President Obama's nomination of former Ohio AG Richard Cordray
to lead the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau
raises the question of what will become of Elizabeth Warren,
who had played a leading role in designing the CFPB.
A number of commentators are suggesting that she will challenge
Scott Brown for the Senate in Massachusetts, as Democrats have few
other strong candidates. But setting aside the fact that Brown
remains popular in Massachusetts, it's an open question whether
Warren would be a good campaigner. She's widely regarded as a
"progressive hero," but mostly because she, perhaps by default, has
been the standard-bearer for the anti-bank sentiment of the left
wing. In a presidential election year, though, a Senate race
won't be decided by the frustrations of the netroots on one
issue.
Could Warren appeal to Massachusetts voters on a wide range of
issues? The early indications are that she wouldn't be much more
convincing than Martha Coakley was:
Even in her role as would-be super-regulator, though, Warren has
not shown a winning politician's ability to think on her
feet:
She could always run for DOG CATCHER in Georgia!!!!!!!!!

Well Scotty will not be getting my dollars to help him run for
the Senate. His Dodd Frank vote was a vote for statism and I'm not
financing any part of his run.

Wise. Dodd-Frand is at least as disasterous as Obamacare, and
any Republican who supported it should be dumped. Our economy is
based on capitalism, and capitalism requires a strong, vibrant and
flexible financial sector. Leftists are trying to turn the finance
sector into a conglomeration of utilities.

Everything about Warren makes my skin crawl. She oozes the
attitude and arrogance of the far left in her mission to control
the lives of others. It's evident just from looking at her. Same
with Ben Bernanke. No bearded economist should even be allowed in
the front door of the Fed.

Elizabeth Warren offers a cultural demographic viewpoint that a
majority of the USA shares, yet is lacking from the thieves on Wall
Street and now from the US Supreme Court .... she is a Sunday
School teacher.
WASPS have become strangely obsolete in the USA policy making
positions even though we were instrumental in building this
nation.
