A week ago Politico ran a piece
“Mitt Romney: No apologies on climate change stance”. Until there
are, anyway. However sad and half-measured they may be.
Today, in an article “Romney’s climate protection plan” not
available on line, Politico writes of Romney’s
increasingly tortured squirming to make the mess he created go
away. And while it is difficult to imagine, once again the cover-up
is worse than the crime. If only in that it involves no recognition
and repentance — Romney knows he can’t afford any more of that, so
you see his problem — but compounds things.
Summarized, I quote Sir Walter Scott: ”Oh what a tangled web we
weave when first we practice to deceive”.
For ‘politicos’ out there, it is captured with this: this is
completely different. My plan was at the state level. And anyway I
didn’t really say what I said. See? So, really, it is completely
different from the nearly identical plan Obama sought at the
federal level.
But it’s not like the press are going to emphasize this in the
campaign, or anything, having seen how dispiriting this was last
time with McCain. I mean, McCain was a believer. Romney’s just a
politician on the matter. So he should be fine. And start measuring
for carbon-neutral drapes.

Chris,
I've stated many times: "I will vote for Elmer Fudd if necessary".
Well, Romney comes close enough I guess.

How did this guy ever get to be regarded as a serious Republican presidential candidate? There is hardly a dime's worth of difference between him and Obama.
If Obama, by some miracle, has an opponent in the Democratic Primary he or she will probably be to the right of Romney!

One thing I do find hopeful is that in 2008 he was considered the conservative candidate. Now he is struggling to claim that label because we have learned more about pseudo-conservatives. Romney seems to have already peeked. He has the money, but he didn't have to start from scratch. So I would not be surprised to see it wind down to Romney, Bachmann and Perry. In this group I see Romney probably being third because he can just not explain his stance on government controlled health care and the AGW pseudo-science.

We on the left thank you Governor Romney; your statewide health care plan provided the template for the national plan. Also thank you for believing in global warming and in response government action to curtail it. Last but not least thank you for supporting abortion rights in the past. Some say you're anti-choice today but I don't believe it, you governed pro-choice. I'm still voting for the President but you're a worthy opponent way better than those two dumb clucks who can't find Lexington & Concord on a New Hampshire map whoops I mean a Mass map.

It it walks and talks like a Socialist, it is a Socialist...

Could I add to that:
a Globalist?

I lost my enthusiasm for Romney when he made that stupid statement about AGW. What little support I might have given him is gone. If he hasn't figured out the total FRAUD of 'climate change' he should not be President. He should have talked to any of many scientists who could have explained to him what is going on. Senator Imhoff could have clued him in!!
