The Spectacle Blog

Supporters of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell (myself included) objected to its repeal in large part because we want to protect the U.S. military’s unique warrior culture. But “don’t worry!” we were told. “Gay men and women don’t want to change the military culture; they just want to serve!”

That is certainly true of some gay men and women, but not necessarily those who have most agitated for openly gay military service. Darrell Choat, for instance, has an op-ed in today’s Washington Post in which he basically rails against the culture of the Marine Corps and demands that the Marines become positively gay-friendly.

Choat complains that “remarks by senior Marine leaders made clear that their conception of ‘Marine’ did not include those who were gay.” Consequently, he whines, “gay soldiers and Marines serving in Iraq and Afghanistan were disrespected by military and civilian leaders…

My challenge is not to simply acknowledge my sexuality as a Marine officer, but for my actions to reflect the legacy of the Declaration of Independence — that all Americans are created equal and deserve equal consideration from their government. My task is to demand no less from my country and Corps…

It is time for the Marine Corps to end the bigotry and prejudice regarding sexual orientation and to give Marines, combat veterans and Purple Heart recipients the respect and consideration they have earned.

In other words, Choat doesn’t want simply to allow gay men and women to serve; he wants the Marine Corps to affirm homosexuality as a positive good. He wants to ensure that homosexuality is not disparaged and shunned, but instead acknowledged, praised, and sanctioned. His “task,” after all, “is to demand no less from [his] country and Corps.”

This is a dangerous line of thinking that is essentially coercive and totalitarian in nature. It is one thing to ask that the military accept and tolerate gay men and women. However, it is another thing entirely to demand that traditionalists and religious believers — of whom there are many in the Marine Corps — recognize and champion homosexuality.

And although Choat doesn’t say so explicitly, the logical and inevitable next step is to demand gay sensitivity training and reeducation of military service members. You may think that this will never happen, only it already has: in the civilian workplace.

“Four respected San Diego firefighters were ordered, against their wishes, to participate in uniform on their city fire truck in the city’s annual [2007] ‘Gay Pride’ parade,” reports LifeSiteNews.

During the course of the ensuing three hour-long ordeal, the firefighters were subjected to obscene sexual taunts from homosexuals lining the parade route.

This included the following statements:  “show me your hose,” “you can put out my fire,” “you’re making me hot,” “give me mouth-to-mouth,” “you look hungry, why don’t you have a twinkie (from a man wearing a “Girth and Mirth” t-shirt),” and “blow my hose.”

These firemen are devoted husbands and fathers. When they refused to respond to the crowd, some in the crowd turned hostile and started shouting, “F-k you firemen” and others began “flipping them off.”

With the help of the Thomas More Law Center, the firefighters sued the city of San Diego and a jury ruled in their favor.

Admittedly, theirs was an extreme case involving a gross abuse of authority. Still, the totalitarian demand for politically correct thinking that animated the city’s illicit and coercive action against the firefighters also infuses Choat’s rant against the Marine Corps.

Indeed, in Choat’s view, the Marines’ refusal to celebrate homosexuality amounts to nothing more than “bigotry and prejudice.” It never seems to occur to Choat that, in fact, the Corps’s martial culture is based on a shared sense of manhood and masculinity, and that, therefore, the Marines have good reason not to positively affirm and promote homosexuality.

If you want to be gay and serve, then serve and shut the hell up.

Vlady| 9.21.11 @ 11:16AM

It was always about getting a little, and then going for more. This is just the beginning of the battles that will now rage in the military. People have already quietly (for the most part) taken sides. This is going to be a huge blow to discipline.

Darin| 9.21.11 @ 11:50AM

Gay marriage in the military will be next. It will include the push for gay couples to move into base housing. Base housing used to be a good place to raise kids. Soon it will become a haven for pedophiles (gays have a proven record of such tendancies). This is going to get real ugly real fast.

Triple S| 9.22.11 @ 12:18PM

Are you seriously another one of these stupid people who think gays are inherently GOING to commit paedophilia? I don't know where you get this 'tendency' shit from. But I can tell you that there is as much if not more bullshit that comes from straights and not gays. Gays are just as capable with parenting children (you see, they have "a proven tendency" to do so). So get over yourself and this self-perpetuating lie that gays are inherently more evil than straights.

Ed D| 9.21.11 @ 6:25PM

That is why DADT worked.

True Tourtillott | 9.20.11 @ 4:43PM

I respect your POV but disagree. See my blog post for the reasons why. http://thedamntrueexperiment.b.....-dont.html

BTW, your piece made no mention of your service in the US Military if any. I'd ask, that you include that going forward when if you opine on such topics again. It is germane.

9thID| 9.20.11 @ 4:50PM

DADT was Clinton's Trojan Horse from the beginning. It was never designed to allow gays to serve secretly, or to have them "lie" about their sexuality. As an example, ObamaCare was designed to kill off private insurance so that employers would throw their employees into the government-run exchanges. This would eventually result in the failed single-payer system we see in Canada and the U.K. So too was DADT conceived in order to self destruct and allow gays to flaunt their deviant behavior openly. Conspiracy theories aside, gays are willing dupes of the Left, who really want to further erode our military might and the Judeo-Christian values that are the foundation of our Constitution. They know this is the only way to "fundamentally transform America"...

Triple S| 9.22.11 @ 12:24PM

And where is this "deviant" behaviour? Where is the PROOF that gays are trying to 'erode, destroy, annihilate, ruin, obliterate and otherwise completely get rid of our military? All you homophobes keep saying the same shit OVER AND OVER again! But you never submit any IRREFUTABLE evidence to support your arguments! All you say is some vague religious crap or say that our military is supposed to be 'manly and masculine' whatever the fuck that means. Gays are not all queens! Some, like me, are pretty much completely straight looking and behaving! Get it through your heads that you are wrong!

Kenny| 9.20.11 @ 4:57PM

What's this country coming to? Homosexuals do not belong in the U.S. military, especially thosehat are 'out of the closet.'

Kevin M| 9.23.11 @ 2:45AM

And this is because..... why? Because you say so? Because it just is? If the walls of the Pentagon were built of material as flimsy as this logic, it would be a wonder if the building hadn't fallen in on itself.

Pink Beret| 9.20.11 @ 5:31PM

I think the USMC should allow the LGBT community to prove themselves by setting up an elite squad of LGBT commandos - the Pink Berets!

This crack squad will be trained in hand-to-hand combat techniques, such as scratching the enemies eyes out. They will be useful tools in our nation building efforts, enabling the Marines to give Afghanistan an Extreme Makeover!

Nam Marine| 9.21.11 @ 12:15AM

Ever been to Parris Island honey?

CalMark| 9.20.11 @ 5:36PM

Decent Americans have had enough politically correct authoritarianism--that emphatically includes gay activism.

Like all radicals, gay militants care nothing for others' sensibilities, which will be their downfall. Repeal of DADT may very well prove a Pyrrhic victory for the "gay community." Crowing and buoyed to indecent excess, they will overstep the mark so badly that the counter-reaction will destroy them.

P.S. Out-of-the-closet gays have no place in the military. Period. All the never-served-in-the-military armchair social philosophers have no right to say any different.

Triple S| 9.22.11 @ 12:27PM

And are you going to say why? No? OK, then. Don't back up your argument and be egged on by other homophobes and continue your irrational fear. Even though the world is a changing place and homosexuality will eventually be accepted and praised just like you straights

True Tourtillott | 9.20.11 @ 5:54PM

Mark,

Please explain how a US Marine can be trained to engage in combat in all manner of environments, trained to effectively operate numerous weapons systems, trained to deal with societal mores in a given theater of operation, trained to differentiate between multiple social strata & religious sects and determine how to work effectively with each, trained to withstand a combined 14 centuries of hatred against infidels but he cannot be trained (or ordered) to deal with the above while working along side a guy who happens to be attracted to guys.

Do you think that little of the modern American fighting man that he cannot possibly maintain professionalism and effectiveness under such conditions? I'd argue to the contrary.

CalMark| 9.20.11 @ 6:25PM

Gays are aggressive and prey--yes, I said PREY--on the young and unsuspecting.

And yes, I've seen it. At three different commands, two of them seagoing.

Your arguments are a red herring. There is something morally and mentally out of whack about gay people. Just because they browbeat the shrinks into saying that there isn't is political, not reality.

I'm fed up with this pro-gay crap. You wanna be gay? Do it in the privacy of your own home and don't tell me about it. Don't tell me there's something wrong with me because I don't embrace "gay rights."

Current| 9.20.11 @ 6:53PM

Get out of here you dumbass. There's a difference between pedophilia and being gay. Most people realize they're gay when they're preteens - do they prey on the young and unsuspecting too?

I doubt you ever served, because the military I know teaches it's soldiers better than whatever irrational disorder you have.

CalMark| 9.20.11 @ 7:43PM

1. "Get out of here you dumbass. There's a difference between pedophilia and being gay."
You made that connection, not me: I meant that mature-aged homosexuals prey on young, naive troops. Like, "Wanna come to my house and play video games?" the 33-year-old openly gay ("out," flouting his gayness, awaiting discharge) Petty Officer First Class asked the 19-year-old Seaman Apprentice. WRONG on so many levels--age and rank difference, etc. The old cliche about gay men tricking young men to "come over" came immediately to mind. Oh, yeah--I was an officer, and he asked me out too.

2. "I doubt you ever served, because the military I know teaches it's soldiers better than whatever irrational disorder you have."
Some of us successfully survived the leftist brainwashing. According to my DD-214, I served for a decade. Anyway, most front-line type despise homosexuality. They're just not in a position to say so--the penalties for violating transgressions against Political Correctness are among the most arbitrary and horrific--we're talking life-ruining discharges.

As for you, "You can't handle the truth." I think you're a homosexual or enabler with an agenda.

P.S. Thanks for making the gay-pedophile connection. It's very real, but I didn't bring it up specifically because it wasn't relevant--until you made it so. (I guess NAMBLA is a figment of conservative imagination. NAMBLA being the "National Man-Boy Love Association," a proudly gay organization dedicated to free sexual expression between grown men and pubescent boys.)

True Tourtillott | 9.20.11 @ 8:14PM

In my experience, the most vociferous opponents to homosexuals in the military are the guys you are most likely to see stumble out of Hamburger Mary's.

CalMark| 9.20.11 @ 8:32PM

So, the conservative defender of traditional values provides specific examples and arguments. The progressive militant responds with a gratuitous ad hominem attack.

But I'm puzzled, what with you being so pro-gay and open-minded and all--why on earth do you think it's insulting to call me (in your cute, cowardly way) a homosexual? It ain't true, and your saying so doesn't make it so. And according to enlightened people like you, it shouldn't matter. Heck, it should be a COMPLIMENT.

Oh, wait, I understand: you're labeling me so you can declare open season on me with an easy conscience. That's what Democrats do with women, minorities, and other "should-be Democrats" who violate the Leftist shibboleths.

It only shows two things:
1. You are incapable of rational argument
2. You're a trapped in the closet of bigotry, and you'll never come out.

True Tourtillott | 9.20.11 @ 10:50PM

I said, "In my experience, the most vociferous opponents to homosexuals in the military are the guys you are most likely to see stumble out of Hamburger Mary's."

I never asserted that you were gay.

With my full name and link to my website attached to each post I've no reason to say anything else but precisely what I mean, and I assure you, had I meant to say what you apparently projected on yourself, I'd have done so in no uncertain terms.

You clearly didn't read the blog post that I linked to above in response to Mr. Guardino's. Had you done so, you'd have seen that I'm far from progressive.

What I am is realistic and apparently a whole lot more respectful of the maturity and professionalism of the Modern Fighting Man.

I believe that if our current Military men can handle waves of suicide bombers, a war they may or may not agree with and a POTUS who can't seem to make up his mind about what to do in Iraq and Afghanistan that a gay guy is not going to be a threat to unit effectiveness. In fact, he'd be amongst the least of their worries. I believe that because I respect them and because I'm not a bigot who is projecting my own biases on others.

CalMark| 9.20.11 @ 8:41PM

P.S. One last thing, O Enlightened One: gays in the military is a bad idea for the same reason as women in combatant units is a bad idea: it ruins esprit de corps by introducing unnecessary and totally avoidable tensions. The other stuff is no less true, and I said it because I'm tired of being browbeaten by self-appointed arbiters of morality who lecture everyone to "Tolerate Everything."

james| 9.20.11 @ 9:45PM

Heterosexual pedophiles greatly outnumber homosexual. Children 15 years old are allowed to marry in some states. Polygamy i still around and you spit out an obscenely small group (NAMBLA) and broad brush gay people? You did't bring it up but you sure bit into NAMBLA. You bigoted piranha are
disgusting.

dw| 9.20.11 @ 11:39PM

Saying there are more "heterosexual" deviants than homosexual deviants is like saying "the earth is more water than land mass". Gays make 3% of the U.S. and NAMBLA is an organization that promotes the male homosexual intergenerational lifestyle, yes an actual organization that is now trying to make inroads into a culture that now accepts transgendered people as if they are not delusional.

Broad brushes? Yep, it's what we "bigoted heterosexual white conservatives" are good at.

btw, lookup the story of Allen Ginsburg the beat poet that wrote "Howl", heralded by the left as a genius of his generation. He, a homosexual was the father of the NAMBLA movement.

True Tourtillott | 9.20.11 @ 7:18PM

Well, you didn't answer the first question, but you certainly answered the second. What a shame.

Kevin M| 9.23.11 @ 2:48AM

And of course, we have NEVER seen heterosexual servicemen pursue or prey on servicewomen - oh wait, yes we have. Incessantly, in fact.

You want gays to keep it in "our" houses? Fine. Keep your heterosexuality in "your" house. Don't flaunt your wedding ring, don't put pictures of your girlfriend on your desk at work, stop kissing the wife goodbye on the front steps - how DARE you flaunt all that heterosexuality in front of people who don't embrace "straight rights".

Or just shut the fuck up, bigot.

Ted| 9.21.11 @ 11:25AM

True Tourtillot,

We would try and explain, but it's pretty clear that you have an agenda to try and show that sexuality, particularly homosexuality, is benign like skin color. Those of us who have been in the military and many who have not understand sexuality is many things, but it is not benign.

This isn't about training anyone to kill or operate in adverse environments. We can train a monkey to do that. This is about unit cohesion and discipline and how introducing open sexuality in to certain environments can destroy them.

You can use all the sophistry you want, but all you have to do is look at the problems rampant in mixed gender units to know that introducing sexuality is anything but benign. As for trained or ordered to deal with the above, it hasn't worked in gender integrated units.

Please spare us how sainted and professional homosexuals are. I have twice in my life been on the receiving end of homosexual sexual harassment, and this cause more of the same military wide.

Triple S| 9.22.11 @ 12:36PM

And so, because you have been harassed twice in your life (and gays never get harassed for what they are do they?) that means that every single gay is going to be this horrible person who delights in the suffering of younger people huh? Again, as I keep saying in my previous comments, you homophobes have no real ground on which to say; "All gays are sex predators! All gays are abominations against humanity! All gays will upend the entire military! All gays will ruin the stability of one of the strongest nations in the world!". Sometimes I think that living in Australia is so much better than here.

Kevin M| 9.23.11 @ 2:50AM

Ted,

As a gay man, I have many many times been on the receiving end of heterosexual sexual harassment. I've had women ask me out repeatedly when I've told them I'm not interested. I've had them pester me for my phone number even when I've told them no. Sometimes, you know, you just have to man up and take it.

Your incoherent arguments about "unit cohesion" are exactly the same ones white soldiers used to complain about having to shower with "nigrahs" and use the same commodes as they did. And they're just as pointless.

Zack| 9.20.11 @ 6:08PM

Having served as an Army officer, I don't see DADT as a threat to the "unique warrior culture" of the military. I agree with the Tourtillot that I'm curious to know whether Gaurdiano has any first-hand experience in the military or not.

That said, I couldn't care less about Choat's hurt feelings. But neither am I ready to turn a debate about DADT into a debate about whether the military needs to champion homosexuality. The fact that some gay activists are extremists doesn't affect the merits of DADT any more than the fact that some pro life activists are extremists affects whether abortion is wrong.

This seems like a non-issue to most people I talk to. There are already some gay soldiers, but not a ton. I highly doubt that many of them are going to start outing themselves now just because DADT is done, just as I highly doubt we're going to see a huge influx of gay soldiers. Much ado about nothing.

Wayne| 9.20.11 @ 6:30PM

That's because you were an officer with your own quarters. You did not have to walk into a shower as two men were having sex.

CalMark| 9.20.11 @ 6:39PM

He's probably been heavily indoctrinated, too.

The military is more about brainwashing than mission these days. I was a Navy officer, and on our personnel evaluation forms, "Tactical Proficiency" carried equal weight on paper as "Equal Opportunity." The main difference being that a below-average grade in the former will not necessarily end your career; in the latter, you're dead meat, probably for all government service.

'Nuff said.

Zack| 9.20.11 @ 8:47PM

Dude, you've got issues. I'm glad that you can tell I'm "indoctrinated" from three paragraphs.

And Wayne, DADT or no, that kind of conduct seems like an easy way to get an article 15 if not a BCD. Did that happen to you or is it just hypothetical?

Kevin M| 9.23.11 @ 2:53AM

Wayne, as has been made repeatedly clear, just because gay men can openly serve does not mean that showers are now orgy rooms. Two men having sex in the shower can still be dealt with under fraternization rules. What a load of crap.

Wayne| 9.20.11 @ 6:28PM

Homosexuals will not even affirm bisexuals. It runs counter to their narrative that if one prefers one's own sex, then they can't switch to the opposite sex.
But we are now a few years from having an all-gay army. A straight individual would no more subject himself to the tight quarters of the military than turn gay himself.

Paul| 9.20.11 @ 7:08PM

Marines don't have to promote or affirm a person's sexuality. They need to respect people for who they are. Whether the person is a different race, religion, gender, sexuality, etc. None of those things should be hidden among ranks because if you have a problem serving with those people then you have a problem protecting those people, and those people make up the United States.

CalMark| 9.20.11 @ 7:45PM

Are you a Marine? Were you one?

If not, shut up.

Curtis Rasmussen| 9.20.11 @ 7:25PM

Race and gender are two genetically programmed features of normal men that cannot be changed at the DNA level. The others are merely predispositions, the strength of which is open for argument.

Lumping normal inherited genetic traits and personal choices together as if they're all the same is ludicrous. This means that any group with influence can push for special rights thru legislation and force everyone else to recognize them at the risk of being sued for abstaining from playing the PC game. I for one am sick of it.

Kevin M| 9.23.11 @ 2:58AM

Sexual orientation is not a "personal choice" - or did you choose to be straight? When did you choose it, and how did you come to make that decision? Surely you mean that you were equally attracted to men and women and made a "personal choice" to go with women, right?

If not - what makes you think your presumed experience - that you found you were straight because you discovered it was women who appealed to you sexually - would be different for gays? Why do you assign the loaded term "personal choice" to what presumably has to be the mirror process: a man discovering he was gay because it was men who appealed to him sexually?

And for the record: one thing that clearly *is* a choice - religion - has far more protection under the law than sexual orientation ever will. In fact, to listen to most evangelicals, one HAS to "choose" Jesus as one's personal savior to be a true Christian - if that's not "personal choice" being protected by law, something totally non-genetically inherited, then I don't know what is.

Sam Conner| 9.20.11 @ 8:17PM

This is a dangerous line of thinking that is essentially coercive and totalitarian in nature. It is one thing to ask that the military accept and tolerate Black men and women. However, it is another thing entirely to demand that traditionalists and religious believers -- of whom there are many in the Marine Corps -- recognize and champion the Black race.
See how stupid and bigoted that sounds? Same thing. If you can't embrace equality, why do you want to serve as a marine to protect equal rights. Why do you even want to live in this country?

dw| 9.20.11 @ 11:20PM

Who's equal rights were being violated under DADT?
Do you identify yourself through your sexual preferences? Do you go around introducing yourself as Sam "I'm a heterosexual or homosexual"? Is your life defined by your sexuality? If you've answered yes to any of these questions then you might want to have your head examined.

The idea that you could equate the black civil rights struggle with the social and military acceptance of a sexual based lifestyle is pathetic at best.

Triple S| 9.22.11 @ 12:44PM

Would anyone else go around and introduce themselves as "I'm a half Asian-Caucasian"? Our right to be able to be respected for what we are was being suppressed, idiot. Why can none of you think about the reality of anything? You all act as though gays had everything straights have. WE DO NOT! We have to live in a world with people like you. Do you have anyone who hates and fears you for something they CANNOT control? You are born gay you dick. If we could choose it, THEN WHY WOULD WE CHOOSE THE DIFFICULT LIFE!!!

Kevin M| 9.23.11 @ 3:02AM

DW - straight people go around announcing their sexual orientation all day long. They talk about their wives, their husbands, their girlfriends, their boyfriends; they wear wedding rings, they put pictures of their significant others on their desks, they post announcements of their upcoming marriages or baby showers or whatever on the bulletin boards. In other words, they shove it in people's faces all day long - you just don't realize it because to you, that's just life. But let one gay man mention "My boyfriend and I went to see 'Spiderman' yesterday" and suddenly he's defining his life by his sexuality.

Gays and lesbians do not have a "sexual based lifestyle" any more than straights do. Get over your ignorant self.

dugbug| 9.20.11 @ 8:47PM

Most of these pro DADT posts are obviously written by closet cases living in the parents' basement. Pathetic.

Triple S| 9.22.11 @ 12:46PM

Well, if not that, then they have been indoctrinated to an extreme extent by fellow homophobes.

Julian Sanchez| 9.20.11 @ 9:35PM

These are very strange definitions of "affirm" and "promote". If the military instructs soldiers not to "shun and disparage" Jewish fellow servicemen, is that a totalitarian requirement to "promote and affirm" Judaism?

Tony| 9.20.11 @ 9:40PM

Well this active duty Major is probably in some very hot water over his disloyal and disrepectful comments towards the current Coomandant of the Marine Corps. Gay or not, he is an officer of Marines and will be held accountable for his comments in such a public forum. His comments are a detriment to good order and discipline, i.e.; calling out a General officer in his whiney tantrum. Can't wait to get to work and forward his OpEd up the chain and ask "what are we going to do about this decenting officer?" See, getting serve openly will not be enough for the gay activists types. They have to have a saop box to stand on for the "AGENDA".

Nam Marine| 9.21.11 @ 12:05AM

Marines will never change! That's why not everyone can become one! Go pester the Army, and leave the REAL Combat Troops alone!

Kevin M| 9.23.11 @ 3:04AM

You mean, the Marines will always be bottoms? Because that's certainly been my experience with them.

CHuckFeney| 9.21.11 @ 4:49AM

The Perry Military Comes Out

Since Obama dumped “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”,
The Marines have been going through Hell.
Imagine what comes to mind
When you hear “We don’t leave our Marines behind”

And “looking for a few good men” now rings a different bell!

Yet the Navy didn’t have the same kind of trouble.
They made their changes “Aye, Aye, and on the double”!
Their anthem “Anchors Away”
Got changed to “Y.M.C.A.” ,
And the Lava soap has been replaced with “Mr. Bubble”!

The Army wants to avoid this slippery slope,
Developing strategies to help the soldiers cope.
For the cadre to be effectual
They must be more metrosexual
And new recruits must now be issued soap on a rope!

But for Republican troops, these changes will be scary,
‘Cause there’s some skeletons even grave diggers can’t bury!
Soon their candidate will flout
His flaming desire to come out
After he’s elected, and gets sworn as President Perry!

Yes, gay military will toast that merry day
With bottles of Champagne and Perrier!
They’ll dance for all to see,
Just like they do in “Gay Paree”
When the newspapers proclaim that Perry’s Gay!

rssg| 9.21.11 @ 6:32AM

Every homo is a disgrace, a wimp, a masturbating loser and does not belong to serve in the armed forces. Every single one of them should be run out of the services.

Am I clear?

Triple S| 9.22.11 @ 12:52PM

Well, there's no question that you're all of those things.
What's disgraceful? You can't give a good answer.

I am certainly not a wimp, and how on Earth could any wimp get through the training to get into the Navy, you idiot!

And how god awfully stupid of you to say that gays masturbate. I thought that EVERY man and MOST, if not all women, masturbated. If you're insinuating that gays can't have sex, then I can assure we can. Just look up some gay porn. It's all there in high definition

bobmontgomery| 9.21.11 @ 11:01AM

Well yes! It's time for the Marines to not only give sexual orientation the respect it deserves, but also political orientation. For far too long, communism has been disrespected by the Marines. We think the Marines should openly accept and embrace communism. In fact, they should openly accept and embrace totalitarianism. It is just as valid a political orientation as republicanism. Incest should no longer have to be kept in the closet, but brought out and celebrated. Marines should have to sign a statement saying they support usury. Usury is just as valid a banking scheme as any other. The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff went on TV yesterday to say that homosexuality is going to makeour armed forces a more effective fighting force. Now.....who is it that is running for office who wants my vote? Hmmmm?

Kevin M| 9.23.11 @ 3:05AM

Every time I read articles from or comments at the American Spectator, all I can think is "The stupid, it burns....."
