As Matthew Vadum writes below, political prognosticator and MSNBC contributor Mark Halperin has been suspended from his gig on the network after calling President Obama a "dick."

Funny, that's the exact opposite of how Halperin and co-author John Heilemann portrayed then-presidential candidate Obama in Game Change. In fact, Obama is just about the only political player from the book who comes off looking good. Not only good, but great: Cool under pressure, cool in the face of criticism, cool in how he walks and talks. Just plain cool.

That didn't surprise me when I first read Game Change early last year, what with the journalistic lust orgy for Obama, but it does make Halperin's latest remarks more, well, cool.

Mark should shut up with the apology. He said what he thought in language we can all understand and he was right. He should stick with his comment. That's the trouble with Washington. You say what you think and some liberal news organization wants to stifle you. Well Mark, if these guys suspended you, so what. The guy who was really a moron was the male news anchor. I don't watch those guys so I don't know his name but he should change places with the guy who cleans up the set after the show is over. What an idiot he looked like.

TheRightIsAnythingBut| 6.30.11 @ 5:11PM

Yeah, I don't doubt that you understand that kind of language. After all, it was one syllable and an insult. Is that the best you have?

beebop| 6.30.11 @ 6:32PM

It is just plain hilarious! For one day I didn't care that gas prices fluctuate with little and no explanation while I try to decide whether I am going to fill up now or wait until the morning. For one day I didn't care that I now refer to my 401K as a .01K. For one day I didn't care that my credit cards will need to be trimmed over time. For one day I didn't care that the worst president ever can stand up and impugn citizens of this nation with a broad brush and no one stops him from doing it. For one day I didn't care that Harry Reid thinks that members of the Tea Party are not citizens and that by "listening" to the constituents of his party, the Republican caucus is somehow doing something terrible. For one day I laughed and laughed and laughed and have hopes that the dopey dick in the white house will be dropped on his flat ass in his perfectly pressed trousers! So, take it for what you will. I don't really give a good damn.

Occam's Tool| 7.1.11 @ 2:28AM

What is highly amusing here is what his SUPPORTERS are calling this President---Jon Stewart calling him "Dude," and Halprin calling him "a dick."

I find the lack of gravitas interesting about a guy who was called a "god" when first inaugurated.

BD57| 6.30.11 @ 6:58PM

Once again, the Left presumes to be qualified to give civility lessons .......

Kinda funny the guy who said it was slobbering all over Obama a year or two ago; really, really hard to claim Halperin "belongs" to us.

Occam's Tool| 6.30.11 @ 10:37PM

No, it's not the best I have. Barack Obama is a man who supports baby killing (very late term abortion) and has nominees for safe schools who support pederasty*. His friends/mentors are Communists (Van Jones and his childhood mentor) and/or traitors (Bill Ayers)/and or racists (Jeremiah Wright)/ and or terrorists (Khalidi, Ayers again).

He dis doing everything he can to create a second Holocaust and allow a rabidly anti-American country to acquire nuclear weapons. He is doing everything he can to sabotage our economy. he despises our military, and can't even keep his live MOH winners from his dead ones that he has awarded straight in his head (not even name or rank---was the guy dead or alive? Sheesh, Barack. You really "liked" Sal, didn't you.).

OK, no foul language here. And now, a discussion of an Obama nominee and pederasty:

"*President Obama’s “safe schools czar” is a former schoolteacher who has advocated promoting homosexuality in schools, written about his past drug abuse, expressed his contempt for religion and detailed an incident in which he did not report an underage student who told him he was having sex with older men.
Conservatives are up in arms about the appointment of Kevin Jennings, Obama’s director of the Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools, saying he is too radical for the job."

Mike| 6.30.11 @ 9:03PM

Joe Scarborough was the male anchor. You really are stupid.

Truth to Power| 6.30.11 @ 10:30PM

Thanks Mike. You are as funny as can be. Is this the typical reaction of the left? Wow.

Occam's Tool| 7.1.11 @ 12:05AM

Speaking of Dicks: we may be owing someone a BIG-TIME APOLOGY. I thought Ben Stein was wrong because everone is equal under American law, but I stated that it was IMPORTANT TO LET THE FACTS COME OUT before casting judgment, because lawyers and judges tend to be scum. As usual, I was correct, and for the antisemites like Jack in Wi. and Clint Elegans (C. Elegans, the hermaphroditic self fertilizing inbreeding nematode), here's one in your face---I bear no brief for the IMF, but I love the way Ron Paul, the living jackboot, ran to Judgment:

"Report: Ex-IMF Leader's Rape Case Near Collapse

A A | Email Us | Print | Forward Article A person familiar with the case says former International Monetary Fund Leader Dominique Strauss-Kahn will have his bail substantially reduced in his sexual assault case because of issues with his accuser's credibility.

The person spoke to The Associated Press Thursday night on condition of anonymity to discuss matter not yet made public in court. The person says prosecutors have raised issues about the credibility of the hotel maid who has accused Strauss-Kahn of raping her, but will not elaborate on what those issues are.

The New York Times first reported that the investigators uncovered major holes in the maid's credibility, citing two law enforcement officials.

One of the officials tells the Times that the woman has repeatedly lied since making the initial allegation May 14.

THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP's earlier story is below.

Former International Monetary Fund leader Dominique Strauss-Kahn may get his pricey bail and house arrest arrangement eased in his sexual assault case, a person familiar with the case said Thursday.

It's expected there will be a change in the bail conditions at a newly scheduled court date Friday, the person said, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss matters not yet made public in court. The person declined to detail what the new bail arrangements might be.

Strauss-Kahn lawyer William W. Taylor would say only that the hearing was to review the bail plan. The Manhattan District Attorney's office declined to comment.

Accused of trying to rape a hotel housekeeper, Strauss-Kahn has been under armed guard in a Manhattan townhouse after posting a total of $6 million in cash bail and bond. He denies the allegations.

Strauss-Kahn was held without bail for nearly a week after his May arrest. His lawyers ultimately persuaded a judge to release him by agreeing to extensive — and expensive — conditions, including an ankle monitor, surveillance cameras and armed guards. He can leave for only for court, weekly religious services and visits to doctors and his lawyers, and prosecutors must be notified at least six hours before he goes anywhere.

The security measures were estimated to cost him about $200,000 a month, on top of the $50,000-a-month rent on a town house in trendy TriBeCa. He settled there after a hasty and fraught househunt: A plan to rent an apartment in a tony building on Manhattan's Upper East Side fell through after residents complained about the hubbub as reporters and police milled around the building.

Under New York law, judges base bail decisions on factors including defendants' characters, financial resources and criminal records, as well as the strength of the case against them — all intended to help gauge how likely they are to flee if released.

Defendants and prosecutors can raise the issue of bail at any point in a case. It's common, if asking a judge to revisit a bail decision, to argue that new information or new proposed conditions change how one or more of the factors should be viewed.

The 32-year-old maid told police that Strauss-Kahn chased her down a hallway in his $3,000-a-night suite in the Sofitel hotel, tried to pull down her pantyhose and forced her to perform oral sex before she broke free.

Strauss-Kahn's lawyers have said the encounter wasn't forcible, and that they have unreleased information that could "gravely undermine the credibility" of the housekeeper. Her lawyer has said she is prepared to testify despite a "smear campaign" against her.

The Associated Press generally does not identify accusers in sex crime cases unless they agree to it.

Strauss-Kahn, 62, was in New York on a personal trip. He left the hotel shortly after the alleged assault — to have lunch with a relative, his attorneys have said.

During his initial bail hearings, prosecutors noted that Strauss-Kahn was arrested on a Paris-bound plane at John F. Kennedy International Airport, and that they could not compel his return from France if he fled. His lawyers have underscored that it was a long-planned flight, and they've said he wants to return to court to clear his name.

He resigned his IMF post after his arrest.

Again, I despise the IMF and their policies. But this was a little convenient, no?

Ron Paul is a crapulent, gullible, foreign policy moron. this fellow, if exonerated, will be the next President of France---and he's pissed him off falsely, with no proof. Nice job Paul.

Yeah, there are plenty of voters today trying to extract the huge shoe-boot in their individual mouths after proclaiming his greatness and voting for him on 11/4/08. As Forrest said about STUPIDITY!!!!!!!!

Occam's Tool| 7.1.11 @ 2:30AM

I voted for the war hero, imperfect though he was. It was the worst election of my life; I knew we were going to lose. I listened to AC/DC on my way to the polling booth to get in the reight mood. Oberstar was re-elected at that time for the last time.

Dear Clint: faced with a choice between McCain and Obama, I'd vote that way again. Politics is the art of the possible. I didn't vote for McCain in the primaries.

Once again, you deserve your nickname of C(lint) Elegans, a self-fertilizing creature with the simplest nervous system known of any multicellular creature. Or, to put in terms a Paulite can understand, you screw yourself and have a teensy tiny brain.

He inquired of MSNBC's tech's if the 5 second delay was operational and was told that it was [which it wasn't or the button wasn't properly hit]. Anyway the word went out over the air, and that's why MSNBC was frantic afterwards in apologizing!!!!!!!!

Kiss, the old just "keep it simple stupid". I admire a man who can actually in this day of political correctness, says what he thinks without a thousound words of BS or SPIN. Thank God somebody can spit it out and not be afraid. We should all review the first amendment before we all lose it. Watch what you wish for!!!

Mike| 6.30.11 @ 5:27PM

Okay, Bass. So when someone calls Michele Bachmann a c$&t you'll think the remark is, well, cool.

Ken (Old Texican)| 6.30.11 @ 6:17PM

Yeah, Mike.
Michele should have been called the proper term with proper adjective..."lovely vag**a".

Conversely, Obama should have the proper adjective... "pencil d***"

Or my personal favorite .... needle dick the bug f^cker ....

Mike| 6.30.11 @ 8:57PM

Okay, Ken. From now on Bachmann will be known as the "lovely vagina."

You will simply be continued to be known as asshole.

The "someone" would need to be a water carrying, favor currying, ass kissing supporter of Michele Bachman in order for there to be a true comparison. But you hold on to that, sweetie!

Clint| 6.30.11 @ 6:09PM

We would never ever call someone a c$&t, that's not cool.

But, callin' You a cunt is.

Yea, and calling you a sack of maggot sh$t is too.

TTP: Mike is a leftist swine. Clint Elegans is a Paulist swine with a hardon for Jews. Both are scum. There is no point to award.

By the way, speaking of dicks and sex acts---it looks like Ben Stein was right to assume innocence---Strauss' accuser has lied repeatedly and the case is about to collapse. Good job Clint and Jackboot Jack from Wi. Good job, Ron Paul.

I dislike the IMF. But accusing a man of rape is an entirely different thing. Paul is a blithering idiot.

Occam's Tool| 7.1.11 @ 1:11AM

That's interesting coming from Clint Elegans.

"Dick" was actually a very charitable adjective to describe this narcissitic lightweight.

If Obama ever agrees to sit down for an interview

Wallace's first question will be:
" I don't mean to be disrespectful Mr. President,
but are you really a dick?"

Suddenly 'flake' doesn't seem so bad.

somnolence| 6.30.11 @ 9:59PM

The word "dick" simply means private I.
