Here’s quite a claim from Dallas Fed president Richard Fisher: 37 percent of all net new jobs since the start of the recession were created in Texas.

Furthermore, Fisher argues that Texas’s success in creating jobs is directly attributable to the fact that “it has rejected the economic model that now prevails in Washington” and its “…free market and business-friendly climate.”

Yeah, and guess what else? My house hasn't lost a dime of value. Cool huh?

It is good to be a Texan.

Yes it is good to be a Texan. That's why my family
has been here since 1835.

Well if things get worse, I'll move to Texas. Notice that the Texas legislature only meets every other year. Must give them less time to do damage.

Okay, but what are they being paid and how good are the benefits?

I lived in Texas until a year ago, and that information is correct. Our house was sold within 3 days. Texas is a right to work state. I think the salaries and benefits are pretty good. No state income tax and the cost of living is very reasonable. Property prices did not crater like other states. I moved to Florida, where salaries are low and cost of living is pretty high in contrast to the salaries. In fact, quite a few corporations located there from CA and other states because of the positive business climate. Rick Perry and the Republican controlled Legislature is another factor that favors business.

Sounds like a Perry - Cain ticket could make a pretty compelling story. Perry with the gubmint experience bolstered with Cain's unmatched (with this field of candidates) business background. As a bonus, pick up even 30% of the black vote and it would be a slam dunk!

Hoo Rah for Texas.
Americas Team to the Super Bowl come next Jan.
