Days of Our Lives

In the Daily Caller this week, one of conservadom’s brightest lights, Matt Labash, says something I believe very much needs to be said about the right’s reaction to the Jimmy Hoffa comments — specifically, “toughen up, crybabies and civility scolds”:

Even if you’re being those things under the guise of tit-for-tat. The whole point of picking sides is that you believe yours to be better. So here’s a wild suggestion: why not prove it by actually being better? All I hear about these days from Tea Party types is what a fight we’re in. And one could easily argue that we are. But if you want to go around getting into fights, sooner or later, you’re going to have to learn how to take a punch without bursting into tears.

By all means, point out the hypocrisy of how the left will turn any unkind conservative glance or word into a existential threat to the republic, but — please! — do not fight these people by becoming them. The country is full up on indignant faux victims already. That would be…well, you know.

Tis a good point, but it must be mentioned, there is a strand of Conservative Inc., who don't notice or bother to speak up that the antifa's are increasing their pressure and threats on what is left of the American right--bomb threats at conferences, intimidation, things like that.

The Law does nothing and perhaps worse, conservatives in DC are too scared, perhaps rightfully so, to open their mouths about it--look at Robert McCain.

It's more then taking a punch, it's realizing, sooner or later, one has to throw one back one way or the other.

I haven't noticed anyone 'crying' about Hoffa's remarks -- if there have been complaints, they haven't been 'he hurt my feelings' but 'what a load of hypocrites the Lefties are' (over the civility 'outrage' after the tragic shooting of Rep. Giffords early this year).

For my part, I ordered this t-shirt the next day. ..bruce..

That would be...well, you know? Hey, if you can't say it, I will for you!! That would be Retarded!!

So according to that link, now we can't say retarded, huh? Sorry, but I've been saying that word for as long as I can remember, and no offense to retarded people, or as they're calling them now, an “individual with an intellectual disability”, I'm not going to stop using the word, because it works so well, in so many different situations.

Oh yeah, by the way, Jimmy "the Lesser" Hoffa's a Retard!!

You see what I mean?

That's so much better than, Jimmy "the Lesser" Hoffa's an individual with an intellectual disability!! That just sucks!! It sucks so bad that it's dare I say, Retarded!!

The last Hoffa, who shot his mouth off, is takin' a cement nap under Giant's Stadium.

Others report fed into a wood chipper or Michigan furnace...

While the Tea Party and similar groups promoting freedom should not initiate violent confrontations, knowing the nature of the opposition, we should know how to deal with them. You do not reason with a mad dog.

A little off-topic, but I would never describe Labash as one of conservativism's "brightest lights". I've read him on Daily Caller, and he's not very conservative, and definitely not very bright.
I certianly wouldn't give any credence to his little scold.
