Censoring Playboy

Wherein I make the case for stopping a TV show from airing...or something.

The problem is that the public airwaves are filled with filth. Utter, complete filth, at all hours of the day. Raunchy humor. Constant references to and depictions of sex. Foul language. Graphic violence -- not of the sheriff-shoots-outlaw, outlaw-falls-from-horse variety, which is perfectly fine, but instead of the sort that involves explicit gore, blood and guts sprayed all over the screen. The public has the right to insist that those few pieces of the broadcast spectrum owned in common are reserved for content appropriate for all ages, or at the very least that objectionable content be strictly -- and I do mean strictly -- limited to late-night hours. ...
Again, the key here is that there are plenty of other outlets for racier fare; but the public, through Congress, has every right to insist on standards of decency for the publicly owned airwaves.

The new show about the Playboy Club should never be on prime time TV. Period.

We have remote controls, you know?

And so do children. And children have TVs in their bedrooms. And if the parents are too "strict" the kids can visit a friend's house.

I just refuse to watch it and may think twice about buying a product from a sponsor.

My wife and I put strict controls on what our kids watched on TV and when. We modelled other behavior, like reading, hobbies and actually spending time with them after supper. They grew up knowing that there other things to do than stare mindlessly at the tube all evening. And my wife and I had a lot of fun with them - much more than watching Seinfield.

Parents who don't do that, who let the kids run wild with the boob tube are simply lazy and have no idea what kind of life they are missing.

TeeVee ain't like it used to be.
We've gone from Father Knows Best and June Cleaver to Hugh Hefner Knows Them All and June's Whore House on Reality t.v.

Dump the television! You can watch c-span online. LOL.
Just kidding. I don't ever watch it, but it is a good place to see our elected officials behavior, and what they really believe.
Besides, you can get the good old t.v. shows online too. And NetFlix (or Blockbuster) is awesome for old movies.

Don't worry, that show won't last long. The actors are just openly trying to copy Jon Hamm doing Don Draper. PanAm is going to have big problems if they insist on no smoking.

I just watch Riff-Trax.

There are many types of bearings, each used for different purposes. These include slewing bearings, precision bearings, track roller bearings and roller, thrust bearings. http://www.1stbearing.com
