Republican presidential candidate Jon Huntsman has a major announcement planned in Florida tomorrow. Rumors are swirling that it will be a Jeb Bush endorsement, but some reports have poured cold water on the idea.

Awww shucks!
Here I got my hopes up that he had left a suicide note or something.

So...it's a "Major Announcement", huh?
Obama is probably endorsing him for the GOP nomination.

Obama is probably endorsing him for the GOP nomination.

Obama can't win with just the hard-core liberal vote, so the last thing he wants is a GOP candidate who can give him some competition for the mushy middle. His only chance against Huntsman or Romney would be if Palin ran as a third party candidate. If Palin runs as a third party candidate Obama wins easily against any GOP nominee.

Obama's best chance would be against Bachmann. Huntsman and Romney and Perry can put their past behind them and run hard to the right, then move back to the middle for the general election and leave everyone guessing about which positions are real and which are pure pandering.

Bachmann and Palin can't move back to the middle because they've never been there. Bachmann even more than Palin. The only thing better for Obama than having Bachmann as the nominee would be Bachmann with O'Donnell as a running mate.

But of course I'm only saying that because I'm really afraid of Bachmann! Please don't choose her! Please don't let her pick O'Donnell as a running mate!

Doer's Turkey's Done.

"The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows that 21% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president. Forty-two percent (42%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -21 "

Lullabys, Legends and Lies| 8.9.11 @ 5:42PM

He's only two points away from tying his lowest approval index at -23. You know what, I'm hoping something goes right for him this week, he's had a very bad week after all. He turned 50 this week (he's old now!!), the stock market crashed, he didn't get to raise taxes, he had the worst loss of Soldier's lives in a single week since the start of the War in Afghanistan. Come on now, let's throw him a bone here, and let him set his lowest approval rating yet.

Come on -24 (do I hear a -25?)!!

I love Bachmann.

A. Doer| 8.9.11 @ 6:55PM

Me too! With Obama's approval numbers so low it really doesn't matter who you nominate so you might as well get someone who is closest to the Tea Party ideal and who is closer to Tea Party ideals than Bachmann?

"Jeff Luecke (Iowa Tea Party Co-Organizer) Endorses Ron Paul 2012 – June 2011."

Clint| 8.9.11 @ 8:05PM

"Current Iowa polling suggests Ron Paul just might pull off a surprise win, first at the Straw Poll and then second in the Iowa caucuses. As of today, Ron Paul polls in third place in Iowa, with 16 percent of the vote. He only trails Bachmann (22%) and Romney (21%), and trounces all the other declared candidates."

Occam's Tool| 8.9.11 @ 10:07PM

Yup, he might, Clint---and I will be the new Pope, Mr. Airhead.

Occam's Tool| 8.9.11 @ 10:09PM

He will lose Iowa. He will lose New Hampshire. And then he will disappear and be seen no more, vanishing beyond the Galeston Seawall to go back into the Gulf like the neolithic monster he is.

Keep dreaming, Airhead.

Occam's Tool| 8.9.11 @ 10:06PM

Indeed. And she believes in American exceptionalism and a strong Defense, too.

And she's cute.

Red Uctio| 8.9.11 @ 11:33PM

I loves me some crazy eyes. Although Clint does make a good case for Ron Paul, who as everyone knows was the one who started the Tea Party movement.

Let's just all be friends and have a Ron Paul / Michelle Bachmann ticket. Or Bachmann/Paul, either way. "Crazy for You" by Heart would be the theme song. They're not just crazy they're crazy for you, the American voter.

...he found someone interested in what he says?

yea, I kinda' went out on a limb for that one, I know.

Bill Hussein O'Stalin| 8.9.11 @ 6:54PM

He wants to announce the stock market dropped 635 points on Monday.
