Turning the Page

The House Page Program has become a casualty of Capitol Hill budget-cutting. House Speaker John Boehner and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi announced today that the program was coming to a close due to its $5 million cost and other means for delivering messages to members of Congress.

No word about the closure from Mark Foley. Gerry Studds is unavailable for comment.

Maybe the bastards could send the 5 million to the rest of us out here that lost once again our savings for retirement.

What about the consultants working for the House Sgt. At Arms? Several are receiving $90,000 to $100,000 pensions from the taxpayers but came back to the well on Capitol Hill as consultants which allows them to collect another $100,000 and also get ready to rip off social security. By the way, one of them who was hired as a security consultant, was recently arrested for assaulting a staff member after minor fender bender.

Wow, 5 million to run a page system, my lord, that is the expense side for some small corporations that actually produce some significant services and products. Now, that is what I call government efficiency!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5 million to run a page system, for pages that, I believe, receive no salary or minimal salary. Geez.

But EPA will still be allowed to give grants to environmental groups, who will use the money to turn around and sue EPA to have more of the economy shut down....right?

Let's see how they vote when the federal gas tax comes up for renewal. Please, James, no shilling for Bonehead and the other weaklings. Don't worry about not getting access to him or his office.

"due to"? do you mean "because of"?

A program that should have died 15-20 years ago.

Yes, $5 million. Lessee, a private firm could have probably done the whole thing for about $480,000 annually.

How about the intern programs?

Or do the philanderers still want their shots at the over 18 gals?

This will reduce the dating opportunities for some of our elected officials.
