The Washington, D.C. headquarters of Americans for Tax Reform, an influential, and admirably inflexible advocacy group that pushes for lower taxes, was evacuated today following a phoned-in bomb threat, The Daily Caller reports.
A spokesman for the Washington D.C. police department, Anthony Clay, told The Daily Caller that officers from the explosive ordinance [sic] division were called to the organization’s D.C. offices. The employees have since been allowed to return to work, another officer told TheDC from the scene.
No explosives were found, the officer said. Police had shut down 12th Street in Washington near ATR’s offices.
ATR and its “Taxpayer Protection Pledge” have been in the news recently as Congress considers raising the nation’s debt ceiling.
My guess is the bomb threat was phoned in by an irate left-winger. Terrorizing adversaries has long been part of the radical playbook. Witness the ongoing joint SEIU-ACORN terror campaign now directed at JPMorgan Chase.

America needs to know that ACORN is restructuring in time to help re-elect President Obama in 2012. Obama used to work for ACORN and represented the group in court as its lawyer. These radical leftists who use the brutal, in-your-face, pressure tactics of Saul Alinsky want to destroy America as we know it and will use any means to do it.

This is about The Screwballs, who attack what Grover Norquist is accomplishing.
"Controversy arose last week over a Washington Post editorial involving ( Grover) Norquist comments on the Bush tax cuts as part of the debt debate.
But Norquist later clarified his view during an interview with Newsmax, saying, “Bottom line is if Congress changes tax law reducing or limiting or delaying or ending the Bush tax cuts, that would clearly be a significant tax increase and would need to be counted as such.
“There was an effort by some to suggest that if Congress voted to get rid of the Bush tax cuts as part of a deal, the increased revenue from that wouldn’t count. Well, that just doesn’t pass the laugh test.
“People can play games with things like that, but if taxes are going up, taxes have been raised.
“Hopefully there will be little or no tax changes in the budget deal because the effort to increase the debt ceiling should focus on reducing spending. The problem we’re trying to solve is spending too much. Raising taxes is not part of fixing the overspending problem.”

I'd tell you how I would fund the Feds---set up government casinos, and tax cigarettes and alcohol heavily---maybe 50% of current cost. Eliminate income taxes and corporate taxes. The boom would be fantastic, and all taxes could be avoided or indulged in as much as one wanted.
In addition, poorer folks would be paying for their Medi/Medi.

You rightist crazies just don't want to pay your taxes! If "Nobama" associates labor unions with terrorism, then he is as "anti-american" as they come. First of all, if we cut taxes for major corporations, they WILL NOT use the savings for job creation (they already proved this by banking the TABOR/bailout funds so as to expand their record cash assets). Second, if you abolish all labor unions and minimum wage laws, so that companies can pay whatever they feel like, how many service industry workers do you honestly think will be earning a liveable wage? Three or four dollars an hour in an economy like this is very possible, because they know that there are alot of very desperate people out there, who will work for whatever anyone will pay them. I don't believe very many middle class americans want to see us return to the industry sweatshop days of the late 19th and early 20th century, merely to appease your desire to resist progress and any form of social change, at any cost. Why don't you elderly conservatives commence, by practicing what you preach, and refuse your government-run social security and medicare. It doesn't matter that you paid into this New Deal system for 30 or 40 years (created by FDR). If it's a government program--THAT'S SOCIALISM! It's your pervasive sense of entitlement (thinking that you're better than the rest of us) that's clouding your biased judgment. You far right extremists proliferate as much disinformation and fear mongering, as the far left! But you're even more hypocritical than they are, because you staunchly deny this double standard. At least, many liberals will admit it.
