The Spectacle Blog

Speculation is mounting that acting ATF Director Kenneth Melson is going to resign this week over Operation Fast and Furious. I discussed this implausible sting operation in my column on the main site.

Dr. Walter Williams recently printed an article in which he maintained that Obama's re-election was a lock due to the demographic groups he had cultivated (unions, MSM, the un- and under-employed, blacks, etc.) It was a compelling argument, as are all Williams' statements. Those groups will continue to follow their benefactor despite the corruption of Obama and his legions. I view the presidential election of 2012 with trepidation.

That is the plan, but they never counted on the rest of us Americans rising up. Obama can not appeal to one of his groups without alienating everyone else.

I dunno about winning. It all depends on turnout, and he's not getting those messianic crowds anymore. Speaking of this, though---grotesque incompetence does finally get noticed.

There may be a significant defection of blacks, though, or at least enough to throw the election the other way.

Something not many people know - Obama's percentage of the black vote was NOT substantially higher than Kerry's (something like just 2%) and the black vote for Dems has been eroding over time.

No, the resignation of the ATF director is not enough. Issa must get to the bottom of this swamp. I'll bet it leads all the way to the top. Which leaves us two unappetizing explanations:
either Barack Obama authorized Operation Fast and Furious or he has rouge operators in his admistration. Which is more likely?

Its getting rather bumpy under that bus. But he can join Weiner for a gay old time.

We also need to know what other very odd operations DOJ or ATF may have "in play" right now.

Are American citizens in danger due to "Fast and Furious" or other publicly unknown reckless DOJ/ATF programs?

What is the plan to safely retrieve the "walked" weapons?

What are the new internal ATF procedures to listen to field ATF agents who demand & scream that a plan or program is cockamamie?

The ATF Director should go. Others need to be given the boot as well.
