Quin,
old hat!
You evidently don't quite believe I'm a "prophet" yet and have not read my new book.
I wrote this below on my blog site over two years ago.
ENERGY SLAVERY
Climate Change? Mothball Your Car!
If you have been "dropping in" on "The American Spectator" or our other recommended news sources, you pretty well understand the parameters of the Climate Change Lie . So Let's cut to the chase.
Many in our federal government demand that you put your automobile on blocks. That is precisely their end-game...their goal, and make no mistake about it.
They want you on a bicycle, a bus, or a train, so they know where you are, and where you are going! Oh! they also think it will be pretty neat to know why you are going where you are going as well!
In Fact, they would rather you go nowhere, except if they herd you there. Nice thought isn't it?
Ladies and gentlemen, "Cap and Trade" or any other energy rationing scheme, is merely a method of curtailing your freedom, and it is a multiple "whammy". For instance, if you live in the South, boy o boy do you thank goodness for air-conditioning. What happens when you cannot afford to turn it on? If you live in the North, the lack of heating can be actually life-threatening!
So! What if you are forced, due to the cost, to choose between driving your car or cooling or heating your home and work-place? Some choice, right?
Okay, now let's consider for just a moment the "ripple effects" of energy rationing across our entire economy. Well first, coal miners and oil-drilling personnel are out of a job. Heck, I don't know if coal miners appreciate their jobs or not, but I worked on oil-drilling rigs as a young man, and I can tell you that those men are some of the proudest, bravest men I have ever worked with. WOW! do I respect them, and not a union member in the bunch!
Many in our federal government simply want to change "supply and demand" with "No supply without begging the government" .
Oh! your grocery bill will explode. A huge percentage of our groceries are transported ...by trucks...burning diesel or natural gas. OOPS! I am sure many of you have additional insights into the ripple effects of energy rationing. Drop us a line.
We here at T.E.A.M. AMERICA can come to only one conclusion. Government imposed energy rationing is either insane, or it is purely evil.
Our country is blessed with a 300 years supply of clean energy in the ground beneath our feet. We also have the "now idle" manufacturing infrastructure to begin Today pursuing one of my favorite energy options i.e. "Modular Nuclear Plants".
One of the huge "bugaboos" the Greenies throw at us is quite simply the "China Syndrome"; the fear of a catastrophic failure of a conventional nuclear plant even worse than the Chernobyl disaster.
Okay, let's pursue this line of reasoning a little. The single biggest obstacle in building a completely safe conventional nuclear plant is pouring a gazillion tons of concrete properly for the "containment vessel", (the huge dome you see in the distance). Everything is just so huge in a conventional plant, that honest human mistakes might multiply and cause a catastrophic failure.
So let's build little ones...in our factories...with manageable quality controls. Then we line those suckers up like "D-cell batteries" and boil some water. (Think about nuclear submarine sized units.)
Please, let us remember that is how electric power is generated...always !
You boil some water, make some steam, and spin a turbine generator!
We have proven how to do this safely with nuclear power for over 40 years in our submarine fleet!
OH BUT WHAT ABOUT A FAILURE?????
We simply shut two valves...drag the unit off line...dump the fuel rods in a pre-prepared underground glass vault filled with water...and we lose a few kilowatts of electricity until we slide a replacement unit on line.
(Huh? Glass vaults? You betcha!) Glass is very stable, lasts virtually forever, is very strong, and does not corrode. Those individual vaults will have very thick walls and cap. (think of the glass 'bricks' you have seen in homes you have visited. They are hollow...and stronger than the whole wall around them.)
Okay, Okay, Okay. We have forty years to educate our population as to the safety of this method...if anybody wanted to do so!
Instead, our lying government, and our lying media want to turn us into beggars.
PS: Please buy a bicycle for you and your family; perhaps a small wagon and backpacks too.
Best regards, all

You make me laugh, so either way your a slave to some Energy company. I would rather just build my house energy efficient and provide my own energy to my house etc. Why rely on anyone else? You want Freedom, that is freedom. I know guys who have built houses whose energy bills are ZERO! Also, our energy policy is pathetic and both parties are to blame, we had a oil crisis in the 1970's and we are still slaves to countries who have nothing to offer but oil. Also, that natural gas you speak off, you know what it does to the water right? Of course Cheney help pass a bill that allowed them to drill for natural gas with no regard for our water. Right, Left, or Center politicians/policy have nothing to do with people being slaves to the energy companies due to how lazy they are. Take your energy into your own hands.
Tom Osterman| 6.9.11 @ 12:20PM
You're missing the point here. I don't know what your do, or whether it would work for the rest of us, but I do know that if the White House can make domestic energy production all but impossible by making it all but illegal, then it can make whatever you're doing illegal if enough people start doing it to be noticeable. There is no technological fix for a tyranny.
simon templar| 6.9.11 @ 12:33PM
Actually, you make me cry and also very angry. Shall we all grow our food to not be slaves to the big agriculture industry. Shall we raise our own beef not to be slaves to the meat industry. Shall we make our own computers so were are not slaves to Microsoft or IBM? The sad thing is you are one of many idiots out there in the public that is ill-informed, uninformed, and does not use the grey matter that Providence gave you. You hear another hoax or left wing criticism of a natural resource and hear we go again...you will repeat the lie one million times. So, we can not use natural gas now..no oil..no coal..no nuclear power? You morons are now attacking wind mills as they kill the birds. Damns and hydrolectric power is no good because it disturbs the habitat of some salamander. Sorry, but I am straining to be polite and can not help myself. Shut up, go away and live in a Yurt and leave the rest of us alone.

Quin, Even though it's accurate and correct to currently do so, in all honesty I can't totally sling all of my arrows of blame his way [in consideration of his administration's dictatorily attempting to destroy the oil companies with their environmentalist-friendly offshore oil drilling policies]. As a Loyola grad in '68, I have vague rememberances of then filling up my VW's gas tank at $.35/gallon [but maybe my senility is causing dementia of sorts]. Anyway, my point is that this Democratic Party BS has been occurring my entire adult lifetime, as they have always been in political bed with the radical environmentalists and both attempting in one fashion or another to bring down those dirty ol oil companies as [in W's words] EVIL DO'ERS. This problem goes far beyond this current president IMO and extends far into the bowels of the Democratic Party. Replace Obama with Kerry, any Kennedy, Gore, Carter, the Clintons, Schumer, Durbin, Conyers, etc and you'd have the exact same thing. When these MORONS can ever be forced [since the DNC philosophy will not allow anything resembling cooperation or mental agreement, since it's beyond their capacity to do so] to do what is obvious to a mentally retarded child in special education class, and that is what's best for this country's survival. Who controls the supply of oil? A. the Russians and the middle eastern countries, any/all of which are what's known in politics as our ENEMIES. If/when they decide to resort to withholding the supply of their oil from us as a military weapon, it will be a short trip to game, set and match, tennis speaking!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Once again I have been censored!
Hey...dumbasses at TAS...you want to cut off ALL of your major contributors?
Oldefarte| 6.9.11 @ 4:14PM
I'm sure all/most of you reading this have now seen the news articles indicating that OPEC recently met to discuss the possibility of raising their maximum supply of oil shipments, and adjurned their meeting after deciding NOT TO DO SO. Wow, guess they are real satisfied with our $4/gallon price for gasoline etc, huh? This president places a oil drilling moratorium off Louisiana's shores after the BP oil spill [as ol Rahm indicated, NEVER LET A CRISIS GO TO POLITICAL WASTE, right?], then lifts this moratorium after af federal judge in NO twice orders same, and thereafter begins to deny/restrict issuing drilling permits. The result: hundreds of good paying jobs disappearing to Brazil's and China's coasts as drilling companies remove their drilling rigs from Louisiana to foreign shores. Thanks, BARRY!!!!!!!!!!!!
c. j. acworth| 6.9.11 @ 6:18PM
The analysis of the OPEC meeting that I read in todays Wall Street Journal is that the meeting failed to reach agreement because of rivalry/bad blood between the Saudis and Iran. The thinking is that the Saudis will raise their output "off the books" by maybe 1 mil. barrels/day. We shall see.
Oldefarte| 6.10.11 @ 1:16PM
CJ, you're correct, but my point was that this country receives its oil supply from these countries who ALL are our enemies. There is tons of oil either off our shores or within interior shale that is, and should be [but is not] produced. Instead, this administration and all previous Democratic Party controlled ones have legislatively/administratively restricted domestic oil production [why, because of their BJ's to environmental organizations]. Why should we pay the Muslims of the middle east for their oil when we have tons of it here, is my point!!!!!
c. j. acworth| 6.9.11 @ 6:19PM
Also in todays WSJ, Exon announces a huge new gas/oil find in the Gulf of Mexico. Drill here, drill now!
Oldefarte| 6.10.11 @ 1:20PM
CJ, please research [ie the Interior Dept and its director Salazar] the recent political situation in southern Louisiana regarding the BP oil spill and thereafter, and you'll discover this administration's political tactics at eliminating/preventing oil production in that region. Is of no consequence how much oil reserved is discovered within the Gulf, if oil companies are prevented/restricted from producing same!!!!!!!!
Occam's Tool| 6.9.11 @ 7:56PM
If I rercall correctly, Obma was quoted statingthat he wanted energy prices to a approximate Europe.
Everything this man has done, every miserable outcome we have received, I expected. I voted for Palin and her running mate, myself.
Oldefarte| 6.10.11 @ 1:26PM
OT, remember also that the current Muslim uprisings in middle eastern countries will eventually replace their dictators with Muslim Brotherhood regimes dictating Sharia Law mandates, and that they will takeover the complete oil supply within same. As such, they can economically strangle non-Muslim, delveloped countries such as this one by withholding needed oil [in addition to surrounding detrimentally Israel in their quest to destroy same]!!!!!!!!!
Occam's Tool| 6.9.11 @ 7:57PM
Sorry---"recall." Sheesh.
But the point remains---nothing that has occurred should come as a surprise to anyone that has observed this man. If re-elected, he will have no further reason to deflect terrorist attacks. THEN watch the "fun" start.
