Have you or your business been on the receiving end of mistreatment from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)? If so, you could have a job in a new Herman Cain Administration. The presidential candidate said in an interview that he would like to set up a regulatory reduction commission that includes victims of the renegade government agency. Cain was among several candidates who addressed the Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans earlier this month.

“Whenever science does not back up a regulation, it’s gone, that’s the idea,” he said. “If you have been abused by the EPA you are a candidate for this commission. We need to stand up average Americans and job creators and we need to get government back in check.”

Cain’s comments were prompted by the job killing regulations and lawsuits filed by the EPA related to Obama’s climate change agenda.

Recently the EPA announced that they were going to impose unrealistic timelines for the implementation of climate change rules that American Electric Power Chairman Michael G. Morris denounced saying, “We will have to prematurely shut down nearly 25 percent of our current coal-fueled generating capacity, cut hundreds of good power plant jobs, and invest billions of dollars in capital to retire, retrofit and replace coal-fueled power plants. The sudden increase in electricity rates and impacts on state economies will be significant at a time when people and states are still struggling.”

Cain also said he would put permits for oil drilling on “booster rockets” to help revive the Gulf coast economy. Cain is the former chairman and CEO of Godfather’s Pizza.

Other dignitaries in attendance echoed Cain’s concerns about the direction of U.S. energy policy.

“On the one hand, President Obama’s rhetoric says he is about domestic energy development,” Rep. William Cassidy (R-La.) noted. “But his regulatory and taxing regime is anti-domestic energy.”

The congressman also dismissed the idea that new “green jobs” would help to re-charge the economy.

“The president kept saying, don’t worry the jobs that are destroyed will be made up by these other jobs, but this has not occurred, and it seems unlikely to occur.”

Energy was the dominant theme of the conference and has figured prominently into Cain’s public comments.

“From the oil-rich states of Louisiana and Alaska to the mighty dams along rivers across the states, the options for many forms of energy are real and plenty,” he has said. “Still, liberals continue to perpetuate the misunderstanding that the high energy consumption of a thriving nation and conservation of our precious planet are at odds with one another.”

Cain’s criticisms of the EPA will likely play well with the party base. The Republican front-runners, or at least the presumed front runners former Govs. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts and Tim Pawlenty of Minnosota are both a little too green for rank and file conservatives. (Although Pawlenty has renounced his earlier positions.) The historical connection between radical environmentalism and communism may not be bad theme for Cain to pick up. Adam Bitely, an editor with Net Right Daily unpackages the history here in great detail.

Hermann Cain is right on target. Smack the EPA down and put the elitists there out of work, not hard working Americans who are simply victims of idiotic unscientific findings that lead to Darwin type regulations forcing business to shut down.

Quick, hurry, guys. Herman Cain's Money Sparkler is almost over the $50K mark.

He might want to start with this:

"As we earlier reported (June 13 Human Events page 12), Environmental rules are hampering Border Patrol operations near the Mexican border, even as the agency doles out millions in taxpayer dollars meant to offset damage to endangered species. .....Because of a pond inhabited by endangered pupfish, Border Patrol officers can use their vehicles to pursue illegal aliens only if the chase stays on the main road. If the pursuit veers into a 42-acre sector near the pond, officers must continue the chase on foot or horseback. ......Pupfish aren’t the only critters confounding the Border Patrol. There’s also the Chiricahua leopard frog, Mexican spotted owl, lesser long-nosed bat, Pima pineapple cactus and Sonoran Pronghorn antelope.......Border Patrol agents can’t drive vehicles into designated Wilderness areas, as well as certain areas of national parks and monuments.........'
To hell with the safety of the Border Agents -- save the critters

Will look at that article. In my experience, it is the US Fish and Wildlife Service that makes a lot of rules for the "recovery" of threatened and endangered species. EPA enforces the provisions of the Clean Water and Clean Air Acts, among other things.

They are a "run amok" agency, no doubt. I don't think it is possible to run a business today without being in violation of some federal law at sometime.

All I can say is "Give them Hell Herman". We need some common sense in government and sure aren't getting it from Obama and his minions.

Herman is the first poitician to mention the rivers as a source of energy. The Feds just drained a reservoir on the Mckenzie to put in intake towers to regulate the temperature of the water for the fish in the river but did nothing about installing a power house. I can't believe the number of rivers here in Oregon that have dams for flood control with no power houses. Gravity is the cheapest energy there is and so far the Libs haven't managed to talk it out of existence. We could put people back to work adding power plants to the existing flood control dams and improving the ones that we have. I think there is something fishy there... no pun intended.

Oregon is in love with wind power and they will never do what you are suggesting, even though it is a good idea. Hydropower can supply an almost unlimited source of energy and that is the problem. The green lobby and the wind power crowd got a renewable energy mandate passed by ballot initiative in Washington state that SPECIFICALLY excluded hydropower from the list of acceptable renewable energy sources. The game is rigged.

We need a REAL businessman and conservative to lead us out of the fiscal disaster we're in. Don’t underestimate the Cain Train, friends. Although the other night's debate didn't allow him to shine, Herman Cain's star is still rising and I think Americans will like what they hear as they get to know him better. He's a proven business success and America is desperate for a change of course, before Obama ruins us.

One of the things about Herman Cain that appeals to me is that he isn't a politician, and therefore says things that aren't customary. He strikes me as very real.

Check out this humorous cartoon which uses Obama's own voice, spoken by him, to make the case that he's ill prepared to lead a capitalist society. The cartoon uses Obama's recent (and desperate?) raffle to have dinner with him as a plot device to put him in contact with a perfect foil, who eventually decides that Obama is so hopelessly clueless that she is going to vote for Herman Cain.

It's pretty funny and it also serves to highlight the differences in worldview (at least in terms of business and the economy) between somebody like Herman Cain and Mr. Obama. I found it illuminating.

'These other jobs that will replace the coal-jobs' will be taxpayer-subsidized jobs that produce nothing but the need for increased subsidization in the future. These alternative energy technologies would be pursued whether govt was intruding or not. There are untold billions waiting for businesses that come up with the breakthroughs.
Businesses with capitol at risk are in a better position to discriminate between the financially-feasible and the money pit.
Govt simply throws money at it, directed in part by politics and those connected donors looking for the gravy train.

There is a breaking point, it would seem, when even a Democrat administration would stick aside ideological beliefs in order to help kick our economy into second gear, in desperate times anyway. So how bad does ours get before the messiah lets go of his demands of his people?

White America is not ready for Herman Cain. That is a fact that most media types will not put in print. Obama succeeded because he is an "Uncle Tom". He was never perceived by the White majority to be a threat. He was the "token" Black man in politics (white mother, and black father), and he seemed to be just another Jimmy Carter, with a tan, to the White majority. Then along comes Herman Cain, and all hell breaks loose. The media has to move full force to clue in the White majority that Cain is just another "Uncle Tom" (something that he is not). That he is NOT a serious candidate; Just a "crazy" Black guy with no real experience in government, or world affairs ( Obama doesn't seem to know that there are only 50 states.). The "mud" is thrown and accumulates, because the White majority is just not ready for a real candidate who brings both personal life experience, and business experience to a job that is actually more ceremonial than "Royal" (our Congress really rules, and the President just leads.). Oh, and did I forget to mention that Herman Cain is a Black person, and not one of the pecan tan type that don't seem to disturb the White majority? Now, I am not saying that Herman Cain is the right person to be our next President, but stop with the negatives, and let him speak his mind. And lets get serious about not judging a person by the color of his skin, or soothing ones conscience with "tokens," of another race, by electing them to an office that they don't qualify to hold. We don't need another "Uncle Tom" as President. Obama has been our Trojan Horse, and if you don't remember the ending to that "gift", do your own homework and look it up, and think.
