Romney-Pawlenty?

When I first heard that Tim Pawlenty had endorsed Mitt Romney to be the GOP standard bearer in 2002 my first thought was, "I guess he doesn't think Obamneycare is so bad after all."

Quin Hillyer thinks Pawlenty wants to be Romney's running mate. He might very well be right on that one. Yet I can't see Romney picking him. It would be a case of the bland leading the bland. Besides why pick Pawlenty when you can pick Marco Rubio or Paul Ryan instead?

Bland is perfect for Romney, someone in the background already vetted and virtually invisible. He doesn't want another unknown like Eagleton, Ferraro and Palin where they became front and center of the campaign much to the grief of their running mates.

Romney, with his 25 years as a private sector leader and his success as chief executive of the American Olympics in 2002 is the best candidate. He inspires the most confidence.

Pawlenty was an excellent governor of Minnesota and clearly a good man.

I think they’d make an excellent team! I would enthusiastically support them!

If Romney doesn’t select Pawlenty I’d support him for the US Senate in 2014 without hesitation!

Bobby Jindal just endorsed Perry. I doubt Quin will blast Jindal as seeking the Veep nomination. Picking Jindal would make no geographical sense for Perry, anyway.

But I think Jindal would very much like to be Veep as a launchpad to the bigger job.

I like Jindal, but right now he's being outshined by guys like Rubio, Ryan, and West. Jindal's star has faded and it's more likely than not that you'll see one of those three mentioned above on the ticket rather than Jindal.

The Ruling Elite & Their Media Flunkie Stooges are setting us up for A RINO Showdown, between MittensCare Romney & Algore Cheerleader Ricky Perry.

Mr. Romneycare would make a good running mate, for Mr. Obamacare. The former is the parent of the latter.

Why in any event would the GOP choose to nominate Romney? Selecting another establishment, accomodationist Republican will do nothing to reverse the statist, centralizing trend of the past few years. A Romney Presidency will only slow (if that) the steady slippage into tyranny we are experiencing. There is little to choose from between the current devil and this proposed one.

Al, the best way to explain anything the GOP does is thus, "stupid is as stupid does." Romney - Pawlenty? No - No.
