Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Mo?

Where are youuuuuuuuu?

We're waiting!

It was the night President Obama was addressing Congress on ObamaCare and ran through a litany of what he insisted were lies about his health care plan. Furious at what he considered to be a lack of presidential truth-telling, South Carolina Republican Congressman Joe Wilson impulsively shouted out "You lie!" from his seat on the floor. Among other things, this was a violation of House rules and Wilson apologized to the president.

But not before New York Times columnist and uber-left winger Maureen Dowd penned a missive accusing the white Wilson of doing his misdeed because, she insisted:

Some people just can't believe a black man is president and will never accept it.

Dowd said that while Wilson only said "You lie" -- what he really meant was "You lie, boy."

Hmmmm.

So now we have the case of another Member of the House of Representatives violating House rules. Just like Joe Wilson. That Member would be, like Joe Wilson, a white person. In this case Congresswoman Debbie-Wasserman Schultz. Wasserman-Schultz, a liberal Florida Democrat who is also the new chair of the Democratic National Committee, (they of all those pro-slavery platforms) decided to level a personal attack against Congressman Allen West. Waiting until West -- a decorated career military officer before his election to the House -- was no longer present so that he could respond, Wasserman-Schultz took to the House floor, knowingly violating House rules by personally attacking her absent colleague on Medicare.

Congressman West is black. President Obama is black.

And Mo Dowd? Well… it appears Mo is suddenly and quite uncharacteristically silent.

Now that it's the white liberal female Wasserman-Schultz who pulled a Joe Wilson., the cat appears to have Mo's tongue. Even Slate's liberal Dave Weigel has stepped manfully to the plate and said Allen West is right. Weigel cites the provision in question:

A Member must stand while speaking and address the Chair in their remarks (Mister or Madam Speaker; Mister or Madam Chairman). They must also refrain from addressing other Members, the President, the gallery, or the television viewing audience.

As noted here, it is also a violation of House rules to impugn the motives of another Member.

Wasserman-Schultz did it anyway.

So we're waiting in this corner for ole' Mo to lecture Wasserman-Schultz as she did Joe Wilson. As Dowd might say, perhaps what we were really hearing from Wasserman-Schultz was "You lie, boy." We're waiting for Mo to step up to the plate in the spirit of equality liberals insist they are famous for and say this to Wasserman-Schultz:

Some people just can't believe a black man is a conservative Republican congressman and will never accept it.

Surely Mo won't let this slide by, will she?

Mo?

Mo?

Q. What do DWS and Alan Grayson have in common?
A. They're both liberal Democrats from Florida that obviously stretch the truth!!!!!

tonypal| 7.22.11 @ 2:48PM

I was thinking that they're both pigs.

David T| 7.22.11 @ 3:35PM

They're both "vile, unprofessional and despicable."

Thank you for providing me with a powerful smile today, Mr Lord.

Yes, I understand your piece (questions) here is rhetoricle as much as I know how important the article & publication of such are to we Americans in whole & individually.

Keep the faith in America flowing, freely.

While Nancy hides in the shadows after being trounced last Nov., DWS becomes the face of the DemocRATS in the House. Let's keep her out there front and center.

Maureen Dowd had to seek professional help after Bush v. Gore. Yes, she was the poster child for Bush Derangement Syndrome. It is entirely possible that Mo, seeing Obama and his team self-destruct, has over medicated herself and will not be making any comments at the present time.

"Even Slate's liberal Dave Weigel has stepped manfully to the plate and said Allen West is right."

Dave Weigel is not really a liberal, at least not in the Obama, Kennedy, Pelosi, etc. sense. He is a left libertarian, (He used to write for Reason.) or what some right libertarians have derisively called a cosmotarian.

David W| 7.22.11 @ 4:50PM

Ah, but you see, there is no racism involved. Mr. West, because he is a conservative, can't really be black (maybe, as I heard liberals say, he is at best an "oreo"?). Since he can't be a real black then there is no racism.

See how simple things can be when you use the liberal [un-]thought process???

Clint| 7.22.11 @ 4:55PM

" Dear PMS'y Super Bitch,
Let me make myself perfectly clear, you want a personal fight, I am happy to oblige. You are the most vile, unprofessional ,and despicable member of the US House of Representatives,"

"You have proven repeatedly that you are not a Lady, therefore, shall not be afforded due respect from me!,"

" Aaaand Ya Only Got One Headlight, Which Causes Ya To Walk In Circles. "
West concluded.

One reason I am not a liberal is that I cannot mentally, morally and ethically pivot on a dime. It must be exhausting to constantly have to leap back and forth from position to position, and I am too old and tired to do it.

Five seconds ago, it was the height of racism to say anything disparaging about a black man, but now it is perfectly fine. In five more seconds it will be forbidden again. Whew! Who has time and energy to keep this all straight?

Richard Baker| 7.22.11 @ 9:19PM

Colonel West can defend himself. These detractors couldn't carry his jock.

danny| 7.22.11 @ 10:39PM

if they're smart thay won't pick a fight with col. west. but then they are not very smart.

PsychoDad| 7.22.11 @ 11:40PM

Really, do you expect anything at the NYT to defend a conservative against a pinko? I assume the brief piece here was meant as an extended rhetorical question.

Semper Fi| 7.23.11 @ 8:54PM

Alan West is a discredited blowhard. He was RELIEVED of his command (a very serious rebuke to any officer commanding troops in the field) in Iraq, and darn near courts-martialed.
He's not even fit to be a platoon leader (a position typically held by young lieutenants out of the academy).

Telimicus| 7.24.11 @ 7:31PM

I disagree agree. semper fi. as should you if you are really a marine. If you look into the case of Col west you will see that he violated protocol in an effort to protect his men. he was willing to fall on the grenade so to speak. In his position, I would only hope that my commander would put his soldiers lives above that of his own career. I applaud Col west for the sacrafice he made to protect his troops. As should any true soldier. In the army we have a motto similar to Semper Fi. It goes "Never Leave a Fallen Comrade". Col West lived up to that motto and it cost him his career. That takes great courage and great honor.

LC Jackboot| 7.23.11 @ 11:28PM

Col. West is neither a blowhard or an unfit C.O. He was cashiered out of country for firing a pistol near a terroist's head to extract information that was thought to be critical to safety of his men. Being relieved of command is indeed a dishonor, but under the circumstances and in any other wars than ones fought under our silly notion of treating our enemies 'fairly' and all that nonsense. He was entirely justified. Your obvious posing as a marine or some such bunk doesn't hide your true colors troll.
