After being unable to win an All-Star Game for nearly 15 years, the National League has won back to back mid-summer classics.

Tonight, the Senior Circuit defeated the American League 5-1 in Phoenix on the strength of a three-run homerun by Milwaukee Brewers slugger Prince Fielder in the bottom of the fourth off Texas Rangers pitcher C.J. Wilson who was tagged with the loss. Fielder was named the 2011 Ted Williams All-Star Game MVP.

The only AL run came on a solo homerun by Boston Red Sox first baseman Adrian Gonzalez off Philadelphia Phillies lefty Cliff Lee in the top of the fourth.

On a side note, San Diego Padres Heath Bell did a great Craig Lefferts impersonation when he ran in from the bullpen and then came the slide.

For the second year in a row, the NL earns home field advantage in the World Series.

The regular season resumes on Friday.
