Ridiculous. Why doesn't he do something useful and run against Debbie Stabenow for the Michigan senate seat.
Erling| 7.1.11 @ 11:00AM
Exactly.

And just why do we need more Republicans running for Prez? The conservative vote will be split fifteen different ways which will ensure that a liberal gets the nomination.

Patty - you beat me to it.

Somebody refresh my memory, but wasn't it in '68 or '72 that it seemed like there were 20 Democrats competing for the nomination against Nixon? That was the Mondale/McGovern/Jackson crowd. The election did not end well for the Democrats. I feel like I'm seeing that again in reverse - a very crowded Republican field that will, just by force of numbers, drown out any actual unifying message (if one develops) and candidate (likewise). The Obamanids have spent the last 2+ years developing and cultivating the groups they can count on for reelection. They've stolen one election already, I don't think the next one will be too tough for them.

When it comes to politics, yesterday, much less circa 1970, is completely different than today (much worse). The presidential election in 2012 will be about the current office holder, it was lost when he took his hand off of the Bible in 2008.

Thaddeus McCotter?
Who he?
Dai Alanye | 7.1.11 @ 12:07PM
McCotter is a solid conservative with a tremendous dry wit. I'll be glad to see him in, if only to hear people claiming it's impossible to elect a bald man, or one named Thaddeus.
Wayne | 7.1.11 @ 12:27PM
Love the addition of McCotter to the race. He has a booming voice and an acerbic wit. He is obviously brilliant and he is a warrior, something lacking in candidates like Pawlenty and Romney.
As a vet Mc Cotter is type of politician I feel would have my back. He is not the only GOP candidate I feel this about. But I can support McCotter along with Bachmann or Palin. If people like the combative ways of Christie, they will live McCotter. He will at the very least add a spark to the debates that will make them worth watching.
SandyfromMO| 7.3.11 @ 12:30AM
I sent an email to Cong. McCotter praising him for a speech he had given about the healthcare bill. Since I am from Missouri he is obviously not my Congressman. BUT I received a very nice hand-written note thanking me for my email. I was very impressed.

McCotter supported Card Check at one time--that's a deal breaker.
