So, New York has a $10 billion budget deficit, and what's preoccupying Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the state legislature? Redefining civil marriage to include same-sex couples.

That betrays an inglorious double standard in liberalism and the media. When Republican-controlled legislatures enact pro-life or pro-family laws during the Great Recession, they've veered off course from a focus on fiscal priorities. If liberals do it, they get a pass.

That scenario has cropped up in my home state of North Carolina, where the GOP-led legislature recently made us the third state to cut off funding for the abortion-provider Planned Parenthood. The refrain from Democrats? Republicans are side-tracked by social issues.

What happened in New York? Somehow, not a distraction.

Bonus: Looks like Cuomo already has his sights on a higher office for 2016.

NY City is full of left-wingers, liberals, progressives (lol!), socialists and assorted "intellectuals"........ Is it any wonder why most of the rest of the nation dislikes NYC?
