Of the news that the administration may require insurers to cover contraceptives for women free of charge, ThinkProgress' Matthew Yglesias writes, "...you have a pretty seamless web here between social and cultural liberation and practical economic betterment."

That's right: social and cultural liberation will be destroyed as Catholics in Lousiana will be forced to pay for the contraceptives (and abortifacients, if you read closely) of nonbelievers in New York City, as a part of the government taking over one of the largest sectors of the economy and making it even less efficient than before. These phenomena are interrelated.

Obamacare and all related economic issues should be on the table of cuts. This is one of the elephants in the room being ignored.

Always good to see Liberal Priests hoisted on their own Petard. Capitalism and Conservatism are good for you and good for kids.

"Women’s groups and medical professionals applauded the recommendations while the Roman Catholic Church raised strenuous objections.

"The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and some conservative groups, including the Family Research Council, denounced the recommendation on birth control. "

Let's Guess Which Screwball American Spectator Israel Firster Agenda Fanatic This Poseur Really Is.

Hmmmmmmm !

"Judah, demanded the fulfillment of the supreme politico-religious ideal of medieval Judaism—the "return to Jerusalem". His own decision to go to Jerusalem never wavered. "Can we hope for any other refuge either in the East or in the West where we may dwell in safety?"

JohnD| 7.20.11 @ 6:25PM

To expand on Occam's post, free market capitalism is necessary for liberty, and liberty is an inalienable right from God.

I am sure Obamacare will fully cover politically correct medical procedures and services like contraceptives, abortion and sex change operations, while denying care for cancer, heart disease, et.al.

Bob Grant| 7.20.11 @ 8:26PM

Oh yes. And what about all of those diseases that are of special interest to his legion?

Yep. Just as there surely will be death panels, some diseases and associated research, will be prioritized over others.

Welcome to Obamaland. Formerly the United States of America.

Al Adab| 7.20.11 @ 7:20PM

Totally off subject but does anyone remember the events of July 20, 1969? Have we fallen so far into our decline that those events are irrelevant?

mjfin| 7.21.11 @ 12:33AM

It is off subject Adab, but good for you for bringing it up. 42nd year anniversary. Haven't seen any mention of lunar events anywhere else on TAS.
