From New York we have yet another demonstration of how the “why-don’t-we-give-them-what-they-want-so-they-will-shut-up?” strategy never works with cause groups. The dedicated casuist barely takes time to celebrate a victory before moving on to the next demand.
New Yorkers are hardly accustomed yet to gay marriage. Comes now a ruling class panel with the Orwellian name of the Health Disparities Work Group to advise Governor Andrew Cuomo that taxpayers should be obliged to pay for sex change operations under Medicaid. The recommendation is being considered by the Medicaid Redesign Team (Who makes up these names?) and will ultimately wind up on Cuomo’s desk.
As Dave Barry would say, I’m not making this up. By the way, Planet California already has this “benefit.” Setting a new NCAA record for understatement, New York Senate Health Committee Chairman Kemp Hannon (R-Nassau) said the recommendation “doesn’t seem to be appropriate.” Ya think? State Conservative Party chairman Mike Long came closer to the mark with, “This is an outrageous abuse of taxpayer dollars.”
We can pray that Cuomo goes against type and spikes this brave new absurdity. If he doesn’t, perhaps New York Republicans could agree to pay for these surgeries only if Andy goes first. Andrea is a nice name.

Being in the Army myself, now that the "Don't ask, because we never really wanted to know about your sex life anyway" policy has been rescinded, I just know that this is just around the corner for us too. There's a gay Soldier somewhere in the Army right now, who's stuck in a man's body, but he/she has always wanted to have Double-D's!! And the American Taxpayer "will" have to pay for this!! This is what this whole scam has been about anyway, about force feeding this so-called lifestyle on the rest of us, like it or not!! Forcing us to accept it, like it's "normal", and forcing us to pay for it too!!
About future sex changes in the Military? This won't effect Military readiness in anyway, whatsoever, especially when your Commander comes back from a short leave, and his name's changed from Sir to Ma'am. This won't freak the Company out too much!! Nothing to see here, except for that remaining adam's apple, that's still kind of there bobbing up and down. Ugh!! They'll never stop with this crap, and unless we're willing to accept it (and I hope we're not), we're going to have to be the ones to stop them.
Governor Cuomo would be wise to put an end to this stupid idea, before it's too late. New Yorkers are already fleeing his State in droves, because of high taxes, Government regulations, and decreasing freedoms, so he doesn't need to hand the remaining Folks another excuse to call U-Haul, and start packing their boxes too.
