The Spectacle Blog

Atlanta Journal-Constitution pontificator Cynthia Tucker is never right about, well, anything, so it’s no surprise that she too has become an ACORN voter fraud denier.

Opines the columnist who is slightly to the right of Che,

I know what you’re thinking: What about ACORN and its massive fraud?

Well, quiet as it’s kept, neither ACORN nor its hired hands engaged in voter fraud.

Because of its sloppy management practices, ACORN ended up with a few cheating workers who registered children or ex-felons or others who were not eligible (Mickey Mouse showed up on a list in Florida).

Where to begin?

ACORN routinely engaged in voter fraud. Tucker is playing the same game of semantics that left-wing pseudojournalist Brad Friedman plays.

Voter fraud (also called electoral fraud or election fraud) is a blanket term encompassing a host of election-related improprieties including fraudulent voting, voter registration fraud, forgery, impersonation, identity theft, bribery, manipulating a voting machine, ballot box stuffing, false swearing, absentee ballot fraud, and many, many other crimes.

As I write in my new book Subversion Inc.: How Obama’s ACORN Red Shirts are Still Terrorizing and Ripping Off American Taxpayers, at least 54 individuals associated with ACORN have been convicted of voter fraud. ACORN itself was convicted of felony voter registration fraud in Nevada in April.

ACORN, a former employer and legal client of President Obama, didn’t have “sloppy management practices” as such. The group actively encouraged voter registration canvassers to make up names such as Mickey Mouse and Mary Poppins on voter registration forms. The fraud was planned and sanctioned at the highest levels in the organization — as the Nevada conviction proves.

Tucker joins a growing list of useful idiots toeing the hard left’s party line on ACORN. Here are just a few of the other members of the useful idiot club: Eric Alterman, Katrina vanden Heuvel, Rachel Maddow, Joe Conason, Adam Serwer, John Atlas, Peter Dreier, Whoopi Goldberg, Roseanne Barr, Glenn Greenwald, David Neiwert, Markos Moulitsas, and more or less the entire Congressional Progressive Caucus.

The club’s membership roster will only grow as the Left tries to rewrite the narrative about ACORN in order to cover up the group’s crimes against America.

Cynthia Tucker is the primary reason we cancelled our Atl Journal Constitution subscription shortly after moving to Atlanta. She's a radical left wing idiot. Not sure how she remains emplyed.

Don't you mean the "Urinal Constipation?"
The only reason to open it, back in the day, was for Lewis Grizzard. May he RIP.
I don't know what it is with women from GA named "Cynthia". Perhaps Tucker and McKinney were separated at birth?

Good move.

I think if they were going to tell them to make up names they could do a better job than "Mickey Mouse and Mary Poppins" dumbass

beebop| 6.26.11 @ 6:26AM

These names and the actions of ACORN perfectly reflect their contempt for the rule of law. You think they were going to engage in careful consideration of names that would pass muster? Your logic is simply breathtaking for its threadbare foundation.

Mike, they are not very bright people from the top to the bottom of this organization. I am sure you knew that. An accompanying explanation is that you are not too bright yourself. You are just a troll so that is not a surprise either.

beebop| 6.26.11 @ 10:18AM

I worry that too many people are in agreement with you. While the front line person with the clip board and freebies may not have graduated at the top of his/her class, those in power .... a la SEIU are plenty crafty and dangerous.

Dollface| 6.26.11 @ 1:16PM

Actually, signing up Mickey Mouse and Mary Poppins to vote falls right in with the Cloward-Piven strategy that ACORN follows. Mary and Mickey may get caught in the quality checks and be taken off the voter rolls, but dozens more fake names and unqualified real persons slip thru.

Truth to Power| 6.26.11 @ 6:03PM

It is obvious what they are doing and what needs to done. There is nothing sophisticated about any of this. If it seems cleverly done on your part, I don't see it. Cut them off from the federal and state coffers and enforce the law. I worry that we don't do what needs to be done not that we are in a war with geniuses.

Matthew, my goodnessm, don't you realize that it's not voting fraud etc, but rather ......COMMUNITY ORGANIZING? What is possibly wrong with your reasoning? Truthfully, thanks for your excellent article/information concerning the typical political coverup by Cynthia. It's simply amazing that she'd attempt to disguise the truth, since she [and Whoopie etc] has nothing in common with El Chosen One, right??????????

Ore Gone| 6.26.11 @ 6:08PM

The real concern is why the justice department isn't hounding this organization off the face of the earth. The one sacred totem in any society is the vote! In a less gentle time they all would be rotting in a dark hole. Thanks for the article.

hmrhonda| 6.27.11 @ 10:08AM

The left is petrified that they can't win legitimately so they have to cheat. Otherwise all their "freebies" will be taken away.
