"Angry" Romney?

Well, a prominent ally of the Obama campaign did say they were going to "kill" Mitt Romney.

Exhibit A: Mitt Romney is an Angry, White Male.

Or at least that's what Mediaite says. Their headline reads, "'Angry' Mitt Romney 'Loses His Cool' With Voter at New Hampshire Town Hall". On Wednesday, Romney got into an exchange with a woman who was opposed to a balanced budget amendment. But if you actually watch the video Romney doesn't do anything out of the ordinary. I'll allow that Romney was annoyed with her. But that's a long way from being angry.

But put yourself into Romney's position. Wouldn't you be annoyed if someone asks you a question and he or she interrupts as you are trying give them an answer. It's called question & answer for a reason. Audience members ask questions and Romney answers them. He might not give the answer they want to hear but if that is the case then they are free to vote for President Obama. Speaking of Obama, Mediaite columnist Tommy Christopher observes:

Even if you allow that the woman might have been aggressively interupting Romney, his performance is still a stark contrast from the way President Obama handled a pair of Tea Party members aggressively questioned, and interrupted him over Vice President Biden's comments on the debt ceiling negotiations. Whether or not you liked his responses, the President engaged them calmly and extensively, even as he shook hands with others in the crowd.

But what Christopher does not mention is that Obama's confrontation with the Tea Partiers was a continuation of what occurred at the conclusion of a town hall meeting in Decorah, Iowa earlier this month. Iowa Tea Party activist Ryan Rhodes tried to ask how this country can come together if Biden is calling Tea Partiers terrorists. While answering another person's question Obama replied:

Now, in fairness, since I've been called a socialist who wasn't born in this country, who is destroying America and taking away its freedoms because I passed a health care bill, I'm all for lowering the rhetoric.

So Obama equates being called a socialist with Biden calling Tea Partiers terrorists? Calling Obama a socialist isn't a pejorative. It is an accurate description of his political views. If Obama lived in Canada or in Britain, he would fit in quite well with the NDP or the Labour Party. Or for that matter the Democratic Socialists of America. Make no mistake. Obama was just as annoyed (though not angry) with the Tea Partiers as Romney was with the woman in New Hampshire. Indeed, Obama curtly told Rhodes, "It doesn't sound like you're interested in listening."

As for Romney, he was no angrier in New Hampshire than he was in Iowa earlier this month. Indeed, Romney gave the heckler the space to ask his question about Social Security & Medicare.

Now I have plenty of reservations about Romney. But angry? Romney is about as angry as Mr. Rogers. If the liberal media wants to know what angry is then see what happens when George Brett has a homerun taken away from him.

The Kinkster supports Rick Perry:

http://www.thedailybeast.com/a.....vote.html.

I know Clint and Jack hate the Kinkster. Another mark in the ledger against them. This man wrote the classics: They Ain't Making Jews Like Jesus Anymore" and "Get Your Biscuits in the Oven and Your Buns in Bed."

Perry/Bachmann anyone?

WTF ?

Mr Tool, I too am a fan of Kinkster's music. On this and I suspect a few other things we can agree.

Hank| 8.26.11 @ 1:50PM

I could see the attempt to paint Romney as "Angry" backfiring on the left. Normally he is seen as a placid flip flopper. This could make people think he has a spine.

The Ruling Elite RINO-CINO's & Their Flunkie Agendists Are Setting Us Up For Their Boy, Mittens Romney.

Start Now To Stop Him.

The Tea Party Rebellion Is Here.

Rise Up In Rebellion.

TexasMom2012| 8.26.11 @ 6:13PM

He doesn't seem angry, ever. But still no MITT. I hope the early states get it right because it is all over except for the fat lady by the time Texas gets to weigh in on the R nominee. And that chaps my hide, a lot! The primary schedule should rotate not continue the same method that got us McCain, Dole, even Bush although I agreed with him the 70% of the time necessary to vote for him...

The process used to select US presidents has done a very poor job. Thinking back over the last 50 years, the best Republican candidate had to have been Reagan, while the best Democrat had to have been Clinton. Leaving out these two candidates, the rest were extremely poor choices. A system that produces so many poor candidates is clearly broken.

People can disagree about what to call Romney's recent animated discussion(s) with voters, but whatever you call his performance I don't think it's very persuasive or very presidential.

That woman is a rino.

Chuck| 8.27.11 @ 6:05AM

This episode is phony. My guess a staged/ rehearsed event by Romney to show us how tough he is. What a fraud and a liar and a bad one at that.

'....Poll: Perry, Romney Neck-and-Neck in Ohio
Friday, August 26, 2011 03:00 PM By: Newsmax Wires...The battle is on between Mitt Romney and Rick Perry for the front-runner spot in the Republican presidential campaign. In the key battleground state of Ohio, a new Public Policy Polling survey of Republican voters shows the Texas governor barely ahead of the former Massachusetts governor — 21 percent to 20 percent.Perry’s lead is statistically insignificant given the poll’s 4.9 percent margin of error. The survey was taken Aug. 11-14. Perry only entered the race Aug. 13. Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann took third place in the poll, with 14 percent, followed by businessman Herman Cain with 10 percent, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Texas Rep. Ron Paul tied with 8 percent, and former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman with 1 percent.Putting former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin into the mix, Perry again tallies 21 percent, with Romney second at 18 percent and Palin third at 11 percent....'

"Rasmussen Has Ron Paul Running Closest With Obama
Erik Hayden Aug 24, 2011:

Who does the president fare worst against in a head-to-head matchup? On Wednesday, Rasmussen released its latest nationwide early campaign survey. And right now, Barack Obama does well against Mitt Romney (46 to 38 percent) and narrowly leads Perry (43 to 40 percent) and Michele Bachmann (43 to 39 percent).

Which means, if you combine these results with the Rasmussen poll released Tuesday, the GOP candidate doing the best against the president is....Ron Paul? Yesterday's head-to-head poll showed the libertarian trailing the president 39 to 38 percent, by presumably the same methodology."

Shamus| 8.29.11 @ 6:55AM

Polling is kind of like a weather report. It's not all that accurate, and it's only good for a short time. A generic Republican does better than any specific candidate according to polls. And Obama still has months to do heinously stupid things. The public might be watching this time.

Oldefarte| 8.28.11 @ 9:57AM

[Shazam, if the MSM begins convering him, no doubt there is some subversive motive to same. It's certainly not because they prefer/agree with him etc. Possibly could it be because they want to draw public attention away from the other Republicans in order to facilitate a Demoratic victory???????????]:

'.....Media Begins Covering Ron Paul Friday, August 26, 2011 01:58 PMPresidential candidate Ron Paul may have been smart to complain that the media wasn’t giving him enough attention in the wake of his second place finish in the Iowa Straw Poll. He’s getting it now, Politico reports. After a Gallup poll this week showed the Texas congressman running third in the race, the coverage is intensifying. Paul is set to appear on “Fox News Sunday” this weekend, and Time magazine is running a four-page spread on his campaign strength in the issue that comes out Saturday.

Paul’s complaints helped Time editors decide to run the story, said its author, Alex Altman. “He performed strongly at Ames,” Altman told Politico. “I thought, and my editors think, that he had a valid complaint that he was being overlooked.”....'

Solo| 8.28.11 @ 10:11AM

He is being overlooked. But...there's a rational reason for that.

He is going to be a non-player in this nomination process. He's a quack, a kook and an appeasement monkey and there is no way rank & file conservatives within the party are going to vote for him.

The RuPaul should be careful in what he asks for. Once he starts to get broader coverage, watch his poll numbers drop like a rock.

It should be interesting to watch the "Ron Paul Newsletter" articles re-surface and a whole new generation of voters get a load of his bigotry, conspiracy quackery and antiSemitism.

Oldefarte| 8.28.11 @ 11:26AM

I don't know much about him honestly but this ['.... get a load of his bigotry, conspiracy quackery and antiSemitism...'] will be a jobvote killer for most of us. From many of his loyal followers here, this obviously appears to be the case sadly!!!
