In an interview with The Independent, Hustler publisher Larry Flynt unleashed his nastiness towards Sarah Palin:
Sarah Palin is the dumbest thing. She did a disservice to every woman in America. She knew from the first month of pregnancy that kid was going to be (sic) Down’s Syndrome. It’s brain dead. A virtual vegetable. She carries it to all these different political events against abortion, she did it just because she didn’t want to say she’d had an abortion. How long is it going to live? Another 12, 15 years? Doesn’t even know it’s in this world. So what kind of compassionate conservative is she? I don’t think anybody will want her near the White House.
Well, what else would you expect of Larry Flynt? Yet his comments aren’t far removed from those of Carol Fowler, the Chairwoman of the South Carolina Democratic Party, who said of Palin shortly after John McCain chose her to be his running mate that her “primary qualification seems to be that she hasn’t had an abortion.” Both comments reflect the hatred and contempt many liberals harbor towards Palin. I am sad to say that these sentiments represent mainstream liberal thought.
Yet Flynt’s comments do cut deeper because they are not only cruel to Sarah Palin, but even more so towards her youngest child to whom Flynt referred to as “it.” Let’s be clear. This child is not an it, is not brain dead nor is a virtual vegetable. He is a person and he has a name. His name is Trig Palin and he has a chance to lead a healthy, productive life such as Scott Jackson of Northboro, Massachusetts.
Given his own disability, Larry Flynt’s ignorance of Down’s Syndrome should be pitied and scorned.

They don't hate the child because of Palin. They hated Palin from the beginning because they hated the child. The left is NOT pro-choice as they claim, but rather pro-abortion, and they abort any fetus they think may have a genetic defect themselves.
What they miss is the love and life lessons the children with Downs Syndrome provide. They are truly God's children. You can bet the Palins understand this.

As much as I despise these people - such as Larry Flynt and Jack Stuef - and the personal shots they've taken at Sarah Palin and her family, I am actually glad that they are venting their spleens so publicly and honestly. Every time someone who is known or can be assumed to be a Democrat says something such as Flynt said about Trig, those ordinary Americans who hear of it are reminded that the Democratic Party attracts and welcomes degenerates. Some people - decent people - are particular about the company they keep.

Who really cares what Larry Flynt thinks? Does he have nothing better to do than spend time ripping someone he feels is dumb? Consider the source here. Larry Flynt is an excellent example of someone without God in his life & he needs prayer more than scorn. I'm sure Sarah Palin will pay no attention to Flynt's ridiculous remarks & has better things to do than reply to his idiocy. Abortion stops a beating heart & is therefore pre-meditated murder. No life is unimportant to God. I respect her for accepting all God has given her . Funny how Trig's mother looks on him as a blessing from God, but those who view life as an expendable commodity to be killed, sucked out of the uterus & tossed in a waste basket can't see past their own vile hatred. But then what should be expected from a guy who looks at women as an expendible commodity as well. As always I take comfort in knowing God will have the final say in the abortion on demand debate.

I just spent several wonderful days with my older sister who has a 22 year old son with Down Syndrome. She knew he had it when she was pregnant and chose not to abort, even when encouraged to by her doctor. My nephew is a very loving, high functioning young man. He told me several times that he loves me. He drew a picture of me (a very flattering one at that). He graduated from high school a few years ago and loves to draw, paint and work with clay. He is the light of her life and it sickens me to read or hear the remarks of those who would automatically assume that all Down Syndrome children should be aborted. If my nephew lives to be 100, he will never be able to do the evil that someone like Larry Flynt commits on a daily basis.

Children born with Down's Syndrome are not "brain dead" or "virtual vegetables." Many of them have jobs and just about all of them can enjoy life on a higher plane than mere existence. They are just as capable of love and affection (possibly more capable) as anyone else, and they can apply themselves to work, and so on.
Larry Flynt is a glaring example of what happens when enough morons hold up his blatherings as a triumph of free speech. When you do that, folks, the idiots you're celebrating begin to think they have something worthwhile to say.
