A shocking new report from a leading pro-life organization “documents the known and alleged abuses by Planned Parenthood,” providing evidence for a congressional probe of the nation’s largest abortion provider.

“[S]ubstantial evidence … appears to show a systemic and organization-wide pattern of violating federal and state laws,” charges The Case for Investigating Planned Parenthood, the new 181-page report by Americans United for Life.

The report represents a major push by social conservatives to put the abortion issue — and especially federal funding for Planned Parenthood — into the congressional spotlight, which recently has been dominated by fiscal issues because of the debt-ceiling negotiations. Capitol Hill sources say pro-life House Republicans are already planning an event next week to endorse AUL’s call for an investigation of Planned Parenthood.

An executive summary of the AUL report highlights the charges against Planned Parenthood:

  • Misuse of federal health care and family planning funds. State audit reports and admissions by former employees detail a pattern of misuse by some Planned Parenthood affiliates.
  • Failure to report criminal child sexual abuse. Substantial and still-developing evidence indicates that many Planned Parenthood clinics fail to report all instances of suspected abuse, and instead advise minors and their abusers on how to circumvent the mandatory reporting laws.
  • Failure to comply with parental involvement laws. Some Planned Parenthood affiliates exhibit a pattern and practice of violating and circumventing parental involvement laws.
  • Assisting those engaged in prostitution and/or sex trafficking. Some Planned Parenthood clinics have demonstrated a willingness to partner with pimps or sex traffickers to exploit young women instead of safeguarding their health and safety.
  • Dangerous misuse of the abortion drug RU-486. Planned Parenthood’s admitted disregard for the FDA’s approved protocol puts profits above women’s lives and safety.
  • Misinformation about so-called “emergency contraception,” including ella. Planned Parenthood boasts of its role in the approval of a new drug ella, yet provides considerable misinformation about the drug.
  • Willingness to provide women with inaccurate and misleading information. Some Planned Parenthood affiliates continually demonstrate a disregard for women’s health and safety through their willingness to provide inaccurate and misleading information regarding fetal development and about abortion’s inherent health risks.
  • Willingness to refer to substandard clinics. Some Planned Parenthood affiliates put the lives and safety of women and girls at risk by associating with substandard abortion providers.

The full PDF of the report is available online, and further information is available at AUL’s Web site.

Will the GOP with all its libertarian and "fiscal only" conservatives really try to halt "mere murder" of innocent life, when they could be talking about their single issue - "money?"

Al Adab| 7.7.11 @ 2:55PM

Don,
Will you tell your congressman to stop public funding for this insideous agency? I trust you have and will.

Conservative View| 7.7.11 @ 10:21AM

I am sure there is someone out there who can answer this question; what is to prevent a state from taxing planned parenthood 100% of all federal monies it receives within that State? So if by bypassing the law planned parenthood receives say one million from the Federal Government, a State rises up and says that Planned Parenthood owes it one million dollars in passed due taxes.

I am sure that some reason exists to prevent a State from doing this, but if not, it is perhaps a plan worth thinking about.

Al Adab| 7.7.11 @ 2:57PM

Many of the states themselves are part and parcel of PPs funding. Indiana has withdrawn its funding and is being hounded by the DOJ for doing so.

when will these pro-life schizophrenic fascists understand that:

ABORTION IS A CIVIL AND CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT SUPPORTED BY THE RIGHTS TO PRIVACY, THE EQUAL PROTECTION CLAUSE OF 14TH AMENDMENT, AND THE 13TH AMENDMENT.

no human has a right to life or any due process rights by the 14th amendment to use another human's body or body parts AGAINST their will, civil and constitutional rights.

that's why you are not force to donate your kidney---the human fetus is no exception

THE HUMAN FETUS HAS NO LEGAL RIGHT TO LIFE

consensual sex =/= a legal, binding contract for an unwanted fetus to live.

i have do a 50-men TRAIN with creampie action, get pregnant with triplets, then abort until i have no uterus left because i DEEMED it necessary.

all medical surgeries cause harm...deal with it.

unborn baby/child is oxymoron and misnomer, it goes against the human development chart.

A FETUS IS NOT A BABY.

you pro-life schizophrenic fascist, you support reproductive slavery of women masked in an appeal to emotion fallacy...it's disgusting.

the human fetus is a parasite.

Truly amazing that these "rights" went undiscovered until 1973. Perhaps no one was paying attention until then.

gale routh| 7.7.11 @ 10:53AM

pro-life schizophrenic fascist Christians, are freaking hypocrites and proves again, that Christians don't read their bibles.

and you know, you don't.

the bible supported abortion. NIV 1984 footnote from numbers 5:11-31 said.
" Numbers 5:21 Or causes you to have a miscarrying womb and barrenness"
to cause a miscarrying womb is an abortion....this verse is an ruse for an abortion.

why are these christian against abortion, when their god is not?

the bible supported murder, genocide, infanticide, slavery, bigotry, and incest.

these mentally challenged Christians support/ignore this, just so their mental phantasm based off this tyrannical, judeo-christian god myth can say: i love you and i have a plan for you?

Ephesians 6:5-9
New International Version (NIV)

5 Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ.

2 Timothy 3:16
New International Version (NIV)

16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

i wonder if these people would honor their god by staying a slave, instead of running for freedom?

hehehehe.

didn't these Christian's mythical god told them not to lie?

unborn baby/child is oxymoron and misnomer, it goes against the human development chart.

the fetus doesn't have the ability to feel pain until 24 wks.

prove your god exists and hell is real...instead of using threat of so-called "mythical" damnation to silence the truth, you disagree with.

This is a silly! First off using the beliefs of christains seems to be a pointless arguement. Indoctrinated religious affiliates are blind to reason and logic. Secondly, comparing pregnancy to forced organ extraction is a fallacious analogy and you know it! Thirdly, just because a government allows certain actions to take place does not mean it is right or that it contradicts itself. The decision can just as easily come out differently in the future if it were ever brought up. Would you support it then? To argue that a law shouldn't change because it is a law already and has been tentativly upheld for forty years is absurd! The whole reason people argue the point is to change the law, which would then, if upheld by the supremecourt, would then make you subject to that exact same arguement. Finally, call it whatever you want, at the end of the day a fetus, unborn baby, a damn cookie monster, if you like , is a human. Its genes are human, it reproduces and consumes external energy. It's a human! And oddly enough your arguement elsewhere about how fetal homicide is different than abortion, yet describe them almost exactly the same. The only difference is the enviroment and the perp. It might not be too hard to bear a crime like fetal homicide if the action and associated punishment took into account the legal justifications for abortion. Instead it is viewed a murder. And why? If it is nothing more than sea horse, then the women can simple reuse the tools and ingrediants that worked the first. Nothing is lost. Right? Seondly, by saying the child is using your organs or body is true but your body was designed for it to and it consented to it using it. Furthermore if a child is neglected--because god forbid the parent not have to give up its brain arms and other body parts to raise it--and it dies as a result, is there not a crime there? It's a silly arguement. You're stuck with it, but only for 9 months, maybe less. That's life. That's how your body operates. Life's not fair, but you do the best you can without exploiting and using others to get on top. If you were bron under the thumb of someone your allowed to kill them to get on top. You work around the situation. It sucks, but get over it! Now, this doesn't mean that there are some seriously grey areas. If it's a choice between the two lives then someone will die but the other jeapordized is not in a state to offer its opinions up. If a women chooses not to kill herself that is fine, she is essentialy the legal rep of the kid, and should not beforced to kill her self. This would be more in line with the organ theft example given. Good quote from numbers by the way.

Al Adab| 7.7.11 @ 2:53PM

Investigate them if you will, but stop sending them millions of taxpayer dollars. Many millions of citizens would never- through their moral objections- ever contribute to such an organization. Nonetheless their money (their property) is taken from them involuntarily and used to finance this agency.

This and so many other groups, mostly on the left, exist solely by virtue of public funding. Should not they rise or fall on the merits of their work or cause rather than by simply having friends in high places? How many like the USO and so on exist solely by thier ability to provide through donations for themselves? That is as it should be. Winners and losers should not be selected through our political process.

PattyMor| 7.7.11 @ 3:00PM

Well Planned Parenthood is run by Liberals, so what do you expect, ethical behavior? They have no ethics in the normal sense other than to further marxism. PP is just part of cultural marxism to dehumanize life.

Conservative Bob| 7.7.11 @ 3:15PM

Gale... however flawed Roe V Wade is as constitutional law at this present time Abortion is legal in this country. So you have the right to murder any fetus (baby) that establishes its parasitic existence (your words) in your body at any moment you want up to the instant of birth.

I find your lust for murdering innocents to be repugnant but as you say it is currently legal.

Where in Roe V Wade or any subsequent interpretation of the constitution does it state that not only do you have the right to murder that fetus but that the government can take money from others at gun point to pay for it?

This article is about public funding of abortion mills, not whether abortion is legal.

If you want to do the entire western division of the AFC on game day live pay per view. That is your choice, such as it is.

Where exactly is granted that it is your right to demand your neighbors clean up the mess afterward and be forced to pay for your bad decisions?

Life is full of choices, healthy and unhealthy, good and bad. It seems to me that you not only want to disconnect the choices from the consequences but that you want someone else to be held responsible to pay for your choice and consequences.

The issue here is personal responsibility. You wish to choose to avoid it. I am certain you have no problem with Planned Parenthood not reporting the pregnancy of 12 and 14 year old girls, who are often impregnated but much older predators. You would rather defend the almighty "right" to choose even if it means allowing predators to go free. And you prefer that all of this is on someone else’s dime...

You have the audacity to call someone else a hypocrite... if while pulling your train of the entire western division of the AFC you contract HIV or spread HIV or some other STD who should pay for fixing that consequence of a stupid irresponsible decision?

Responsible people make responsible choices and take personal responsibility when the make a mistake. This may be news to you but pregnancy is an avoidable condition. It is the result of active decisions.

While I may find your personal choices repugnant and abhorrent they are after all your choices. Who is the hypocrite here the one wanting absolution from any consequence of any action no matter how irresponsible or the individuals that believe we are reasonable for our own actions and consequences?

As to faith I could care less what you believe or do not believe, again the consequences of that choice are yours alone. Why do you feel it necessary to disparage and attack the beliefs of others?

mejamom| 7.7.11 @ 3:50PM

Yes, abortion is legal in America and just like any medical clinic/dentist/doctor office, etc. the companies who offer that service should be held to safety standards. Investigate by all means. But why is tax money given to them at all? Is it because young and/or low income women get their health care through them? Regardless of the abortion issue, Planned Parenthood does offer other services like yearly pap smears, breast cancer screening, and contraception. All of which are important. But abortion is not health care, imo. Even if one is not a" Christian fanatic" one should be able to see the difference. Let legal abortions be done by other companies who deserve govt. money as much as the local coffee shop.
