to start a war with Iran.

Hillyer, you're not much of a conservative.

Oldefarte| 10.7.11 @ 3:08PM

[Speaking of Ron Raul]:

'......By James Plummer - The Daily Caller 12:42 AM 10/07/2011 NEW ORLEANS – The “Occupy Wall Street” movement came to the Big Easy on Thursday, but its expression of varied and often clashing political messages quickly turned difficult. As about 500 New Orleans protesters marched, complete with a small brass band, from Orleans Parish Prison to the Federal Reserve and then inside City Hall, one activist told The Daily Caller she heard shouts of “Kill the cops!” With tensions running high between police and protesters outside the prison, marcher Buick McKane said she had no interest in provoking law enforcement. She told TheDC she was there to advocate for “small, transparent government.”
McKane was not the only one to defy left-wing agitator stereotypes. With a “Tax the rich!” chant a block ahead, an anarchist named Mary cried “The state is violence! End the Fed!” ......
During an open-mic time in front of the Federal Reserve Bank, a bullhorn passed between speakers wearing Ron Paul stickers and others sporting shirts claiming that “Housing is a human right!” After several consecutive speakers plugged Rep. Paul, the Texas congressman, as “the only one” seeking to end the Federal Reserve system, several in the crowd became restless and started booing and chanting, “Ron Paul sucks!,” and “End Capitalism!” One marcher worried aloud that the Ron Paul contingent would not “fight for people’s needs, repeal free-market policies and end structural racism in America.” The crowd Thursday was predominantly white. Protester Matt Freimyth held a sign that said “Ron Paul is not the answer.” He told TheDC, “This is the wrong environment to be campaigning for any politician.” .......'

Mike Rogers| 10.7.11 @ 4:14PM

Looks like Giuliani is out there feeling his way around NH.
The Ruling Class is desperate!

Margie| 10.7.11 @ 6:00PM

Rick Santorum is fine with me. Herman Cain's even better, I don't care what they say or are trying to do to him.
Nobody's perfect.
Praying that God makes it clear to us.. who should it be.
We'll know soon enough.

"If My people who are called by My Name humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." 2 Chr. 7:14.

Simon Templar| 10.7.11 @ 7:12PM

Quin,

Politics: Stunning Poll: Cain Up 20% Over Romney, Beating Obama
Zogby has just released a poll that is sure to stun many: Herman Cain is not only the frontrunner for the GOP nomination, he’s leading Mitt Romney by 20 percentage points. But there’s more: he’s also beating President Obama 46%-44%.

Yeah, it sure is. If it continues in this direction, it will be over soon and the worst nightmare of establishment Republicans will come true - a real live conservative in the white house for the first time in American modern history.

Have no fear. I expect the progressive media and the establishment Republicans will take him down in a month or at least give their best shot (that is sarcasm, for those on the slow).

Clint| 10.7.11 @ 11:21PM

Cain is another Candidate Du Jour.

Margie| 10.8.11 @ 3:52AM

Clint, you're a member of the cult Du Jour. The cult of Ron Paul.

He can't ever win because he's a lunatic, and you know it.

Yes, the TEA party rebellion is here~ and it isn't about the cult of Ron Paul, it's about REAL conservatives who want to see lower taxes, free market enterprise, and a STRONG military defense.

That leaves Ron Paul out, as well as your ilk.

Get right with God.

Clint| 10.8.11 @ 7:59AM

Get Bent, Israel Firster RINO-CINO Apocalyptic Crank Lady Margie.

Oldefarte| 10.8.11 @ 10:56AM

I don't here you, moron [concerning the N.O news story and Paul]. Can you issue an intelligent comment other than 'get bent' or is that the extent of your stating 'STUPIDLY' ????????

Oldefarte| 10.8.11 @ 10:57AM

Correction: HEAR, not 'here' [your stupidity is obviously rubbing off on me]!!!!!

Oldefarte| 10.10.11 @ 4:15PM

Your ONE FINGER SALUTE represents either [1] your IQ or [2] the number of non-minority parents you have. As Forrest accurately claimed about sub-humans like yourself.....STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES/SAYS. It's amazing that you don't even realize the ludicrous nature of stating 'Take That Cigar Outta Your Mouth', while you're so far up your elderly idol's anal cavaty that he can comb your hair from his navel. Make sure to get YO MOMA to wash his excrement from behind your ear lobes after you're through kissin' it, okay??????

John| 10.8.11 @ 9:02AM

In my opinion Perry is the best candidate in the race. He has proven himself to be a fine governor for almost 11 years, and I think he would make a fine president. From where I stand, he seems like the clear first choice to be our nominee.

martin j smith| 10.8.11 @ 9:45AM

Lets see who the voters pick he ? I believe it will take a few months maybe more to sort things out.
My guess ( not my wish or preference ) is that Romney is the Establishment Hope. of the others ( No for Huntsman and Ron Paul ever ever ever ever ) That leaves Newt-somehow he is a dark horse( by no means all out ), Bachman ( needs to do more say more to get back in )Cain ( is on a roll ) and Perry who seems lost--but not yet out.

The candidate that wins as far as I am concerned is the one who best stands up to the Socialists.
And, who stands up for America.( i.e. American exceptionalism)

b bayliss| 10.9.11 @ 6:07PM

in response to oldefarte, You are correct sir! There is no comparison between the two groups. The tea baggers knew exactly what they wanted; NO NEW TAXES! They sure do want their medicare and social security though. These mobs of commy scum on wall street think there's something wrong with the top 1% owning 34.5% of the wealth of our country (up from 8% in 1970). You world must be a blissful one. Good day, sir.

Oldefarte| 10.11.11 @ 1:50PM

b bayliss: Re-read the news article I posted previously here, as the comparison is between the street thugs/protesters and the Ron Paul supporters [included within same at the New Orleans demonstration]. Your termned [falsely] 'tea baggers' have absolutely nothing in common with these street vermin, and in fact are the direct opposite of same. Tea partiers work for their financial living and are one of the most important reasons for this nation's existence [since they completely fund our government through their income and taxes paid]; they financially support these street excrements' existence whose welfare depends upon the government for payment of their welfare; they/street thugs are useless, worthless members of society; and they/street thugs never have worked a day in their miserable lives and never will do so because they are lazy bums that possess not sense of work ethic or willingness to contribute to society. The tea partiers alternatively deserve entirely every penny of SS/Medicare/personal income that they receive for the simple fact that they EARNED IT [they work, pay taxes, and are valued members of society all]. The SS/Medicare that they receive was paid for throughout their entire working/producing income lives by their monthly payments under FICA payroll taxes wich funded these programs [alternatively the indigents of society receive/depend upon MEDICAID which is entirely free to them, since they never paid for same and can collect Medicaid's benefits at any age]. Your analogy is false/incorrect and you're not deceiving anyone by same [so get your facts straight]!!!!!!!!!!!!

Simon Templar| 10.9.11 @ 7:21PM

For those truly interested in understanding what is going on on this so-called Open GOP Race as Quin puts it, then read the following article,

http://www.americanthinker.com....._wins.html

Perhaps it will sober you all up and make you a little more reserved in shooting your mouths off about other candidates and tearing up those running on our side.
