Barring a massive breakdown in public polling or some other
unforseen event, a Republican will win the special congressional
election in NY-9. When the Democrats won in NY-26, scandal, a third
party challenger on the right, and other mitigating circumstances
were thrown out the window in favor of the idea that the election
was a pure referendum on Paul Ryan’s plan for Medicare. To be sure,
the Ryan plan was a factor in the result. But it was just one.
So will the NY-9 result be a referendum on President Obama, gay
marriage, and other national issues? Or will it just be about
Anthony Weiner? Somehow I have a feeling it will depend on how
accurate those polls were.

I hope we take this seat tonight, I really, really, really do!! Not that I think we can keep it for long, but I want to take it for this election cycle at least. I'm not going to get too worked up about it though, because I've been burned too many times when it comes to politics in New York State, which is why I didn't sent the Republican Candidate any money. This seat has been held by the Democratic Party since I believe 1923?, and if they lose it tonight, they're going to have to come up with some pretty wild excuses to explain its loss away. I'm sure they will, because they're really good at lying!! The DNC supposedly had to spend $500,000 fighting to keep a seat, that they shouldn't be fighting to keep, and that's $500,000 they can't spend somewhere else. So win or lose, the Democratic Party lost.
Thanks for the Tweet Anthony "The Wiener" Weiner!! Who knew that that one picture would make it so "hard" on the Democrats this year? Oh yeah, Tony? How's the Wife doing, is she still answering the phone at Hillary's apartment in D.C.?
