President Obama on the debt ceiling negotiations, from his press conference today:

“If we do not have revenues, that means there are a bunch of kids out there who do not have college scholarships,” Obama said. ”[It] might compromise the National Weather Services. It means we might not be funding critical medical research. It means food inspection might be compromised. I’ve said to Republican leaders, ‘You go talk to your constituents and ask them, “Are you willing to compromise your kids’ safety so some corporate-jet owner can get a tax break?” ’ ”

Those were just talking points being handed out to the dupes in the media and elsewhere, including those who visit this very site and regale us with their leftist nonsense.

OMG. The wolkenkuckkuckshiem world of The Left never ceases to amaze me. Just when America needs a solid dose of reality, we saddle ourselves with a myopic, agenda driven, ideologue. When can we rid ourselves of this class warfare "Priest"?

2012 cannot get here fast enough so we can boot this twit out of office

It might mean some Democrat union hacks might need to go find a real job.

So ... everyone can have what they want if we take away corporate jet owners' tax breaks ....

OOOOOO kayyyyy

Oh, now I get it. You see, the federal government is running flat out lean and efficient. Cuts of ANY kind disrupt this full utilization machine of good, causing untold mayhem to ensue.

How does this horse's behind look at himself in the mirror?

Corporate jet taxes are 3 billion over ten years. That is his number one idea? We need to replace this guy with somebody that is serious.

Bob Grant| 6.29.11 @ 7:41PM

Is this the best he's got? These are high school debating tactics.

The false choices, the strawman arguments, etc.

He's simply a second rate political hack. How can republicans screw this up next year. He's ripe for the beating.

Most of the important drug and medical technology research is funded by the private side, not the public. It's why the US dominates in Medicine.

Wikipedia is not a right wing slanted set up (I could get more precise, but I'm tired and hungry and going off to eat and study), Here's the link:

Toodles.

It isn't the Government's job to pay for college scholarships! F THAT! Pay your own damn way!

I used to think that Obama was America's Nero. I guess I over-estimated him. He is nothing more than an angry, condescending empty-suit.

We are in tough times and serious thought is needed. We need to be free of this ill-mannered Chauncy Gardner and his friends as soon as possible. I wish the election were today.

Thank you for this article. That's all I can say. You most definitely have made this blog into something special. You clearly know what you are doing, you've covered so many bases. Thanks!

Daizie| 6.30.11 @ 7:21AM

If he felt that way, he shouldn't have introduced the corporate jet tax break in his stimulus bill in the first place.

This whole discussion is such a crock! I blame the conservatives for this...for not calling out the liberals and their outrageous lies. These so called tax breaks are not some "gift" the taxpayers are giving to fat cats. Aircraft are just another business expense. When the president purports that expense to be a "fat cat tax break," he is flat out lying.
