Joe Lawler asks if Steve Jobs was the greatest Arab American ever?

He then links to a Wikipedia page listing prominent Arab Americans. For his part, Lawler says the "pickings are slim" citing George Mitchell, John Sununu, Edward Said and Mitch Daniels from that list. I must admit I didn't know Daniels was of Arabic origin. Nor for that matter was I aware that football great Doug Flutie had a Lebanese father.

Lawler concludes by asking if there's anyone missing.

I would include retired U.S. General John Abizaid, Ralph Nader and the late Danny Thomas. Although Thomas is remembered as a great entertainer he also founded the world renowned St. Jude Children's Research Hospital nearly half a century ago which has helped countless children with pediactric cancers and other catastrophic diseases free of charge.

You can get an incomplete list from Wiki.

Most are from the Near Eastern Christian Diaspora.

No mention is made, of course, of Armenians who are not Arabs but are also from what we consider as the Near East.

Daniels---Syrian. Edward Said, Ralph Nader---worthless assholes.

Jobs was Arab born (dad), but given up for adoption. He was actually a Buddhist.

I don't see how they overlooked Danny Thomas. He even made jokes about his Arab background.

For instance: Danny and IIRC Bing Crosby are captured by wild Bedouin tribesmen. They are condemned to death because Danny's Uncle Jake disgraced the clan by committing "Ash Nalizar" (a nose job). But they are granted a "trial by dance competition" against two tribesmen. Danny and Bing do a little softshoe. The Arabs do a wild sword dance, and of course the tribal audience prefers them. Then it comes out that Uncle Jake had his nose made LARGER - so "Ash Nalizar" was not committed, and everyone is happy.

Roller bearing is composed of axial and radial two roller bearing assembly, bearings reduce
volume, simplifies the installation structure, thereby reducing the manufacturing cost. http://www.1stbearing.com
