From Joe Weisenthal at
BusinessInsider, another rant from Wynn Resorts CEO Steve
Wynn:
The guy keeps making speeches about redistribution and maybe we
ought to do something to businesses that don’t invest, their
holding too much money. We haven’t heard that kind of talk except
from pure socialists. Everybody’s afraid of the government and
there’s no need soft peddling it, it’s the truth. It is the truth.
And that’s true of Democratic businessman and Republican
businessman, and I am a Democratic businessman and I support Harry
Reid. I support Democrats and Republicans. And I’m telling you that
the business community in this company is frightened to death of
the weird political philosophy of the President of the United
States. And until he’s gone, everybody’s going to be sitting on
their thumbs.
This is some great red meat, but Wynn is a curious figure,
particularly in saying that he supports his state’s senator, Harry
Reid. At what point during Obama’s presidency has Reid not carried
water for him? How can he single out Reid as a figure worth
supporting, but not Obama?
And interesting trivia: Wynn donated to the campaign of Billy
Tauzin III, who ran for his father’s seat after his father left
Congress and took a job as a lobbyist for PhRMA. Dad’s crowning
achievement in that position? Obamacare.
Perhaps Wynn’s support for politicians whose policies he
despises makes him a more credible critic — he even donated to
Obama’s campaign in 2008. But supporting Reid still is an untenable
position when crying out against big government.

No, Wynn voted the way other big-time CEOs voted - democrat and liberal. He failed to see the obvious while Obama was running. Now, because of his lack of due diligence (actually more like blind stupidity) Obama is screwing him. So, like Obama does so well, Wynn is throwing Obama under the bus. Maybe he'll wise up and do the same to Reid, but I doubt it.

I imagine he is more afraid of Reid than Obama because Reid has nearly SIX years since he was just reelected and we have a shot at dumping the O in less than TWO years... Simply self preservation to not dump on the guy Wynn is stuck with and has been bringing the gravy to Nevada for years.

Steve Wynn is a sleazy corporocrat, who manages a business that is the ultimate in discretionary, non-value added economic activity.
He should shut up and be thankful that there are enough nitwits around to permit his organizations doors every day.
And plenty of 'businesspeople' ought to be afraid-those bureaucrats that manage large publicly traded corporations who have minimal actual investment in their firms(as opposed to the owner(s) of small private businesses) and actively thwart the actual owners(shareholders) or their fiduciary representatives when they try to actively assert their ownership interests. They should be scared that if they don't actively invest and employ within the US, for export as well as domestic consumption, that they will be personally and professionally ruined by government action, as well as named and shamed /shunned on the urging of political
and cultural leaders.
